  1. Ok, I added Bronson and the rim shot. And they are BIG, so you can see what happens to the drop-down. What do you think? I can make them smaller and still be able to recognize them, but they don't work down at the size of the others. :nabble_bronson_1_orig::nabble_rimshot_1_orig:
  2. The problem with those two, Bronson and ROTFL, is that they need to be BIG in order to be recognized. But they don't play well with the other, smaller smileys in the smiley menu. And, they cause major line space issues in a paragraph. However, it might be possible to put the bigger ones at the bottom of the menu and only put 3 or 4 on a line. And, users will have to realize that placing them in a post will cause issues with line spacing. What do y'all think? Should we try it?
  3. Jim - I have that on the title bar issue on the list to check out. However, having been on a Disney cruise and supposedly around pirates, I'm told that the proper term is "Arrrr" w/o the "gh".
  4. When I replied via email it created a new thread. I have now been able to fix it and posted successfully in the other thread. And I'll delete this one soon.
  5. I've been entering the HTML string associated with Unicode(s?) Not the Unicode itself, which I've left with the character. UNICORN'S !!!! It seems to show right up, here in the forum. Yes, we can enter the code into our posts, and that works fine. But I can’t put code into the drop-down panel. Only pics. But if we know which ones we want I can do the screen-grab approach to capture them and put them in the panel.
  6. For some reason I can’t reply to your post on the forum, it will via email: Yes, we can enter the code into our posts, and that works fine. But I can’t put code into the drop-down panel. Only pics. But if we know which ones we want I can do the screen-grab approach to capture them and put them in the panel. 7. Yes, it is very nice. And well worth the price. But I agree that I'm not fond of the C6. And I'd really want 4wd.
  8. I think the newer battery trays are much superior than the Bullnose ones. The only issue I see is that the starter relay needs to be relocated, but that's easily done if you go 3G and don't need the outboard regulator.
  9. This is a great site for the bullnose trucks. Over the years I have owned 3 of them and my favourite was an 86 300 np435 3.08 regular cab long box non catalyst 2wd F150. It was the absolute definition of a work truck: simple, reliable, low maintenance and tough. Unfortunately it rusted away. Would just like to thank Gary, yourself and all others who have put in the hours to make this site such a mine of information. I have a question on using the "Quote" function when replying. I have been quoting the entire message and then deleting the unwanted parts of the post that I am replying to. Is there a better way? You are welcome. Glad it works for you. But we are far from done, so help us make it better. Having said that, quoting is an area that needs some help. However, I don't know how to make it better. Perhaps you have a suggestion? At present, if I want to cut a quote up into sections in order to answer them one-by-one I hit the "Quote" button and then do some editing. For instance, I just did that with your message and then had to edit out Jim's part, which you had also quoted. By copying and pasting the "quote author="nic55kel"" and the "/quote" text, along with their characters ahead and behind, I cut it into three sections and commented on each. Or, you could hit Quote three times and just edit each section. That is a work truck, for sure. With the granny low coupled with the 3.08 gears you had enough grunt down low to move anything and high enough top gear to cruise. Glad it is working for you. Not that I know of - yet. But what it begs for is a way to quote multiple people's statements. And the only way I know how to do that is to open another tab and quote the other statements there and copy/paste them.
  10. Well done, Cory! On the brightness, I'm amazed at how much brighter properly done LED brake and tail lights are than regular bulbs. However, the Styleside taillights don't work well with the LED's I've tried and aren't as bright as a regular bulb. So I'm glad you found lights that were well done for a Flareside. I hope we can find good ones for the Stylesides.
  11. Yes, your location was buried in the volumes of email. I new I'd seen it, but couldn't process it when I did 'cause it isn't easy to edit the map via the iPhone. But, I eventually found it and you are now on the map. See what you think, please.
