  1. There is a scrap yard near my work, and I was watching them a year or so ago fill up a 40 ft sea container with scrap. They just stood it up on it's end like a cereal box and dumped the scrap inside it...lol.
  2. Welcome aboard Dan! That's The Hawk's Nest, isn't it? We used to do a motorcycle trip down south every year, and always stayed in Port Jervis, NY on the way down I-84 just so we could take a quick run up to the Hawk's Nest for some pictures;). Really nice up that way. Nice truck. Looks really clean!
  3. I should clarify...in my answer I was referring only to 2wd half tons, but all I've ever seen or found on both 2wd and 4x4 F150's were 7/8" bars. I believe there are larger bars on the F250's and up, or possibly on F150's with HD options like for towing or snow plowing...I'm not 100% sure. For guys like me with the newer Bullnoses (with 8.8 rear diff) the rear bars are easier to find since they were the same up through 1996 (and more commonly found post Bullnose era). The front bars are out there, but finding the brackets under the springs is the hard part. The Bullnose brackets are Bullnose specific, and around here they never ever get removed because of the rust on junked vehicles. Ever try to remove the long bolt that holds the spring to the beam when the threads are all rusted?...lol. I was told that the 7/8" bars are all the same, even between 2wd and 4x4, so finding them is not so difficult. Finding the hardware and brackets to mount them is the harder part. The end links and bushings are no problem...they are all available aftermarket. Feast your eyes on this! http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/sway-bar.html

  5. Excellent! I was just going to say that we need some Bronco's in the mix!
  6. Factory swaybars are 7/8", front and rear. My '84 2wd Flareside came with none. I bought both front and rear bars to install, but have so far only installed the rear bar. The front is ready to install, I just haven't gotten to it yet. The reason I've waited so long to do the front was because I couldn't find the proper brackets that go under the springs, but I do finally have them now. They are on my to do list. Hopefully soon. I've found even with just the rear bar a big difference over having one at all.
  7. I rarely ever use it myself, but LMGTFY.com is a dandy reply to some questions...lol, if you're OK with the Sarcasm of it. Or this one: http://letmegooglethat.com/ From their About page: "Let me Google that" is for all those people that find it more convenient to bother you with their questions than to Google it for themselves ;)
  8. There certainly is that, but my personal pet peeve is FB is just a constant barrage of questions and answers with no storage or database of any kind. What complicates that are the people that are not on those pages all the time...and therefore the same questions get asked all the time, over and over. A few months ago, one of the moderators on one of the FB Bullnose pages said he was going to be deleting a specific meme that was being shared. I forget what it was now, but somebody different was posting it every single day for like a month because none of them were paying enough attention to know that it had been posted the day before...lol. It was kind of funny...there was nothing wrong with the post itself, other than the annoying repetition, so the moderator started deleting them immediately after they were posted...lol. So that same situation happens every day on various topics, and it extremely annoying. On a Monday, a guy will ask the best way to lower his Bullnose. It turns into a discussion, and there's some good info, and some bad, but the guy usually gets what he needs and moves on. On Wednesday, somebody will ask the same question again, and the whole thing starts all over again. Then again a couple days after that...and so on... But that's the nature of FB, and how their "traffic" works. I remember being on forums years ago where if somebody new asked a question that was commonly answered, their post would get deleted. Not sure if you could do that on Facebook or not? Pick a common topic. Lets say starter solenoids/relays. Do you want to discuss this topic every single day?...lol. The other issue on Facebook, is keeping things on topic. Some poor guy asks for pics of a Flareside with a 2" lift and 31" tires so he can gauge if that is what he wants to buy. Within a half a dozen replies, there are pics of Styleside trucks with 2 ft lifts and 37 boggers on it...lol. The etiquette part is not nearly as much of a concern for me, but the repetition and off-topic posts are. If that stuff can all be policed and moderated, I say go to town! I am actually fine with what I call the slide-show content, like the side shot Saturday or Tailgate Tuesday pics, whatever. That's just enthusiasts enjoying their ride. I say go to town Gary.
