  1. Easier on Nabble. phpBB preview doesn’t allow to see the final result. Have to post to see the pict (I am testing from my iPhone). Same with signature. Preview doesn’t show it. Same with text formatting: Preview shows the codes instead of results. I am wondering what Preview enables to pre-view before posting, is it limited to the core text only?
  2. I see the “Main” thread (or blog, no matter how call it) of a “storyboard” as a kind of introduction and table of contents. Then a reader could jump directly to the specific subject. Let’s take an example. Let’s say I am wondering what kind of modifications were made on Big Blue’s engine, did you transform it from carb to EFI or did you entirely swapped a carb engine for an EFI one. And if it’s the same engine with a carb/EFI swap, I want to follow this story, and read at members interactions with this specific transformation. Presently, it’s probably hard to find (when did it start in the whole thread) and hard to follow (possible that it’s cut with some other modifications somewhere else in Big Blue, maybe LEDs in the cluster or winch on the bumper ). If the whole transformation is split into subjects, I could find the “Engine” chapter, and then go directly to this specific story I am curious to read. Such “structure” is difficult to make during a transformation or restoration process. One day we have a question about electricity, the day after it’s about fuel tank, and the following day about ignition timing. With Nabble, such structured storyboard can be made after it’s ended. Although not sure how to make it. Nabble is nice for the “present” live conversations. But not easy to read and search at the “past” stories. So, if the next platform could offer this kind of feature, would be really nice. Much easier to go back consulting “past” threads.
  3. Yep Gary, exactly what I mean. Could have been a nice feature for «Big Blue’s Transformation» encyclopedia too. Splited into “subjects”, as Body, Suspension, Electrical, Interior (then sub subjects as Dash, Seats, etc), Engine (splited in sub-subjects if required)… EDIT: Niot sure, but maybe such “structured main thread” could be lighter than a “all in one infinite thread”. You know that Big Blue’s Transformation” is a gold mine, but it begins to be heavy and difficult to consult and navigate through.
  4. Testing the blog feature would be nice. If such blog can be structured in “chapters” or sub-subjects, this could be nice for posting a rebuild storyline, for example. Or a trip story, split in visited places.
  5. I absolutely agree that Janey’s requests deserve to be treated as a matter of priority, compared to Gary’s hobbies. There is no question about that. That’s why I am always hesitating to get rid of my over-stock. You never know the way it could be useful. Progress!
  6. Can you precise what type of dog dish you’re looking for?
  7. I suspect that this bolt lets water flow into the cab.
  8. Water goes down… So in your pict, left part of the rust surely comes from the front retaining bolt for the seat railing. Silicon-seal it when you’ll put back your seat. For the right part, this could be water from windshield as Gary said, or from some free hole in the firewall. If it was from boots, well, the left side should be rusted same as right, unless the previous owner was a one-legged person.
  9. Jim, my 2018 Chevy Volt has little under 95000 miles, and needed the four brakes to be renewed. I said to my dealer (a friend of mine) that I was really surprised, since I don’t use them often, ‘cause of my «regen driving» method. His answer: «Yep, that’s why, you don’t use ‘em enough, they rust, and so they worn faster». Message to EV drivers: Use your brakes from time to time.
  10. I suppose there is a central cap not shown in your pict, for the horn?
  11. Do you have pictures of this steering wheel?
  12. Hey people, another Bullnose general question. Just for fun. I joined this wonderful forum 2 1/2 years ago. So I do not have a huge experience about the tremendous amount of various information it contains, but I see a lot of new members arriving here with a 300 in-line six under the hood. This brings me to this question: Is there a “typical” profile of the Bullnose survivors? I start the list: • It is a regular cab; • Style Side; • Long bed; • … What about other specifications? - Engine? - Transmission? - 3 on tree? - 2x4? - And so on…
  13. Someday this trail will be asphalted, with a nice and smooth rubber pavement.
  14. I bought a new one at National Parts Depot (www.npdlink.com)
  15. Wow, induction bolt heater! I didn’t know about that tool. Nice!
  16. Sorry about you mother in law Erik, I offer you my sincere condolences. Happy you’re coming back! I think there are couple of members living in or near FL. There’s a lot of Quebecers too, our famous SnowBirds. If I was one of them, I would certainly go South with Big Bro to continue work on it during winter time. But I’m more a Polar Bear than a pelican, heat is a real pain for me. Good luck with your project!
  17. Isn’t that bulb holder also acting as ground conductive? If so, I doubt that epoxy will do the job. But maybe JB Weld is conductive?
  18. Gary - Just had a call back from Hagerty. They cannot insure Big Bro: • I sometimes carry stock (a trailer is also considered as carrying material); • Big Bro can be out of home more than 3 days (we sometimes go to our chalet and could stay there a week or two). I suppose that Hagerty's US coverage rules are different than here in QC.
  19. Yes Sir, it will be a pleasure to contribute to this migration!
  20. I have two commentaries: 1- Forum membership • IMHO, I think it is important to keep free access to members, it's in the Forum "family oriented" DNA. It's not everybody who can afford to put money to become and stay a member of this community. • So, I suggest that any disbursements would be on a voluntary basis. I will, for sure! • And maybe should we keep each participation amount confidential? It could avoid some "competition" or "frustration" among contributing members? • Now, how the participation amounts will be collected? This implies a minimal infrastructure, payment system (PayPal?), email communication, etc. It has to be simple and easy... 2- Scenario Option 2 for me. Bunch of dollars to migrate, but after it will be 600$/year. I think it would be easy to find 12 apostles among us to take in charge one month each. For the migration costs, you could do a survey among members, to figure out if we can collect enough money (I suggest that we email you directly the amount we figure to donate). Does it make sense?
