  1. Every now and then somebody pops up looking for one of these PS pulleys, and I don't believe anybody is making them in the aftermarket. That leaves the junkyard and scrap vehicles. I guess the good news is that they were used on lots of other vehicles besides the pickups, so they should be somewhat available, assuming you can find a junkyard with old vehicles (in other words, a southern junkyard). Some on Ebay, not sure if they are the same... This one is an E2... https://www.ebay.com/itm/115103282516?epid=8009723736&hash=item1accb0b554:g:QL4AAOSwIKJhmGxz https://www.ebay.com/itm/224677268428?hash=item344fcf0bcc:g:oLwAAOSw0JJhhTJV https://www.ebay.com/itm/115103282516?epid=8009723736&hash=item1accb0b554:g:QL4AAOSwIKJhmGxz
  2. I don't see any under hood pics, but it appears to have dealer AC installed.
  3. Figured this was worth sharing since the XLS trucks don't show up very often in decent condition. This one is a unique color and while the truck isn't perfect, it has a lovely interior which is half the battle sometimes. Driver's side seems to be full of dents, but it looks OK otherwise. https://www.ebay.com/itm/284639702021?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&siteid=0&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&toolid=20008&campid=5336658105&customid=
  4. I just posted in the other thread about Ospho. I quite like the product myself, but it won't remove the rust, it just converts it and seals it like POR-15 does. http://www.ospho.com/
  5. I'm quite fond of the Ospho product. It's a rust treatment only (without the paint like POR-15). I ordered a gallon of it years ago and still have a half or 3rd of a jug left. I found a distributor in Canada and had it shipped to me. I forget what it cost, but it wasn't terribly expensive. Maybe $40 bucks or something like that, for a gallon. I've done two full size F150 frames and various other items with it, and I still have lots left. http://www.ospho.com/
  6. Welcome aboard FrozenNorth! Where abouts in Southern AB? I spent a couple years in Calgary and Banff back in the mid 90's before moving back east. Nice old trucks!
  7. Welcome aboard Tyler! You get an internet high five for the title of this thread lol. It was an eye catcher. I've been to Florida a bunch of times for business and pleasure, but I don't know if I've ever been to Gainesville. On one of my work trips, I had to drive north up to Atlanta and with a little time to spare I drove up through the middle of the state and did some rural roads. I remember seeing farms, and stopping at these little roadside fruit stands...picked up some fresh honey too. I remember it being really nice through there. As a tourist, you kinda always think of Orlando and Tampa, etc...and forget that there are some really nice areas off the beaten path. Nice Bullnose, and welcome aboard!
  8. Yeah this week at work I only found a few on Spotify, and I listened to a couple. First was Wrench Nation which I turned off after 15 minutes. The host was basically a radio shock jock. The second was The Guild of Automotive Restorers Podcast. While really insightful about classic Ferraris, Bugattis, Porsches, etc etc etc, it was more for the people who send their car to a shop for professional restoration. It reminded me of when I used to go to Monterey Car Week and get some oldster to monologue about the dozens of priceless cars he's owned. Cool stuff if you're interested in unobtanium-mobiles. Have you listened to Bronco Talk? Here's a link to one I posted with Chris Lott. You can follow him on IG under Lotts of Vintage. He has some cool trucks and Broncos. https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Chris-Lott-on-Bronco-Talk-Podcast-tp77585.html
  9. There's also this series...fairly new Bullnose build. https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/1985-Bullnose-build-series-on-Youtube-tp110789.html
  10. I'm a big Podcast guy, in fact it's about all I have listened to for the last 5-6 years. I very rarely listen to the radio anymore. Anyway, the bad news is that I haven't found much in the way of car/truck stuff to listen to. Steve Mags Muscle Car Show is good to have on in the background, if you enjoy his stuff (ever watch Junkyard Gold?). he's a facts and numbers guy, so it can be pretty interesting. Sound was not great earlier on, but he was doing them at home with basic stuff I think. https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-steve-mags-muscle-car-show/id1534908488 I listen to Binder Boneyard once in a while too. It's all about old International pickups, Scouts, Travelalls, etc. However, he does general tech stuff too. Not bad sometimes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-binder-boneyard-podcast/id1428273163 There are others, but I haven't really found many that I could stick with. I listen to a lot of regular podcasts, but not much automotive stuff. I don't follow very many Youtube channels, but I'm kinda fond of the Budget Buildz guy in SC (I think that's where he is). Couple of my faves here. I can watch these over anytime. https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Budget-Buildz-Starting-a-Bullnose-that-has-been-parked-for-29-years-tp86288.html

  12. Gentlemen, I know lots of you guys know way more than just Ford stuff, so I figured I'd throw this oddball at ya. My friend's young fella has a 1987 GMC 4x4 half ton with throttle body EFI 305, and it all appeared to be factory. This truck is not a beater...it's quite nice, and had been garage kept for the last 20 years or so. Anyway, it wasn't working quite right for the longest time, and suddenly one day while his wife was driving it, the engine started making a racket and quit. He found two of the spark plugs smashed to bits, at almost opposite sides of the engine. Anyhow, he finally took it apart yesterday and pulled the heads, and found these little stainless pieces between the intake ports in the heads. I guess one of them or a couple of them got loose and fell down into the cylinders. What's odd to me is that the "wall" between the intake ports is not flush with the surface of the heads. He said the gaskets were wide open between the ports. You guys ever see anything like this before? Wouldn't you want the ports well sealed from each other? This is so strange to me.