  9. I can't answer your question specifically, but there was a guy on here just a few days ago that is researching this very topic. See thread linked below: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Roller-351-economical-and-effective-td56835.html#a57246
  10. Three and a half decades later, with the exception of a small few, they are all rough around the edges! Welcome aboard Richard. I like the green.
  11. Normally I would just have an item like this shipped to the US address that I use in Maine in which case the shipping would only be $25 bucks or so. Problem right now is, I can't cross the border to pick items up. I'll watch it for a bit and if I get any word that the border will be opening up then I'll order it. Thanks for the heads up David!
  12. That appears to be the correct one for my truck, and for $65 I'd buy it to replace my broken one...but look at the shipping cost lol. Funny story. I had my truck shipped to my from almost 300 miles away, and as we unloaded it from the trailer in front of my house, you could hear this random "ping ting ping" sound and then they would go away. I test drove the truck up and down the road hearing this ping ting ping every once in a while randomly, but every time I stopped to look under the hood it was quiet. It finally made a slightly louder noise in the driveway, and I drove it back in the garage and found that the middle tie-rod in the original 1984 radiator let go on the bottom, and the radiator fan was hitting it. Well, the last time it hit it flipped around and broke my fan shroud on the driver's side. It is now held together with black duct tape...lol. I want a new shroud, but for $309 shipping, I'll pass on this one lol.
  13. That looks great! Reminds me of when I did mine. Nothing like seeing fresh black paint on a stripped frame.
  14. This thing has been for sale for a while, so I'm not sure if I posted it previously or not, but it is pretty cool. It's nothing I'd personally ever have a use for, but it has a wild power plant and drivetrain. It says it is still street legal. https://www.ebay.com/itm/383524086114
  15. Hey Jon, I believe Max has one of the early (1980) clusters that have the warning lights. Do you know if a factory tach can be installed in one of these clusters? It looks like the main plug is right where the tach goes in these clusters? Unless they were different in 1980... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-1986-Ford-F150-Truck-Bronco-Instrument-Cluster-Gauges-Speedometer-OEM/264667162596?hash=item3d9f6467e4:g:eGwAAOSwNvBebRac
  16. Came across these while looking for other junk on Ebay. What seals are these exactly? I assume the upper and lower horizontal seals in the middle? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1982-1991-FORD-F150-F250-SLIDING-REAR-WINDOW-WEATHERSTRIP-E3TZ1042052C-NEW/362875476820?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  17. Yes you can replace just the shifter collar, or at least you can on the 3-on-the-tree column. I had mine apart several times, right down to each individual item. Non tilt. I always assumed that the automatic column was basically the same thing.
  18. I'm the same way - these old trucks are supposed to sound that way! If it's quiet, it must be broken... I have a reman C2 pump in my truck and it is as quiet as can be. However, it is only a couple years old and has only a few thousand miles on it.
  19. The rustproofing companies here are using some different color plugs these days (when they have them in-stock). They used white plugs in one of our cars...can't remember if it is my wife's Lexus or the white VW I sold a year or so ago. They don't stand out as much as black plugs on a white vehicle.
  20. Understood on the miles per hour Speedo. I thought I'd mention it just in case as I have a couple spares, and they're not really worth anything. I'll message you on the 4500 RPM tachometer.
  21. Another blue Flareside! Excellence! Welcome aboard. I too have a blue Flareside (along with a couple others on here) and I suffer from a mild case of 351w envy.
  22. That is a lovely looking interior. Well done.
  23. Max, Here is a picture of the 4500 RPM gas tachometer that I have. It has 44,000 original kms on it. Also, I didn't think of it until after, but since you have an American market truck in Germany, I also have an extra Kilometer speedometer if you want or need one.
  24. Hi Max, I am not sure if the diesel tach will work on a gas engine, but the guys on here will know for sure. If it is any help to you, I have a low km 4500 RPM gas tachometer that I will sell for less than the one on Ebay. If you currently do not have a tachometer, then I'm not sure how you wire it in, but it can be done. Edit: Mr. David here beat me to it, but I had a feeling that the diesel tach would not work on the I6.
