  1. A thermostat is there to warm up the engine to operating temperature. It has zero effect once fully open. Make sure your shroud fits well. Use the stock fan & clutch. I have walked this path many, many times. (Not w/ my truck, but with others that had "better ideas") Ford has a huge and professional engineering department. They do extensive testing in all conditions. The 460 was their workhorse engine from the '70's until '97...
  2. The plate looks like it is glued on right there! If it's pitted buy the FRPP backing plate for ~$35. I already told you, use the ∆ mark and you'll be fine. I'm not really sure why you didn't just get one of the other chains we discussed..
  3. LMC is known for their rubber not being right. If it is a factory slider the frame will be the width of the track, and it takes a 'special' gasket. If it's aftermarket the window will have a flange that fits a single glass gasket. Change the troublesome plastic latch for a metal C.R.Laurence DVL-2 They're about $10 on Amazon
  4. I'm not sure what is wrong, but I am sure it's not right. Usually they spray out the pin hole when the pump is not turning. Maybe you have a crimped/kinked return line? It's really pointless for me to guess.
  5. I've had the Lakewood bell housing that fits. It's a good enough piece, but it's not stock, or cheap....
  6. The auto and manual starters are in the same place (flywheel and ring gear are same diameter, plate # is the same for both) Bill has one. Maybe he can photo it on a grid, or better yet, put it on a piece of card stock and spray paint over it lightly. 👂
  7. How could I know, from Connecticut? You set the relief pressure with a spring and a stack of washers. Do you have any way to check the high side pressure with the pump running?
  8. It's anerobic. It cures because there is no air. (The plastic tube or bottle is inhibited) You can use primer P or T, but it's not really necessary.
  9. That PST will be doing yeoman's work in this case, but I'm pretty sure I will hold.
  10. It definitely allows more advance, which generally= performance -&- economy. (The title of a great Vizard book!)
  11. It could be done. The only issue I see is the curved louver. But, that could be cut on the rear and sides, then stitched on the fold. This makes it easy to bend. Then you weld up the little slots and it's crazy stiff.
  12. I would say the pump is not fixed... Have you ever done a C2 before? Did you watch some idiot on YouTube? I'm in my 60's. I don't trust everything I find on the Internet.
  13. That'll happen if you turn the wheel with the engine off. I JUST told you that....
  14. EGR needs some back pressure to work.... Do you have a muffler on your truck, CJ?
  15. I have my moments.... I see that all the 300 EGR's are kinda offset. I need to find one of those with a bleed down, and a good number for an inline vacuum valve like on my truck. (but I no longer have ANY ewissions equipment, so I gotta go digging)
  16. Jenny would be the way to go but I lost mine many years ago Man did he do everything the hard way. A power washer is cheap and can be used on a lot of stuff as does a gas power air compressor and cheap spray gun for paint. Remember I did everything he was doing so I know how to get it done and not bust your azz. I found you need to scrape off the heavy grease & dirt. Putty knife, old butter knife screw driver all work good to get the first wave of dirt off. If the stuff is really baked on and not worried about paint or turning ALUM. dark oven cleaner works pretty good. I have also used Zep Purple de-greaser in my parts washer. It will take paint off parts and think turn ALUM. dark but been a while since I used it. It will also do a number on your skin so wear long rubber gloves as you should with any of the de-greasers. I guess you could cut it, I did not. I have mixed Simple Green and Awsome degreaser (dollar store) in a pump sprayer and sprayed it on everything keeping it wet. Can use stiff brushes to work the degreaser into areas and loosen it up. I then use a gas powered power washer to rinse everything off. If I have to I re-spray with the pump sprayer and let it soak in even more and rinse with the power washer. BTW I do not use anything in the power washer, it is just water to rinse off what I have degreaser on. Dave ---- Do you know Hot Lap tire dressing? (from the discussion about Life Savers) You can use Swab concrete cleaner (from Gunk) to get greasy things like frames spotless! Without any petroleum hitting the dirt.

Scrub it in with a dollar store toilet brush I have my ways.... 😉
  18. It should be on the door jamb sticker
  19. Have you read this thread over on FTE, CJ?
  20. Don't go for that jailbait CJ! (unless you're in Utah. 😉) I think it 'could' work. 😆 (9D448 is the base part number for ALL Ford EGR's) Lemme find an EGR vacuum valve from MY trucks diagram to go with...
  21. Steam Jenny... Done! You should watch this guy in Indiana struggle with his STUPOR DOODIE. (F-450) 😂 I can relate! (but I can't do imbeds)
  22. See what I've said to CJett about Send-Cut-Send..
