  1. Now it’s a 9-13 arrival date. Must be a hot commodity! Bummer!
  2. Welcome! Glad you joined. Jim is right, "editions" like Bull Of The Woods, Texas, etc were not done at the factory. As he said, sometimes that was done by a single dealer, a group of dealers, or a region. But that is intriguing nonetheless. We'd like to see pictures of the truck and decals. Also, where's home? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we can add you with a city/state or a zip code.
  3. Welcome, Mitch! Glad you joined. What part of NJ? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we can add you with a city or zip. And I'll refrain from telling my NJ jokes.
  4. Thanks for the intro. As far as a repair, I've not seen anyone say they found something that will fit. But hopefully someone will come forward with an easy fix. And yes, that is a one-year unicorn.
  5. Wow! That is a LOT of current! You have as much at idle as I do at full tilt. You may want to go to a delay regulator to get away from the startup squeal. But I'm anxious to see. As for owning two Powermasters, I understand that to be questionable. But owning three, if only in parts, shows intelligence. Let's correct that on Sept 4th. It is a free upgrade.
  6. Ok, sports fans, it looks like we need a white vinyl. Thanks!
  7. I think we can remove the search box, but I'll have to do some research on it. As for the banner, I'll have to look into that as well. Might not get to it right now, so if not please remind me. But I did just turn a search function off, so which one did I kill?
  8. The C6 is strong, but a gas and power hog. Unlike later model auto transmissions the torque converter is always slipping, which loses power and causes heat. If you go with a manual and want to drive on the highway I'd highly recommend going with the ZF5 manual. That gives you overdrive and reduces the losses significantly. And I believe it is the only one available for your engine with OD.
  9. I'd put the support on first. Then mount the components. Not only would I, that's what I did.
  10. Well, after spending the morning posting about the show on 16 Facebook pages, and it has been shared on several more, I spent the afternoon working on the cover. First I shoved the cover in and it went into the canister better than it ever has. So I tried it with the motor and it came out as well as it ever has - in spite of what I'm sure are several damaged glides that are binding in the tracks - more of which later. So I worked on the middle brackets and kick stands. With them spaced properly and the kick stands leveling the rails there's 62 1/8" between the rails at every spot. I'm confident that it is "right" this time. Then I examined some of the damaged glides. Here's a pic of several of them, most of which are oriented such that the red arrow represents the direction the sharp corner I rounded off approached them. Man, what carnage! Pretty obvious that this has been a problem. And the one in the lower right is typical of those which have been just damaged. The sharp corner catches them and deforms them so that they bind in the track, which I suspect is what several of the ones that are in there now look like. This thing should work very easily when I get the bad ones replaced.
  11. I got this input from Skylar at Highwayman Signs: So we have a decision to make: Do we want to to go with a clear sticker with black printing, or with a white vinyl with the logo on it? The vinyl is to be applied to the outside of the glass and Skylar says it is much heavier duty and will last longer. And they are the same price. Here's a shot of a sticker they make for the local chamber of commerce:
  12. Thanks, John. I look forward to meeting both of you.
  13. Welcome! Glad you joined. But you probably missed my email that asked you to go the New Members Start Here folder, read the guidelines posted there, and then introduce yourself by starting a new thread in that folder. Don't worry, many miss the email and post w/o introducing themselves. But please assure us you've read the guidelines? That's important because we hold everyone to them.
  14. Just in case you miss it, there's an announcement about dinner before the truck show in the 2021 Truck Show - Sept 4th folder and then the thread called Dinner Friday Evening, Sept 3rd. Please go there to let me know if you can come so I'll know how much food to have.
  15. This year with the advance of the Delta variant of COVID the dinner on Friday evening before the show will be held in the Church of Christ gym, 1900 W. Rogers, Skiatook. This is for all members and guests that are coming to the show. It will be at 6:00 PM, but in order to keep everyone safe we are asking that attendees wear a mask when inside and not eating. This isn't required, but just a request. Please let me know how many hope to be there so we can have enough food - Macs BBQ.
  16. Hope so. John/Machspeed said he's going to come up with some variations over the weekend and then I plan to start a poll to see what people think. We'll let the members decide and then turn them in for printing.
  17. Just spent quite a bit of time with Skylar at the Skiatook office of Highwayman Signs. Bottom line is that they can do it, but need two weeks of lead time. So, since the show is 4 weeks & 3 days from today we have a max of 2 weeks to decide. Here are some of my notes: Size: Can do any size, but a 3 x 4" is what she mentioned so may be somewhat standard? And the price is based on how many she can get on a sheet of the material, so she will check to see if there is an optimum size. Material: They can do regular vinyl, window cling, and Clear Focus. But she recommended "sticker" which adheres via static electricity and can go on either the inside or outside of a window, or maybe even a bumper? It would be clear with the image on it, and stays on quite well - sun makes it adhere even better. Shape: They can do rectangular, square, or round. Or they can cut to follow the outline of the truck, which I assume means we can give them a cut line. Color: I forgot to ask if adding color adds to the cost, but asked her that when I sent her an email with two of our samples. Price: She's going to email me a quote on 50 @ 3x4".
  18. Great! I’ll call them today and go in if they think it would help. They are only a couple of miles away, which true of about everything in this little town. Thanks!
  19. Thanks, Randy! I understood that. And I appreciate the time it took to write it up. John/Machspeed is doing the art work in Corel Draw using vectors, IIRC. So it should be good for printing, and I think he just converted it to jpg for displaying. You mentioned Highwayman Signs. We actually have one of those in Skiatook, and in reading the "About" page I now see that it is a local NE OK company. Do you know anything about them? Everyone - Please keep the ideas coming in as we are going to run a poll and decide which one to go with, and we need to do so ASAP.
  20. Thanks for the input, Jonathan. As for the QR code, I just played with it in Paint and stretched it to 150% vertically while leaving the width the same and it worked just fine with my iPhone X's camera. So apparently we can make them whatever width and height we want. Here 'tis and y'all can see if it works for you:
