  1. Long story short: 1- I repaired the «Sick Tach», but once installed it didn’t work, completely dead. 2- Went to my local salvage yard and got an identical one for 20$, but this one looking in really good shape. 3- Installed it and…. Dead too. 4- Opened the hood and unwrapped my so well protected harnesses. 5- Discovered the tach wires, well preserved… I simply forgot that they were lying there and that I wrapped them with the rest of harness when I cleaned up the under hood wiring. Ok, now that I located them, I am wondering where the red/yellow one is supposed to be connected. I know where to re-connect the green/yellow dots (11) and the black/light green dots (12) ones. Any advice about where to re-connect the red/yellow hatch (13) wire?
  2. Hey Jeremy, you know much more than me about mechanic. So following is a complete Dummy suggestion... But it happened to Big Bro, couple of years ago. Since then, I carry a replacement Ignition Module in the gloves compartment. Do you have one on hand? Easy to swap and see if it works.
  3. Interesting hypothesis. I'll look closer at the connector and will come back.
  4. Guys, went to NAPA for something else, and they had a 3 port PVS in stock... I bought it. And I'm waiting for my local print shop to print the replacement decal I reproduced: Here's Big Brother's original (was able to save it from original rad support, but cannot stick anymore to the new support): The fonts aren't exactly the same, but pretty close.
  5. You probably ment LTX M/S ? Oh, nice nails, BTW.
  6. Accordingly to Marti Report, Big Brother was delivered a bit later than expected: It's still strange that 85 harnesses were installed in early 84 trucks (at least Canadian Crew Cabs). Anyway, the evidence is clear, we have the proof that '84 EVTM edition isn't the one I needed!
  7. Gary, as I mentioned earlier, I recently changed Big Brother's tires, preparing the road trip. With his all-year-long winter tires, Big Bro used to drink around 9mpg, 10 with a back wind and rolling down a slope. His new consumption is 13mpg. I am flabbergasted Tires weren't cheap, but wow, what a difference! And not to mention the comfort and the huge noise reduction.

  9. Strange... I have the 1984 EVTM, and there is no C240 connector. And the buzzer connector (no number) looks very different: It's curious that Big Brother's C240 is found in the 1985 EVTM. http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/uploads/6/5/8/7/65879365/thinking-26_orig.jpg
  10. Try brake cleaner. I had success, with something looking close to your pictures.
  11. An islanders told me that they are more reasonable now than in past years. They don't drive anymore with a large beer between the laps.
  12. With this emoji, instead of "Jellybean" you could suggest "Suppository"?
  13. They call it Jellybean or Dicknose. There is a poster I downloaded 2-3 years ago:
  14. Thanks Guys! I declare you two winners of the race, LOL! I supposed this was the first thing the original owner (Anticosti Island outfitter) cancelled on the early days of young Big Brother. They buckle up two-three times a year, when a police truck get off the ferry to take a one day ride.
  15. Installed a Tach and painted the dash bezels chrome stripes and lettering. Followed Reamer's and Powerman5K's advice. Nice result!
  16. I really feel like the guy who's popping up hours after the party is over... Anyway, better late than never, I suppose. Gary, I had exactly the same thoughts this morning, looking to identify a connector. Ok, so mine isn't the famous C125, since it has only 7 pins. I'm gonna post my question in a separate thread. But about this discussion, would be nice to: • Look at the EVMT and spot couple of connectors in the involved truck's area. • Go to a "connectors specs" bible, where connectors diagrams are simply sorted numerically. I don't think that any index or table is required. Just each connector drawing (or picture) and the color code of each wire. Gary, your test page looks enough for me. Too bad C125 isn't listed.
  17. Hi Gentlemen, I have an unused connector that I would want to identify. I first supposed it was connector C125, but seems that this latter has 8 pins, mine has only 7. And for what I can understand, Dome light is plugged to C125, and BigBrother's one works correctly. So I suppose this unused connector cannot be C125. It is located behind the ashtray. Any suggestion?
  18. I installed the under cowl metal sheet I recently bought at my local salvage yard. Job done!
  19. In reference to this discussion: I installed the metal sheet I recently bought at my local salvage yard. The donor truck was a Bricknose, so I wondered if it was going to fit, since I discovered (looking at couple of pictures found on the web) that Bulnose plate was similar but a bit different. Good news, Bricknose Cowl Top Outer Panel Extension fits perfectly on a Bullnose. I don't have good pictures, since I was at our chalet and didn't have the right tool to pull out the lower windshield chrome moulding. So I unscrewed the cowl and was able to slide the plate under. I highlighted (yellow lines) the contour shape of the under cowl body openings, so we can see that the plate follows perfectly their border. The plate appears bright, since I painted it in glossy black (pictures top pointing to truck front).
