  1. That is a decent price for what looks to be good bezels. And I think those are the "medium gray metallic w/o bright bead", which makes them for the 1985/86 trucks. Right?
  2. That's a good question, David. I can ask the police dept.
  3. Good find, Bill! Incorporating later stuff should make it easier. And now I understand what you bought from Diode Dynamics. As for the CD controls, those do seem strange. But if you get used to it... But will the shifter hit if eject a CD when in Reverse or Park?
  4. Thanks, David! That's far better than me guessing. Btw, I was at Sam's buying water, Cokes, & DP for the teens to sell at the show. So really glad you jumped in.
  5. Or, you could bring it to the swap meet and show here in Skiatook on sept 4th.
  6. Matthew Mattix has suggested that we have someone with a portable dyno come to the show. I think that's a great idea, although I don't have time to coordinate that this year. However, if anyone knows of someone that does that kind of thing please let me know. I've seen them at shows before and they charge you a fee per pull, so if there's someone that wants to do that we could discuss it.
  7. Yep, there are differences. From the 1986 Standard & Utility Parts Catalog (Documentation/Reference/Standard & Utility Parts Catalog): http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/standard--utility-parts-catalog.html 389571: 3/8-16 x 31/32 Grade 5 389572: 5/16-18 x 59/64 Grade 5
  8. Apparently the clutch size matters. See below. Let me see if I can find the two different part numbers...
  9. According to the '94 "final version" of the MPC there were two grilles that were introduced in 1980 - chrome and black. But the chrome grille was used in both '80 and '81 while the black grille was replaced in '81 by the E1TZ version. However, notice that the dark argent grille has an E1 prefix on it. So it is possible there was an E0 dark argent grille and it, too, was replaced. What color is your grille? And pics would certainly help.
  10. By the way, I put you on the map. Just picked a winery in that valley, which is probably close enough. But if you want me to move you let me know where to. And, to make it easy: Bullnose Forum/Member's Map: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/members-map.html
  11. Sounds like you have had quite a bit of experience. A 4" stroke on a 351C with a .060 overbore? That's right where the 351M for Dad's truck is sitting, although in its case the stroke is from a factory 400 crank. Yep, torque! But a twin turbo'd 351 would be hard to beat. Blue, my twin turbo'd 3.5L must be right there with my NA 460/7.5L as I'd much prefer to tow with it than the 460.
  12. Makes sense - that you'll build something else. Doesn't make sense to be bolted to the frame and the body when there are rubber bushings between. Will be interested to see what you build. My MoF/wife of 52 years makes it in Big Blue on step bars. But Big Blue may not be as tall as your Bronco when it is done. However, he's pretty tall given the solid axle & superduty springs.
  13. Wow! That is one cool story! I have a few, but none like that. So, "it started life" implies it is different now. Tell us more?
  14. By the way, we are in a period of flux on the forum. The people who host the forum are moving us to another server in the coming days and in order to ensure I can access the forum I've taken the redirect off. What that means in layman's terms is that if you click the link in an email notification you will be taken to the forum directly and you won't see the menu at the top of the page. But if you go to www.garysgaragemahal.com you'll see the forum and the menu. Sorry for the confusion, but there's nothing we can do about it at the moment.
  15. Yeah, I'm not to keen on that bar either. Can you cut it off? And yes, it does look mint! Excellent interior. On the door cards, if you want to paint them SEM has the paint. Dunno if anyone in Australia carries it or if they'll ship to you, but one member in the UK found it there. Anyway, info here: Documentation/Specifications/Interior Paint.
  16. I've never seen any like those. They look like they'd be solid.
  17. Welcome! And G'day! Sure glad you joined. So, what part of Australia? We have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and can add you with a city. And you'll find we have other members there. Nice trucks! It is particularly heartening to see one that you bought new, but to have another one where you are only the 2nd owner is super. But does the support for the grille guard actually run done to the step? I've never seen that before.
  18. Harbor Freight sells a decent leak-down tester.
  19. I don't know how many slats there are, but will count them to see. And yes, self-inflicted wounds sting even worse! I knew this was some kind of a self-inflicted wound. I've been telling the guys at PE that every time I can or write. So they are quite well aware that I'm not claiming it is a warranty issue. But they've been very helpful and I cannot say enough about how helpful they've been.
  20. Well, I tell you the folks at Pace Edwards are REALLY helpful! Today I got a large package in the mail. By actual count there are 102 end caps/glides in it, even though the invoice says there are "just" 100. I suspect that will let me put new ones in every slat in the cover, and have many left over.
  21. Ok, let me see what I can figure out on them...

  23. Scott - I think I deleted the gray banner. But you tell me. I deleted line 39 in "No Header" which said " " As shown below:
