  1. I would check the vacuum line going to the tranny.
  2. We all know the prices those go for. I've seen a few modern options for bullnose trucks, but they're way more than I care to pay for a ranch truck, and I don't care for the look of them anyway. I may look into building custom brackets that space the bumper out, kind of like they did with the old brush trucks, Just not as far out. That sounds cool! I’d like to see that!
  3. Haha...well, I don't know about butter face, but the best view of a Flareside is from the rear...lol. Otherwise, it just looks like any old 2wd from the front;). Just kiddin'...kind of. I actually love the front of the truck too, and I'm quite fond of the Bullnose lines overall. It's funny how so many of us have different tastes in vehicles and build them completely different from one another. Anyway, on to WHYDTYTT, with the help of a friend I got my new to me Ford sliding rear window installed. It popped in there pretty easily, and so far I'm pretty happy with it. For 35 bucks and a little elbow grease, I'd have to say it's my best Junkyard find yet (in the bang for buck category). Adding some creature comforts to this old truck is going to make it MUCH nicer to drive. Radio/stereo and speakers, delay wipers, sliding rear window, a cigarette lighter socket (for charging my iPhone, etc), etc. More things to come, but so far they are the major highlights. As for the Nova Scotia scenery, yes we do have some of that. You kind of forget about it when it's right there at arms length all the time. We have some great motorcycle roads, and the Cabot Trail is a real treat and is as nice an area as you will find all the way up or down the east coast imho. My plan is to start doing some trips with the old Bullnose. Having been away from motorcycling for a few years now, my wife and I have been getting the urge to do some more traveling again...even just locally, like we used to do. On a motorcycle, it's nothing to do 300-500 miles on a nice sunny Sunday just to see some scenery and have lunch somewhere different. I'll be traveling much slower in the old truck of course, but it would still be just as fun imho. I'd love to make it all the way to Oklahoma, but even if I only made it as far as New England it would still be a treat. I used my truck for a dump run again. Just been driving it and it’s running well. Get back to working on it this spring, God willing! And I agree Cory, I want to get back to discovering places not too far away.
  4. Wow, you can buy a cardboard one and 2-3 spares and be money ahead!
  5. Interesting, veddy interesting! (i.e. Arte Johnson) Something I’ve observed, and I could be wrong of course. My 86 to me has more power and more response than my 94 F250 with the 460 did. It didn’t have the MAF Sensor though. Horsepower and torque.
  6. My bad! I was thinking styleside in my head, but that’s not what it says. Well... now I’m curious! Edit: Unless it’s for connectors C354 and C355.
  7. Interesting that they’re the same color.
  8. I still think R/LG is when you use the controller to use the trailer brakes only, not pressing the truck brake pedal.
  9. You should have trailer brake lights through the trailer connector from wires LG/O and O/LB.
  10. Page 77 of the EVTM shows the wiring for the trailer option for the stop lamps. I went down this road, my trailer wiring was messed up at the trailer plug. Different scenario, but hopefully this will help. Edit: I am not sure why it shows two ways to the stop/brake lamps, different wording on different pages. One thing I think I figured out is that mine has factory trailer option, but someone had replaced the controller, which didn’t work anymore. I removed it as part of the wiring mess it had. If I need a trailer brake someday, reckon I’ll start over. Edit again: After looking at it, my guess is that if you just use the trailer brakes the brake lights come on. I think I figured this out and forgot! Frustrating sometimes!

  12. Also, if that outer bearing gets “crooked” it won’t want to come off. Might take a good look and see, then straighten it with punch or something similar. That’s if it isn’t seized as mentioned.

  14. Agreed. I've seen the roof of Bullnose cabs rotted out without having had visors installed. I've never been much of a fan of visors myself, but I know a lot of people do love them. My old 1980 Bullnose I had years ago had a roof spoiler on the back of the cab, and although it was sealed well, it was full of screws too. It was on the truck when I bought it, so I left it alone. It's not something that I would have installed personally. Looks nice!
