  2. Glad you are making progress. But what is this about sitting on the rails in Houston?
  3. This is to update you on the plans to move to the AWS servers. Basically we have only two things that need to be worked out before we move: Security Certificate: We need to acquire an https security certificate which we will then install. This shouldn't take too long but needs to be in place before we move. Joining Process: One of the reasons we are moving is because the powers-that-be at Nabble made changes that broke our joining process. We've been limping along with the broken one for over a year now, but we recently installed a previous version of Nabble that removed the changes and we are testing to make sure the process is what we want. I can't really give you a precise time when we will move, but it should be essentially transparent to you as the old URL's will still work to get you here. But in order to effect the change we will have to shut the forum down for a few hours so I can download a backup of what we have on the Nabble servers, upload that backup to the AWS servers, and redirect the internet to the AWS servers. We will give you plenty of notice. And we plan to do it at a time when it won't cause problems for many people.
  4. Note: I've unpinned this thread as I'm creating a new one about the hosting plans that I plan to pin.
  5. Alan - That's a cool project. Sounds like your wife is like Janey - an enabler. Just fyi, some of the F100's have a smaller bolt circle on the wheels. You can read about that on the F100's tab on the page at Documentation/Bullnose FAQ's. And if you go with a 460 you need to be aware that the engine crossmember for a 460, or diesel, is different. It is "dented" to allow the oil filter/cooler fitting to fit. So you might have to run a remote oil filter to get it to work. Last, when you run 35's you'll need to re-gear. I'm running 33's with stock 3.55 gearing and the 460 manages them fine. But 35's would be questionable with that gearing. Also, I see why you asked for multiple stickers! I hope to get them shipped today.
  6. That's exactly what I did on Big Blue. Worked well. PROGRESS!
  7. The ditty about a 460 passing anything but a gas station has some truth in it. I don't think there is anything you can do to make a 460 sip gas. But mine has pretty good torque. And for the time in which they were designed they were some of the strongest engines out there. However, time has moved on and there are lots of engines today that have the torque of a 460 and will blow it away on MPG. The latest 3.5L Ecoboost has 400 HP and 500 lb-ft, which compares quite favorably with what my 460 is supposed to make - 360-370 HP and 500 lb-ft. I can't say how the new EB engine does on fuel, but my 2015 got 11 MPG pulling our 25' Sea Ray 2700 miles at 65 MPH, and will turn in 20 MPG if you run 65 and don't use the speed control. Big Blue gets 11 MPG running light at the same speed.
  8. Thanks. Let's see if they work for Chad.
  9. Yes, I see the reinforcement. You are getting creative!
  10. Right! What is that "1" preceding the MPG? Us 460 owners aren't used to that.
  11. Welcome! Glad you joined. Where's home? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and can add you with a city/state or post code. Nice truck. And nice carb. But let's SEE it!
  12. Yes, they are 'spensive! But even the platforms that Ford used for the other seats are going for about half that, and you don't get the fancier seats.
  13. Cool! I enjoy going to shows, but haven't for a while so need to get started again. It is fun talking to the other owners - even if you don't win.
  14. Beautiful! (And I like the truck, too. ) Yes, you can do that. Anyone can do that. Grew up on Ft Gibson reservoir, but at the other end of it. Up around Locust Grove, just south of the Low Water Dam. My folks had a fishing cabin there and we spent 4 or 5 weeks each summer there as well as many times the rest of the year. Have skied from there to your end of the lake many times. But are you suggesting holding the truck show there? Man, there is a LOT of set up and it sure is easier to do it here than that far away.
  15. Welcome! Glad you joined. Nice looking truck! Tell us more about it? Would you like to be on our map? It is at Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu.
  16. That's the article I referenced in Hemmings Makes Mistakes! Glad it is available for viewing online now so y'all can see it. Decent piece save for the errors. (And when I find errors in an article I start wondering what else is wrong in it that I've not caught.)
  17. Chad - On the page below in the upper right corner you can see the R/Y wire for Ckt 640 and it says "Hot In Start Or Run". And on the page below you can see the ammeter circuitry. Basically the ammeter sits between the battery on the left and the alternator/cab circuits on the right. If the alternator is supplying power to the battery that power will flow across the "shunt", and since the shunt is a fairly small wire a voltage drop proportional to the current will be developed, and that will show up on the ammeter. Power to the battery causes it to show Charge, and power from the battery causes it to show Discharge. Technically you can use either of those wires for power, but I wouldn't. They are not intended for that and aren't fused, so if you cause a short you are going to burn up the wiring. And they are hot at all times.
  18. Check your pinouts with Ford’s on the page at Documentation/Electrical/Gauges. And switched power in in Ckt 640, the R/Y wire.
