  1. I agree with Gary on the shifting. Then thought, you drive a big rig, you’ll probably like it!
  2. Thanks guys, Dave I think I have a pair of those. The flat square type is what I have more of. I’ve used 90° needle nose with success, if there is room.
  3. Glad you found it! Bill, I have replaced a lot of those clamps, but kept them. Always hoping to find a good tool for them. Any suggestions?
  4. Interesting, similar to mine. Wonder what it’ll go for.
  5. Yes, head gaskets and cheap and easy don’t usually go together with me!
  6. What MPG did you get with that rig running light? That's roughly what Big Blue will be when I'm done. (Note that I didn't fall into the trap of using "460" and "MPG" in the same sentence. ) The best I remember was 13 MPG on a trip, flat ground and 60-65 MPH. 11-12 running 70-75. In a bad winter with a lot of snow and ice I would get 6.5 around town in 4wd all the time.
  7. https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/d/gold-hill-1981-ford-150-custom/7034866582.html A bit high IMO for a 2wd in these parts.
  8. I agree. I am surprised though, I really thought I would want an overdrive in my F250, but with the 3.55 gearing it’s not too bad. The only way I would consider one now would be if I drove the truck on a lot of long trips. None of my rigs get great gas mileage, but far better than my truck! I had a 1994 F250 4wd, 460 EFI and the E4OD. IMO it wasn’t good enough MPG to do a swap or add a Gear Vendors OD. If if I was pulling or toting an RV, I don’t think I would then either. I wouldn’t go much over 60 MPH anyway and IMO the C6 is a much tougher tranny.
  9. https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/d/grants-pass-1985-ford-f250-diesel/7034442214.html Been used! Maybe a little high on the price. Low miles!
  10. The mic looks like the one Shaun posted above. Not having seen an actual antenna, could be anything as lots were made in the 70’s and 80’s.
  11. That’s what I have on mine. Try to find that panel! And for me affordable, not yet. Mine has a crack in the reflector, not too bad though. Had it stored in my garage when I had the Gem Top canopy on it. Sometimes I think I want to find a tailgate at the JY and store mine for protection. For what good reason I don’t know! If I end up getting a quad to push snow, that’s my thought, beat up a beat up tailgate!
  12. A 460 in a van? Cool!
  13. I do. & I do! Believe me, it's not as if I haven't considered getting a transfer tank for the bed. The idea of 100+ gallons of high test right outside my rear slider put me off to it. Ditto! I'll have 19 gallons mid-ship and 38 gallons in the rear on Big Blue. I plan to drive the wheels off the truck on many long trips, and at the hoped-for 14 MPG the range of a 19 gallon tank isn't going to cut it. It’s nice to have plenty of gas. Going to Winnemucca Nevada in our 1978 E150 with a 351W, get to Denio Junction and no gas, their tanks didn’t meet code and they couldn’t afford new ones. Didn’t have enough to get to the next stop which I think was Winnemucca. Had to go north to Fields Oregon to fuel up. Quite the add on! In Winnemucca I bought two five gallon gas cans, filled them and carried them on the roof rack to get home.
  14. https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/d/grants-pass-83-ford-f250-4wd-lb/7030891184.html Sounds good, and reasonable on the price.
  15. What’s PDC? Either I don’t know or bad brain flatulence! Edit: Power Distribution Center?
  16. Thought I’d throw this in. I’ve seen them on electrical contractor trucks. They are spendy and fairly heavy, and I’m sure better, smaller ones are out there. I would think fairly quick on pumping up tires. https://www.harborfreight.com/9-gallon-212cc-135-psi-wheelbarrow-air-compressor-epa-iii-69783.html Edit: won’t meet any size requirements I think you have!
  17. Great story isn't it? I've been following it along a little bit. I was a crazy Steve McQueen fan as a kid, and have been ever since. All because of Bullitt and the Bullitt Mustang. It was one of the best sounding cars I had ever heard...I can't remember if it was straight piped or what, but the sound was intoxicating. Unfortunately for us Ford fans, the car itself was a bit of a turd as a pursuit car...lol. If you read any of the behind the scenes story, the 440 4spd Charger would walk away from the 390 Mustang like it was parked. One of the reasons they left the skinny tires on the Charger was to handicap it against the Mustang. At the end of the day, it didn't matter. They were two very iconic cars though, and were (and still are) universally loved by all. By the way, that Mustang is going up for auction next month on Mecum. I think there is a big auction going on in Kissimmee starting a month from today. https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0120-397388/1968-ford-mustang-gt-bullitt/ It is! I saw the auction news, thought maybe they changed their mind. Hadn’t heard that the Charger would walk away from it, (blasphemy!), what cool cars!
