  1. Hi gentlemen, Reading at Rene’s recent thread, I realize it’s been a while that I wanted your opinion. I just forget about it during warm seasons, and now the problem is coming back with the next winter approaching. The ignition key gets harder to turn as the weather gets cold. I suspect I should lubricate “something” (the key lock? the switch?), but not sure what to use. Any advice?
  2. My wife isn’t happy that I crank the volume, she says that while aging I tend to crank it more and more. I don’t understand what she’s talking about, I don’t hear it louder. Is it your case too, Gary?
  3. Gary, when I replaced Big Bro's lower shaft, the NOS part came in its original box. On the picts: • The original joints zoomed • The original and replacement shafts • The Ford box with the part number of the NOS:
  4. Gary, while working on Big Brother, I replaced the steering column. Big Bro was equipped with #2 (no tilt steering), every parts so loose that I looked like rolling pizza dough while driving. I was lucky and found #3 NOS on eBay, really not expansive (paid under 100$). Bran new, still in its original Ford box. Reading at this post, do I understand that I installed a Bricknose lower column?
  5. Result is very nice! I am wondering if your goal is to look exactly as a NOS diesel not faded tach would. If so, seems that there was just one grade of red after the white zone… But I largely prefer your proposal!
  6. Nice truck! It’s surprising to see that the interior general design isn’t so different than our trucks. A little detail here and there, less metal and more plastic for Bullnoses, but the general “feeling” is still very similar.
  7. For my part, women in my life don’t even know what a Ford Bronco is. Maybe I just don’t live in the right country… I love the article conclusion!
  8. 15$ 1980 = 56$ 2023. So NOS at a sale price of 50$ was a good deal, 12% rebate.
  9. Hi! Did you post from your phone or computer? Pictures took with phone keep somewhere in their metadata the orientation they were took. The easy way: 1-Modify your pict by rotating it (any orientation, doesn’t matter), and save it. 2- Then open it again and rotate it the right way, and save it. Now it should appear correctly in the forum (if already posted they won’t change automatically, you’ll have to post the “modified” picture again). This operation “forces” a metadata that the forum can read correctly.
  10. Very nice and really clean! Congratulations for your new purchase! I agree with Gary, and the steering wood finish appears to remain intact, where usually worn and washed out by the driver’s fingers “playing” around the control buttons.
  11. Good news! So, here is an example of your recipe, Gary. Is it ok?
  12. Not sure if this is relevant for this thread… Big Brother’s parking brake is fully functional, but the truck is also equipped with a pressure parking brake (was legal at that time). When I use this latter, the brake warning light stays “on” after I release it, until I “reset” the proportioning valve. I reset it by pushing on the brake pedal very firmly, then I feel a “click” on the pedal and the warning light goes off. 2-3 years ago, the light didn’t want to go off, and after some trials and tests I decided to replace the proportioning valve, everything went back ok.
  13. Good idea! Long ago, I was carrying horses and while I stopped at a farm to let one horse get down there, the upper hose cracked. Just couple of miles from home, I was able to get back home with a LOT of electrical tape around the defective hose. Since then, I renew Big Brother’s coolant hoses every 7-8 years. Not so expansive and much more safe…
  14. This is how YouTube looks on my browser. I don't use the "copy" button: 1- Share button 2- Embed button. There I can copy the iFrame code.
  15. On my side, I can hide the top menu if I swap the whole screen to the top. Works in Portrait and landscape modes. I noticed that the full screen "square button" is not available in portrait mode. But once the full screen mode is enable, it stays on if I flip the phone from landscape to portrait mode.
  16. Hurray! Works on iPhone 13 Mini too! You’re the king Gary!
  17. This size is ok for horizontal, but still cropped in vertical phone orientation: I found this guide. The guy concludes this way: «Making a video follow its aspect ratio at all screen sizes is confusing, but luckily the code to do so is short and easy to extend.» Hopefully, Gary, you’ll see the easy side of this "Wrapping the iFrame in a container" demonstration better than me… This guy too discuss about resizing an iFrame. The final html code should look like this example:
  18. OK, so these are the mysterious "p" "p" codes, it's for the carriage return. Thanks for the tip! And thanks so much for this user guide! (It makes me realize that younger people will probably be questioning about what is a «carriage» and why we should «return» it). «My-First-Posted-Video»: Oh yeah!!! So NIIIIIICE! Gary, about the mobile issue: I have to say that I prefer the smallest as possible device is my pocket (presently iPhone 13 Mini). I suppose that the problem isn't the same on a larger phone... Even with the smaller movie, it is still cropped on my mini phone (vertical and horizontal, although less in horizontal position): Too bad for the small phones! It is still possible to see the original movie directly on YouTube.
  19. Wow Gary, I have to apologize. You're right, nobody said that we cannot do it, I simply supposed it since I didn't find any way to do so.:nabble_smiley_blush:But nobody said that it can be done neither.:nabble_smiley_evil:You'll have to explain me how to link a YouTube movie... I search and don't find any way. What are these strange codes "p" "p" and "i/frame"? Have to enter them manually?:nabble_anim_confused:Be aware that the result may be impressive on a computer, it is terrible on a phone (vertical or horizontal), good on an horizontal pad but so-so on a vertical pad.And I have the bad idea to enter the Forum mainly by the phone door...Phone result (completely cropped):
  20. Hi Gentlemen! Just for fun... Since we cannot post movies to the Forum, I was wondering what size of GIF is possible. The allowed file limit is 1 Mb. This is the Shafer Pass (from Big Brother's Big Tour). Top and Bottom. 5 seconds, 256 colours, 10fps, 240x135. Just under 1 Mb each. This test gives an idea about the GIF limits. Cranking any of these settings exceeds the 1 Mb maximum. And no possible sound. Linking a is more convenient!
  21. Gary, remember this suggestion? Was a GREAT idea! Hope you had a nice trip with Janey! Sorry about my silence, I am very busy at office this fall... Soon I'll find some time to complete Big Brother's Big Tour post with pictures of our road to home, from Skiatook. Everything went well, absolutely no issue, was a fabulous trip. USA is a so nice country, nice people, nice landscapes, our heads full of wonderful memories!
  22. 14+15 septembre Days 16 & 17, En Route to Skiatook 1013km / 630 miles (Green & Orange). Leaving Cañon City, long ride to Skiatook, mix sun & rain. We stopped camping at Boiling Spring Campground State Park, between Woodward and Mooreland (very nice, clean and quiet, altough we heard train horn every 10 minutes ). Arrived at Skiatook around 3PM, shower for us and car wash for Big Brother. Nice group, we had a good time and good lunch!
