Dave - That would be great! All - We now have a page: Documentation/Interior/Behind The Seat Storage. Please let me know what you think as I'd love to improve it since this was just a quick hit. -
WHYDTYTT: What Have You Done To Your Truck Today?
Gary Lewis replied to Gary Lewis's topic in Bullnose Enthusiasts Forum
Dave - I don't think I need a weight distributing hitch. The truck doesn't drop a lot, but I am considering the light duty air bags for it so I can level it out. One of the reasons I'm not that interested in a weight distributing hitch is because I tow several different trailers - the car hauler, the boat trailer, and probably a camping trailer in the not too distant future. And my limited understanding of the weight distributing hitches is that they aren't easily transferred from trailer to trailer. Right? So the air bags would allow me to trim things out regardless of which trailer and what the load is. -
Yes, Bill, I forgot about the air injected into the ports. And that varied by the engine type, which is one of the reasons I didn't want to go into the details w/o knowing what he has. 351M's & 400's had air injected into the intake manifold, of all places. Windsors had the manifold between the backs of the heads, and they frequently corroded off. Then there was the 460:

Shaun - U-Haul sure has some good deals. Glad you found the shift lever. As for what I did to my truck today, I got it ready for a 200 mile round trip tomorrow to go get a '65 Malibu. Hooked up the trailer, checked tire pressures, and loaded the back seat area to the gills with "tools". (I wanted the considerable extra weight to be between the axles and as far forward as possible since the soft suspension on the truck is already down some just due to the trailer's weight.) Here's a shot showing all that stuff, which includes lots of chain & boomers, ratchet straps, hand tools, battery-powered impact, 4-way, air tank, floor jack, and jumper cables. I think I have everything, but if you have suggestions please let me know. And I mounted the battery box and battery, which took more time than I expected. They sent stainless sheet metal screws that weren't up to biting into the tread plate, so I wound up taping the holes 8-32 and using stainless machine screws. I sure hope they are in the right place - the Loctite I used came out of a blue bottle but was red. And then, having everything else done, I decided that the draw bar's 6" drop was too much as it put the trailer's jack only 4" off the ground in the fully-up position. So it was back to Tractor Supply for a 2" drop draw bar rated at 16K #'s and a new 25K # capable ball. (A 14K rated ball was only $5 less.) That let me raise the coupler on the trailer and, therefore, get 8" of clearance for the jack. So, we are ready for tomorrow! -
I don't think there is one post about removing the thermactor pump. There are probably many posts about that subject. Nor do we have a page on that in the documentation. But we do have a page with illustrations and part #'s here: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/thermactor-systems.html. I'm not exactly sure why, but it isn't all that difficult to do. But, before doing that you need to think about why the pump is there - to put air/oxygen into the catalytic converter. So without the pump the converter(s) won't work properly and may clog. Also, the thermactor system doesn't use enough power to make much difference, so there's not much benefit in removing it. Anyway, you don't have a signature and didn't say what your engine is, so I'm not sure what more to say.

Ford used both aluminum and cast iron intakes, and I haven't been able to figure out why. So it may well be original. On the heads, I don't think there's much way to tell on small-block heads w/o pulling them. D8OE's were fairly common then.

You are aware that Google Maps shows 5 Williamsports? PA, IN, MD, TN, OH. In 24 hours if we don't get any clarity on this I'll remove the post. -
No idea where the valve covers came from. But this is supposed to ID Ford's 3-speed autos, but I can't see enough of that one to tell which it is. But from what I read the C4's dip stick went into the body and the C5's into the pan.

I should have added that there's no problem if this is your only post. But most people come to stay and introduce themselves in the New Members section. Hope you will, but introduce yourself as well as stay. -

Looks like you may be a one-and-gone guy. But it would sure help the potential sale if we at least had a link the Craigslist post. And pictures and info would be even better. -
Happy Birthday, Grandmother!!!!

Yup, when driving and I meet one I give them the same. But if I find one parked I slip one of my "business cards" under the wiper.

Kind of pricey, but those things aren't all that plentiful. So, if you need one.... And fyi folks, a manual transmission bracket will work for both a manual and an auto, but an auto bracket won't work for a manual. One difference is that the manual bracket has a place for the assist spring to fit and the auto bracket doesn't. Also, I think the 1984 manual bracket has holes for the clutch switch while the auto doesn't, but I'm not sure on that.

Bill - A tablet, or maybe I should say "this" tablet, worked well with the package I bought from Core Tuning. And this is a Win 10 Microsoft Surface Pro. -
You are now on the map!
