  1. Hard to tell w/o a part number. I'll see if I can remember to pull Dad's out and take a pic of them.
  2. Grumpin - You can't find a replacement for the oil pressure switch? I found one easily, so I'll get you the source if that's what you mean. But, you are right - there's never a dull moment at my shop. Jonathan - Are you saying the hole in the carpet didn't fit the t-case shifter? Or what? I'm not sure I follow. And I think the E4OD requires the tall cover as well. At least that's what was on Huck, and it is a massive transmission. And that reminds me that I need to contact Trent again about that linkage.
  3. Yep, this is going to take a while. But, it'll be worth it in the end. I did catch the discussion about the 1345, but wasn't sure if it was all 1345's. So thought when I take it in I'll ask Scotty to check that out. And I will have to go with the taller cover, which I already have from Shaun from when I put the ZF in Dad's truck. That one has the cutout for the TC and ZF, so it'll go on Big Blue and the one I got on Huck with no cutouts will be used on Dad's truck - after I cut it for the t-case shifter. (Huck had the one that came through the floor.) So I'll probably have to have new carpet, although I did get by on Dad's with the old carpet. And, our friend in Alabama scored another vicarious purchase on Friday of a ZF shift boot which includes the inner boot. But, I see what you are saying about the t-case boot.
  4. Welcome! Glad you found us! Boy, the IDI guys are multiplying like rabbits around here. Two today in fact. Must be something in those engines. And the factory turbo is icing on the cake. You need to start a build thread in the main section so we can follow your journey and learn as we do. By the way, we have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map) and I'd be happy to you to it if you'd give me town/city.
  5. I guess, if you are game that would be good. 12.2 is said to be a good one, although I wasn't having problems with 12.1.
  6. Hmmm, I'm now on 12.2. I wonder if that's it. Thanks.
  7. That's true - Big Blue doesn't have a problem in most conditions in 2wd as it does have Trutrac.
  8. Nice looking truck and not a bad price. BUT, a 460 will give you ~11 MPG if you are lucky, and probably more like 10 with the C6 auto. As me how I know - Big Blue can crowd 12 with its manual tranny. But a C6 doesn't have an OD nor lock-up torque converter so that 2500 RPM at 65 MPH on Big Blue just went to 2800 and the MPG just went down. And, a 2wd 460 won't have much traction. My brother had one and said he got stuck on wet grass. Plus, the 250's ride harshly, assuming it has the 8600 GVWR springs that most had.
  9. It is nice, but not that nice. And, it isn't a Cleveland engine, if that's what "v8 Cleveland" is meant to say, unless someone has changed the original engine out. The M-Block was used for 1980 and '81 (82 in the F250's and 350's), and they can be mistaken for the Cleveland as they use the same valve covers and several other parts. But the Windsor was phased in during '82 and by '85 the only options in the Bronco were the 4.9L six, 302, and 351W. So if it is a Cleveland it has been swapped in, and that begs the question of what else was done.
  10. I don't know much about the diesels so defer to Jonathan. But I do know that he's right about the lack of OD. Big Blue has essentially the same transmission and 3.55 gears and it turns 2500 RPM at 65 MPH. That's too much for a 460, and even worse for the diesel. My guess is $5500 tops for a 2wd, and that's because it is in the salty region where everything else is rusty. Down here more like what Jonathan said of $4500.
  11. Loving it, Darin! But, isn't it amazing how just an engine swap becomes a full-blown rebuild!?!?
  12. Most people that go to the trouble and expense of adding a blower want as much carburetion as they can get. And that kit is set up to handle a 4bbl, so why put a 2bbl on? As for low RPM, that is the area where a supercharger shines.
  13. Welcome to the forum! Cool truck with a good story. I suggest you start a thread in the main section where you tell use what you've done and do to your truck. And, I'm sure there are other IDI guys on here that will want to connect with you. Speaking of connect, sometimes that's done by finding out who is near you, and to aid that we have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map) and I'd be happy to add you if you'd give me a town/city.
  14. That’s the Tremec 4-speed overdrive. A lot of Bronco’s had it. Gear shift on the left and transfer case lever on the right. Unique floor pan and single piece double shift boot. 👍 Is that the TOD? I'm trying to learn.
  15. Welcome to the forum! How 'bout starting a thread in the main section showing us the truck and allowing you to track what you do to it? Also, where's home? We have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map) and I'd be happy to add you if I new a town or city - but not your exact location.
  16. I've seen this truck advertised someplace else as I remember the pics of the top of the bed sides. I wonder if it is being flipped?
  17. Good question. I don't know. And I don't think I've seen that either.
  18. Time to revive this thead. Or maybe I should say "resurect" it in light of what tomorrow is.The reason is that I'm about to embark on a major re-do of Big Blue, which will include engine work, swapping transmissions, adding EFI, etc. But, there are lots and lots of details that I need to work through regarding those plans, so I'm doing that in a Word document that I will embed here, which will allow you to see my planning and offer suggestions. Please!
  19. That would be Levi? Truck looks nice. But I understand you wanting something that's already been brought up to snuff. And, the good/bad news of it is that you can only get out of a truck about half of what you put into it. So you should be able to find something really nice for what you are willing to spend.
  20. I've had Thrush muffs before, but hadn't heard of red ones. Are they different? As for the tranny, how big of a mess did you make getting the pan off? I always make a huge one.
  21. Dunno. But it was well done. Presumably they used a large body plug and passed wires through it?
