  1. I don't think it's plastic deformation , I think it's the ravages of corrosion. Just last week I was discussing how much even a grade "butter" piece or 3/8 threaded rod was rated for. There's just no way any of these things are seeing that tension at 40 #' My ENTIRE engine is held together with the cheapest stainless fasteners I could find, and none of them are like that.
  2. I'm not sending you hunting. I thought the rabbit hole was right there in front of you... Be careful up on ladders. 😉
  3. Safari could be either, but Chrome is more than likely a mobile device. Bing or edge is going to be a laptop or desktop computer
  4. There wasn't a pin. That's just where the map took me when I clicked the name. I waited a couple of minutes, and it didn't change. Of course I had to zoom WAY out to figure out where I was.
  5. I can't say if it's a draw. I've NEVER been able to view it. Do you have page hit metrics, Gary?
  6. You were waterboarding Scotties engine. 💡
  7. I appreciate that. I definitely should carefully assess the ENTIRE battlefield before taking up arms against what I feel (and can prove) is a company looking to profit off uninformed individuals. Collateral damage is something to be avoided at most costs. At the same time. I don't want to see this great forum, which is seen as being "The best place for Ford truck information on the web", becoming a billboard for thieves. I broach no quarter with people like that.

  9. Well, like I said, I didn't get past the video (or even halfway through) so I missed entirety that he would actually want one. I never said a thing about HIM or to him, and I have no reason to temper my assessment, other than to say the person running this scam is not an imbecile. They are a charlatan and deserve to be called out! When they can avoid the laws of thermodynamics I will retract what I said. Until then, it's a steaming pile Ban me if you like...
  10. Is there a way to make the members map alphabetical instead of chronological? I don't have any control F and it's a real pita to scroll hundreds of names on a phone. Thanks! Also, I just looked up bulletproofF250 who I know is in Waterford/New London and the map took me to the Aleutain Islands!
  11. It works the same with that connector by the ash tray too...
  12. They are diodes! 💡 I haven't seen an automotive one in a long time that wasn't bipolar, but he did note that the one in the middle is wedge base. Different than the 1156. on either side. I have Hy-Po's and Sylvania in my dash and they all can be inserted either way.
  13. The REALLY dangerous ones are the torsion springs that wind up over the door. I've had an extension spring break in the middle of the night, at the house I had in the '80's (it didn't have a safety cable strung through the middle) That thing went right through a stucco wall and poked out in the basement! 😳
  14. E7 heads won't fit any 4V intake I've ever seen. You need either the lower plenum with a $100 plate and plugs. Or aluminum plates to adapt a carb intake with an intake gasket each side of the plates. Price was an innovator in CNC parts back then. EFI heads have different chambers and valve angles. You can get away with putting them on a carb motor but you can't have a hairy cam, or true flattops without cutting proper valve reliefs.
  15. If you're over at FTE I recall there's a guy (Alvin in AZ) that has a few threads about rebuilding the Zf5, and what to look out for. You might get some insight about that 3rd gear synchro or dogs, whichever is problematic.
  16. Precision Transmissions seem to have some good tutorials. I haven't watched their channel in a while. Thanks for the link!
  17. C6's are strong but they're really good at turning power into hot fluid. Will seems to have started a thread, but I don't wade in to something I don't know inside & out I'm not sure where you'd find a tailshaft housing and output shaft, but you can certainly do it. I'm not certain if a C6 has an integral adapter, or if you'd need one of those along with the transfer case shift linkage. If you're rebuilding a 2wd it's a good opportunity to get your speedo adjusted right for whatever gear and tires you intend to use
  18. Awesome! Certainly LED's give you 8-10x more lumens per watt and have no filament to break from road vibration. Seems like Ford's engineering/lighting department was on point locating these lamps where they did. It's nice to see what you're stepping out into.
  19. Here we have something that's demonstrably absurd from an engineering perspective, and doubly so given the environment it's supposed to work in. Then add that people's lives and livelihood would depend on it and you have a recipe for failure. My only takeaway is that it's hopping on the "it's electric" express to 'woo' land and trying to pilfer some federal 'sustainability' $$$ ETA: I actually didn't read far enough to see that Ray had put a deposit. (much like the timing chain video) Apologies, I'm sorry for pointing out the obvious.
  20. I can feel your frustration. Sometimes it's better to roll with what's already working! I'm looking at the schematic and I don't see how you've got power to each side and not the middle.... I have to consider something like this, but I don't know if I want a better look at the mud and trash on my floors.
  21. Help me out. It's all one harness, and you can't get power to the middle socket closest to the connector? Did you try swapping bulbs around?
  22. I have to imagine the cable came off the sheave on one* side and got jammed up in the block. When the door got forced down it racked in the tracks and bound up. For anyone who works on garage doors, your first move is to take a pair of vice-grips and clamp them to the flat flange of the track, so the door can't fall any farther and hurt someone. Either try to reverse the motor, or lift/prop the low side to help straighten it out. Pop the arm's emergency release if the motor limiting pressure switches aren't adjusted right. Once you get some weight off you can take a closer look and figure out what happened to the spring loaded cable that caused it to bind. I'm glad no one was hurt, Chris, and the truck is okay too. Sorry your old door became a casualty!
  23. Maybe should cross post to the marketplace?
