  1. Paint looks great so far Eric! I'm big fan of the 1987 F150 Flareside trucks! They're a bit unique in that 1987 was the first year of the "new" Bricknose body style, but it was the very last year for the old school Flareside bed. The 1987 fiberglass rear fenders are different from the 1980-1986 fenders and are specific to that year only. Cool truck!
  2. Looks a little higher hump than the flat auto floor would be. I do know what you are talking about, the ZF has a higher hump than the T18/T19 cover. Dave ---- edit: yes the pan openings are different between the model of trany used. The one pictured is for my T18. I also have one for the SROD that was in my parts truck and the shifter came in a different location. My 1984 F150 with 3spd manual column shift did not have a removable tunnel cover. I cut it out and then painted over the cut area to cover the bare steel edges. Here is what the "High" hump looks like. This is a 5spd cover removed from (if I recall correctly), a 1991 F150. I reused my original rubber mat, but it does not fit 100% perfectly. It's OK and I don't think most would even notice, but I'll likely replace it later when I run out of other things to do;). And for kicks, here's a pic of the NP435 shifter stick I modified and grafted on to a spare M5OD shifter stick stub. I test fitted this but it is not installed currently. I'm going to have the stick powder coated and then stick a 5spd knob on it.
  3. It's worth grabbing if the Bronco has it. Only takes 5 mins to remove. I took one out of a 1991 F250 for my truck but haven't installed it yet. If it has delay, there's a little black module up in the dash just above in the wiper switch.
  4. Does your truck have delay wipers? Does the Bronco?
  5. Yes sir, all good. I thought that's what you were running, but wasn't 100% sure. I'm thinking about the Summit 500CFM carb myself this winter;).
  6. Ray, why are you hiding this thing out back? Why not put it in the front yard, huh? C'mon! lol. If you're parting the thing out, make sure you remove... Delay wiper switch and module (if equipped) to swap into your truck (if not equipped). Steering shaft if it's in OK condition (what is the condition of the upper joint rubber on yours?) Brake master cylinder and booster (Even if it's just for spare parts for later on your truck) Front and rear swaybars if equipped, but I can't see any in the pictures. I'm sure Steve83 can tell you more.
  7. Are you running that carb on your 5.0? I have it saved in my Summit cart. Thinking about swapping out my 600 CFM Holley for this carb in this winter. I have the Performer 289 intake installed now.
  8. Actually, there was a truck almost identical to Rick's that sold recently, and I believe it was in the Southeast somewhere also...SC or GA maybe. Did anybody see this one? It was even red too... I don't know how I could even find it now, but I'm pretty sure it sold...
  9. Well, for what they are and what they cost, they're mainly for the Restomod market anyway.
  10. I see another request for brackets this morning...
  11. Same with my stripper '84. The rubber mat basically ends just past the front bolts for the bench seat. I do plan to replace mine at some point, but since I have the 5spd swapped in, I'll need a rubber floor from a 1988-1996 truck.
  12. Don't think so. They're fairly new, I think only released maybe a month or two ago. I quite like it, but it's one of those things I don't need until I run out of a whole bunch of other things to do.
  13. I'm with Ron on this one, especially if the truck is rusty. I had to drill all 8 of my bed bolts to remove the bed and if I had to do it that way again I would. The only exception for me personally would be if it was a new truck, or one with a freshly painted frame and new tank, new straps, new sender, etc...then I'd try it from underneath.
  14. But they are the same on left and right... Or do you mean the right hand side of the individual 2pc bracket?
  15. That might be for installing a styleside step bumper on a Flareside, but it's not for the regular small Flareside bumper.
  16. I LOVE this truck! I'm kicking myself a little bit also because there was a full set of these wheels on Ebay and I waited too long to buy them and they sold. I wasn't 100% on them at the time, but of course I want them even more now that they're not available. It is a lovely truck Rick. You did a great job on it.
  17. According to Gary's paint specification page, the "3P" code on my truck was used between 1982-1984. http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/exterior-paint-codes.html I believe it was used on other Ford products in different years.
  18. It's just the Ford factory color code "3P", except that it was converted to base/clear. I believe the original would have been just a single stage paint. I love it too...it sure makes an otherwise bare bones optionless truck look good...lol. I would have had the single stage done again, but they outlawed that paint in Canada a number of years ago. I believe it is still available and in use in the US? The only forms we can purchase it in are in aerosol touch up cans or small little touch up containers.
  19. That IS a pretty truck. Isn't Jonathan in or around Kingman these days?
  20. What also drives me crazy is the typical "junkyarders" behavior in general. It's probably more of an issue with interior parts, but I can't tell you how many times I found something in really nice condition that's worth saving...like a seat for example, .....and there's a greasy transfer case sitting on it with oil leaking out of it...lol. Or maybe a nice set of door panels...one will be mint, and other will have been removed with a crowbar and destroyed to retrieve a part from inside the door. But back to the NOS parts collecting dust all over North America. I'm sure what you see for sale on Ebay is just a fraction of what was thrown into garbage bins over the years. It's a sin really, but not surprising. I know a lot of businesses that have a lot of dead inventory, often times thousands of dollars worth if not hundreds of thousands, and it just sits there until at some point a manager or new owner, etc decides to get rid of it.
  21. Yes, exactly! Maybe these things were common, I dunno...but I thought it was an interesting set-up with the aero part matching the Bullnose cab;). As Gary said, it would make for a good flatbead swap or just a body swap in general. Way heavier than anything I would ever need or use, but I like it just the same.
  22. There always seems to be somebody looking for a set on Facebook. As for the mini-market...you could probably sell a half a dozen of them relatively quick, and then after that it would likely be more of a trickle, selling a couple sets a year. I'm just guessing Ron. I think there are a lot of Flaresides out there with step bumpers on them, and the guys are wanting to convert them to the short/small bumper like the originals.