  12. 30 x 30 looks much bigger than the default ones, and that looks odd to me. And I can't edit the default ones. But we could replace all of the 40 defaults and use bigger ones. However, inserting a smiley does cause the line spacing to change, so the bigger the smiley the more spacing there will be.
  13. Welcome!! Beautiful truck. Good find. Odd that it is being imported into Texas from Minnesota, as the direction is usually the other way 'round. But, it sure looks to have been well taken care of, so no matter from whence it came it is a great find. Speaking of Tejas, we have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map) on the menu and I'd be happy to add you if you'd give me a city. You might find that you are a neighbor of someone else on here.
  14. Welcome to the forum! (Sorry I'm late to the party, but I've been on a cruise with the family and there was NO internet coverage.) That's a nice looking truck! Lots and lots of good work. And I really like the video, which I'm going to embed below to make it easier for others to find. But, this says it is Part 8. I've not looked for them, but perhaps you want to share the others on here as well? If so, you can do it via the link approach you used, or I can walk you through how to do it as I've done. Also, we have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map) in the menu and I'd be happy to add you if I had a town.
  15. Now, in news you want to hear: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2019/07/ford-designs-a-pickup-truck-emoji-petitions-unicode-consortium/ So, coming to a phone near you, soon???? It's Blue!!! Jim - I don't think there's a limit to the size of the panel/popup you get when you click the Smiley button above. The site came pre-loaded with 4 rows of 10 smileys each, for a total of 40. I replicated the code that generates the last row to give us 10 more, and then edited the titles and content for each. And the panel got taller to accommodate them, so I'm guessing that it'll take as many rows as we want. However, it doesn't use unicode. Currently we are using gif or png files, with the gif's being the animated ones. Basically what happens is that I save a pic file in about 23 x 23 pixels and give the system a link to it in the code that generates the panel/popup. So to use unicode simileys, which I think are all static, I screen-snag the image that it generates and save it as a png. Then edit it down to the right pixel count to make it uniformly-sized to the others, which takes trial and error. There may be a better way, although I've not found it yet. At first blush this seems like an opportunity to have a poll. But polls on this forum aren't very flexible as you have put it in the first post of a thread and you cannot change it after pulling the trigger. So we could have multiple polls to figure out what we want? Thoughts? Suggestions?
  16. We used to take GM starter solenoids, and that’s the right term, apart and flip the contact washers and rotate the contact posts. That gave us completely new contact patches. I remember doing that on the lake on a 350 Chevy. Can that be done on a Ford relay by drilling the rivets?
  17. Welcome! Glad you joined! Beautiful truck. 👍 But there is a way to put the pics in your post instead of giving us a link. I’ve tried to explain how to do that in Bullnose Forum/FAQ’s, but I’m sure it could be better, so ask if it doesn’t work for you. Also, we have a member’s map (Bullnose Forum/Member’s Map in the menu) and I’d be happy to add you if I had a city.
  18. Jonathan - That is a huge bummer! So sorry. 😩 I have an ‘81 radiator support. Was 351M, but should work fine. Ford said to stuff tire tread in to reduce the size for a smaller radiator. I’ll trade it to you for the later one you brought me. 😉
  19. I like it! Good job, Ray. Nice truck and nice video. 👍 And good job embedding it, Cory. 👌
  20. OK, I lied...I forgot that I could do the windshield wiper blades. From my experience it always rains in Arkansas, so that was a must-do before September. Speaking of windshield wipers...how much play is normal in the wiper arms? When they're in the 'off' position I can wiggle them 3"-4", which seems like a lot and probably contributes to the clunking noise when they reach the end of their sweep and reverse direction. Is it time to get new ones? Congrats! 🎊 As for Arkansas, my experience is that it rains insects. So you will need both good wiper blades and lots of windshield washer fluid.
  21. Yes, same resistance range for fuel, water temp, and oil pressure.
  22. Wow! I'm signed up. I want to go along for this journey! Beautiful truck. It really looks great. Hope it is everything you think it is supposed to be an much more.
