  1. Yeah, I just thought it was nice since they kept the truck stock in appearance. I believe Chevy did offer the Blazer with the 6.2 diesel, at least briefly, didn't they? I seem to recall seeing a couple of those around. I'd rock it in a heartbeat, although I too would not be real keen on a C6 with 4:10 diffs...lol.
  2. Okay Gary, here is a Ford....what do ya think? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1339952016162922/ Ray, here's one for you in Indiana. It has the rare cab corner delete option! https://southbend.craigslist.org/cto/d/south-bend-dump-truck/7008639720.html
  3. Not very often do you see something with a swap like this where the vehicle is left stock in appearance. There is a video in the auction listing as well as pics. It sounds pretty good too. The 3500 RPM tach looks interesting...what is that out of? I would have Bullnose factory diesel tech would look more at home in there, but the 3500 RPM unit adds to the uniqueness I guess. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254410274655
  4. Cool read. I wouldn't mind going for a ride in it myself. Looks like that old Bronco has the same livery as this one in the Gallery: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/1983-ford-bronco-4x4-dobbs-stroppe-team-chase-car.html
  5. Ya know Dave, if only you had a hydraulic clutch, none of this would....hahaha. Sorry, I'm just picking on your because I know you don't like hydraulic clutches!! On the up side, the brake issues are all easy repairs. I'm not sure about the clutch linkage repairs, but I know you can handle them.
  6. I agree Gary. From all the ones I've watched on Ebay, they seem to hit the high bid or come close to it with a few days to go, and then they just sit there. It might go another $500 bucks, but that will likely be it. I'm no expert...just going by previous auctions. Now, if it had functional factory AC...I think that would get it up there. I've watched a lot of really nice Bullnose trucks top out between $8500-$9000 bucks. In order to crack $10k, it usually has to be something pretty nice...or have some nice expensive accessories (tasteful and/or useful accessories).
  7. Well, looks like the auction on this truck hit my predicted price with 4 days to go! I'm not throwing in the towel just yet however. Most of the trucks on Ebay usually run up in price and then just sit there for the last 3 days at the max bid, or close to the max bid. This truck might be a little different. Wait and see.
  8. Haha...but I already have a radio delete bezel! Actually, I prefer the plain bezels...specifically the 1984 grey weave bezels with the silver edging! I like the wood grain bezels too, but they wouldn't look right in my truck.
  9. Oh boy they want some big money for that wood grain radio delete bezel.
  10. I see it now! I had to go back and look at my old pics because I was pretty sure my old 1980 Flareside was an F100 Custom. See pic below from 25 years ago...and like yours, you'll notice there's no mirror...lol. There was no mirror on the passenger side when I bought that truck, and there was none on it when I sold it either! Nice work Dave, Can wait to see some photos of her out in the wild!
  11. David, this exact thought also popped into my head a couple days ago...so I promptly checked it and the cable is all good. There's actually a little bow in the cable because the throttle stops before the end of the cable travel. I disconnected it for a test regardless, and it didn't help. If money were no object, I'd probably swap over to one of the aftermarket EFI kits this winter, but since that is getting into a $2000 bill, it sure makes a $500 carburetor look good...lol. Stay tuned for more to this story... My new O2 sensor will be here tomorrow, so I'll be testing that asap to at least see where my fuel and air is at currently.
  12. Guys, Do any of you use any type of exhaust vent hoses in your garage? Or does anybody have any experience with them? I may or may not have set off the CO sensor in the house one day last week which caused a visit from the fire department. It's a long story, and Mrs. Rembrant was not impressed.... Anyway, when I was a young lad working at a Texaco station we had exhaust hoses that went on the tailpipe of the cars in the bays and out through holes in the bay doors. I think I need to look into this a little more.
  13. So I got one other small Bullnose task completed this weekend! As if a functional washer fluid system wasn't enough for me to get excited about, I now also have a dome light that comes on when I open the driver's door!! Small little baby steps I tell ya....every little job completed is another one off the list! However, I don't know what part is not 100%...my new Chinese door or my new Chinese door jamb switch, but there was a mild interference fit between the two. Luckily the door is soft enough it allowed a little dimple where the switch button hits it. All good. I was thinking that I might celebrate by ordering a switch for the passenger side since the truck never actually had one over there. Of the few things my bare bones stripper wiring harness had loose connectors for, the passenger side door jamb switch is one of them (Along with other factory deleted items like my radio and cigarette lighter, etc).
  14. Hey Emunder, I ordered a set of the Ice Blue LED's right after you did, and I'm very happy with them as well. I don't have a real good picture of them, but they'd be the same as yours.
  15. It must feel good to be this far along finally Dave. You must be (and should be) proud! Man, that is A LOT of work to have done, and to be able to stand back and say that you did all of it is very cool. A tip of the hat to you sir. Man, I'd be out driving the wheels off that thing. If the wife asks where you're going and when you'll be back, just say you don't know...lol.
  16. No, I don't have any AC, factory OR dealer installed. I'm toying around with installing an aftermarket system, but I'd still like to keep it relatively factory looking inside. Finding a factory AC instrument bezel isn't really a big deal, but finding factory looking vents for the passenger side is a bit more of a challenge. Finding a Bullnose dash with factory AC around here is next to impossible, so I was thinking if I could find a set of dealer AC vents, I could go that route. If you happen to have any of the dealer vents you want to sell let me know. If you're keeping them for your own spare parts, no worries, I understand that.
  17. Gary, I try to, but it's mostly just on the ones that I like that I keep an eye on. In the case of a no reserve auction, it's even easier because IT IS going to sell in a week, unlike some of the others that sit for sale for years. If I happen to catch it I'll post it.
  18. That's the direction I'm going Rick. Only problem now is that everything is starting to slow down now with engine tuning and testing. I'll probably get to it through the winter sometime.
  19. Do you have a parts truck with dealer AC?
  20. I'm going by memory here, but mine is mounted above the glove box. If you have AC, it would be mounted between the two vents on the passenger side. Mine is a white plastic module...maybe 3" long by 1.5" x 1.5" or so. I haven't been in there in a little while, but that is what I have in my memory...lol. I did take a picture of it, but I can't find it now. Perhaps it was disconnected when the dealer AC was installed.
  21. That looks like the plug for the Multifunction Warning Buzzer that lives above the glovebox (Or used to live above the glovebox). I don't know what happens if you disconnect it...probably nothing other than the buzzer doesn't work. Is there a buzzer that goes off in your truck while the Fasten Seatbelt light is on (When you first get in and turn the ignition on).
  22. I'm not watching it Gary, but I do usually go back and check on them via the forum to see what they sold for. I just look at this stuff while I'm having my coffee in the am in case anything interesting pops ups. Oh,...just to add my prediction, I'm guessing the truck sells for $8500 +/-, maybe even less. If it was an XLT/Lariat with more options (Like AC), I'd say more like $10,500 +/-. Based on other Bullnose for sale ads I've been reading lately, some people would be asking between $30,000-$40,000 for this truck...lol.
  23. Thanks for all the help. Now my be the opportune time for me to switch to the Summit 500CFM carb I've been wanting...lol. Have you seen new Holley carbs have issues like this before? This one is only about a year old, with very few miles on it...maybe 3000-4000 miles, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe the throttle body is warped from it being bolted to that plastic spacer that warped...or maybe I warped it further when I torqued it down on that warped spacer...lol. Good grief. When I had it off, I did check the bottom with a straight edge and it looked nice and flat.
