  1. I was thinking that the truck that is 2nd from the right on the top row is Maroon, and that color was only used 1980 - 82. And with the emblem in the grille it had to be '82. But playing with that pic I am not sure it is Maroon. Might it be black?
  2. I agree on the body lines. Not sure I agree on the mirrors. What color is the 2nd from right truck on the top row? What years was that color used?
  3. Thanks, Dane. I am continuing to tweak it as I think of things, such as the HVAC system with the larger compressor. And I just added a bit about data logging and changing the tune of the EFI system to the very last entry.
  4. Slim - Welcome to the forum! You probably missed the email you were sent asking you to make your first post an introduction in the New Members Start Here folder. The reason we ask that is two fold. First, we are a community and we want to get to know each other. But second, we have the guidelines posted in that folder and we hold everyone to them so want to ensure you have a chance to read them. So, can you assure me that you have read them?
  5. Thanks, Cory! You've seen far more of these things than I have, so I appreciate the input. I'm still going to fiddle with it some, especially re formating as I don't "Suspension" being on the bottom of Page 1 and then the rest of the suspension bits being on Page 2. But there's no room on Page 2 for even one more line, so I'll see what I can move around to get things grouped together. If anyone has more suggestions please lay them on me! I'm all eyes.
  6. Gary, Don't get me wrong, I love all the mods and gadgets and stuff, and I certainly appreciate all the time and effort you've put into the truck, but now that they're 40 years old, and older, I really like hearing the history of the truck. Maybe it's just me, I dunno haha. Did it spend the majority of its life on a farm in Arkansas, or did a little old lady in Nebraska only drive it on Sundays!! Maybe it is more of a local thing for me, since so many classics come from away, but still, lots of them are indeed local, including the 70 year old truck I have now. Based on my own experience at car shows, just as many people want to know the history of a truck as much as what was done to it (Modded, or restored, or not). The ladies (and some men) ask about the color, and if it is original. Ok guys, please re-read the spec card. I've revised it significantly, so it needs to be looked at very closely - again. Please. I don't really know much more about the truck's history than what I've added, although I do know that Vernon bought the truck in Georgia and took it to Florida planning to use it to pull a travel trailer all over the US in his retirement. But because of the shoddy work that was done on it, seemingly at every turn, he finally threw in the towel in January of 2017 and I acquired it. But I don't really want to get into the thing, so is what I have sufficient? What else on the history would be desired? FYI, I removed the bit about fuselinks replaces with fuses to gain space for the instrumentation section. And I added the front bumper line as well as the step bars. Please review!
  7. Cool! It is at least an '82 with the badge in the grille. But while it has a tach, headliner, and insulation package I don't see anything that tells whether it is a base model or what. Nor what engine.
  8. You can use kerosene, but as it isn't as thin/volatile as gasoline it won't cut the crud loose quite as well. However, at the price of gas and if you have some kerosene then it would be worth a try. It sure can't hurt anything.
  9. That's a good idea, Cory! One I'd never have thought of. I think I can come up with most of that stuff quite easily. I'll work on that in a bit and then let y'all know when I've updated it so you can take a look.
  10. I think you are right, that one looks stretched. You can find the part numbers on the same page I referenced, and I believe you'll find is D8TZ 2A651-A. The D8 means it first came out in '78 and it was used at least through '89, so should be available.
  11. Another EFI'd 460 on here, Bill's Darth, is a crewcab. Maybe that's why.
  12. Big Blue is a regular cab truck. And the on-board air system is a Harbor Freight Fortress 1.5 HP unit. Yep, it is 110V AC, which is why I have the 3000 watt inverter. I took the system apart and put the compressor and controls in the toolbox and the tank under the fender in front of the RR wheel.
  13. Wow! That is wonderful!
  14. Haven't heard from Karla @ DB yet, but we did take BB on a 165 mile trip today. Have a cousin I've not seen in quite a while in Sapulpa, so took the back roads down to see him. Then the back roads to a quilt shop for Janey. Then the back roads to Muskogee for lunch, and finally the turnpike home running at 70 MPH. So of the 165 miles only 50 of them were cruising and the rest were speeding up and slowing down. And that begat 12.55 MPG. Not great, but not bad either. Hopefully we can take it on a real cruise soon and see what it'll do. But, everything worked perfectly, so I'm happy.
  15. Thanks, Dane. That sounds like a good plan. Still, if anyone has suggestions I'm all eyes.
  16. Daniel - Glad you joined! Nice truck! I especially like that it is original. (And, I like the color scheme as it appears to be the same as Big Blue's.) We have a map, which you can see on the page at Bullnose Forum/Member's Map, and we could add you if you'd like.
  17. I think you've done really well. It is unrealistic to expect to get everything, and it is really unnecessary to get it that clean.
  18. Wow! That's is total failure. Hope there was no other damage.
  19. Thanks, guys. But I'm not looking for kudos, although I do appreciate them. Instead, I'm looking for upgrades. What changes need to be made? Should it be shortened? Am I missing anything? For instance, I have nothing in there about the medium-duty radio bezel, but might people want to know about it? I've said nothing about instrumentation, but might add these points: INSTRUMENTATION: Wide-band air/fuel ratio meter Rocketman-converted voltmeter Aftermarket voltmeter, oil pressure, & coolant temp gauges ICVR replaced with true voltage regulator to ensure accurate readings on factory fuel level, coolant temp, and oil pressure gauges Altimeter Is that too much? What needs to change?
  20. Try Documentation/Driveline/Brakes and then the Parking Brake tab on the far right.
  21. That's a really interesting read! Thanks! I enjoyed that, and had never heard of it. Was that thing actually right on the edge of Phoenix? If so, wouldn't that pulse kill radio and TV for a couple of seconds?