  13. That's kinda neat. Even though they are for the medium duty trucks, that part would work in a Bullnose pickup just fine if you wanted to delete the factory kick-panel vents in a truck without AC. It would fit right in place. https://www.garysgaragemahal.com/kick-panels.html I was going to assume it had something to do with adding dealer AC in a non AC truck until Gary posted the heavy truck part number reference.
  14. The reason they say they only fit the later model trucks isn't because of the O2 sensor, it's because they're made to fit the factory Y-pipes, and they won't fit the Bullnose years Y-pipes. The carbed 302 had the flapper valve in the exhaust on the driver's side (to close the left side exhaust off and force it through the crossover in the intake). The BBK and JBA truck shorty headers are listed to fit the same year 302/5.0's ('86-up) but neither of them have O2 sensor bungs. You sure about that? My '82 doesnt have the heat riser in the exhaust on neither side and its the OE manifolds and OE Y pipe. What I meant was that the reason they say they only fit 1986 or 1987-up is that they don't fit the earlier Y-pipes. It doesn't have anything to do with the O2 sensor bung, because some of them don't have them at all, like the BBK and JBA shorty truck headers. The selling feature of shorty headers is that they're supposed to fit factory Y-Pipes, and they don't fit the pre-EFI Y-pipes.
  15. Jonathan and I each bought different cheap 1bbl carbs. Here's a link to mine that shows the Amazon link...looks like it's unavailable now though: https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/New-Repro-YF-carburetor-for-the-300-six-tp70663p85580.html That carb worked really well, but I did end up having to swap the metal float from the old carb, which was an Autoline reman of an original YF. I have never used them myself, but I know that Mike's Carburetors gets universal good reviews, and they should have good quality carbs. https://www.carburetor-parts.com/
  16. Gary, They actually drill and tap the steering box casing and add two additional ports if you have or plan to run ram assist steering. Here's some info on it here: https://www.fullsizebronco.com/threads/power-steering-gear-box-tap-pics.254874/ Nothing you need on a regular pickup in my opinion.
  17. Welcome aboard! I'm a big fan of the 5spd swap in a Bullnose truck. It's almost all plug N play, and it's a welcome addition. I've spent a lot of time in NH. We used to hit Laconia Bike Week every year, and have been to the top of Mt. Washington a half a dozen times as well.
  18. You don't want that option. That is for adding two more ports in the steering box casing if you were using a secondary steering ram/piston assist. Nothing you need on a truck like yours. RedHead has a description of the option on their webpage.
  19. This showed up in my IG news feed. Thought you guys might enjoy.
  20. I agree. I went through two reman'd boxes in a row before switching over to a RedHead box on my '84. As NumberDummy used to say over on FTE, a remanufactured power steering box is a resealed power steering box. So, if you're buying one to replace a leaky box, then a reman is fine. If you're buying one to fix sloppy steering, then your results may vary. I went with a reman steering box on my 1980, and it seemed to be pretty good. That one didn't bother me at all. One of the older parts counter guys I talked to told me that buying reman steering boxes is hit or miss because you don't really know if that reman box has 50k miles on it, or 350k miles on it. He actually told me, "sometimes you have to go through a couple before you get a good one". A note on both RedHead and BlueTop boxes is that they have sales, I know around Thanksgiving and Christmas for sure, and maybe July 4th...can't really remember. Follow them on FB and IG and they will announce them when they're on. I was going to go with the BlueTop box for no other reason than Geography...they were closer and shipping was slightly cheaper. However, they went through two sales and both times didn't have any stock on Bullnose steering boxes. RedHead being a bigger and older company always seemed to have them ready to go.
  21. Nova Scotia. If you go directly east of Portland, or better yet Bar Harbor, you’ll hit us.
  22. I'm east of Maine, more or less. I'm right on the coast, and while we do most definitely get winter, we also get the Gulf Stream way up here. No snow on the ground right now, and it's currently -6C (22F). I hate the winter personally, but lots of my buddies like it (sled heads). I also don't like the heat all that much either...the humidity here is gross in the summer. I'd be pretty happy if it was 75F all year long lol.
  23. The reason they say they only fit the later model trucks isn't because of the O2 sensor, it's because they're made to fit the factory Y-pipes, and they won't fit the Bullnose years Y-pipes. 24. Always have to weigh the pros and cons, right? Even if it did cook the starter, I'm not even overly concerned about that...UNLESS that is I have to remove the header to replace it LOL. I won't know until the trans is bolted up, but it looks like there will be enough room to remove and install it with the header in place.
  25. Hey John, Not sure if this link will work, but try this one below. Note the title says "SBC" LOL. Shipping was only $20 from the other side of the continent (California) and across the border, so that's very cheap for me. They were only $129 a couple weeks ago when I ordered them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/373435736664?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item56f2812258:g:CC8AAOSwbTRh6LV9&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAC0PYe5NmHp%252B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSafTQYbq3L7RBVAMi0K9cw86PsGb3kpaKDlcxJH2zI2loVrQIu1HycWLQNcsSb3cwzDSXEOge3biWM0KPQgIICcJuqV0TC8Sw7DvWu8kMnq2FRVfrmu327hNz1xzvt9uAjIy%252B57Tn8Dbo%252F6GKSP3bQMSeTVKs0zmKrQzJE3Pz9hO2HTdySqUhju2eBx8GfXkKGqD4%252F4UpHff1AbHU0HnYGo%252Ba0Aw2Lx4fc0K4ocG8BCnuhp4BNhY%252FW9s5S43W6fASUV5lk8pEZAUjCXX%252Behx0NcCul4Ijoq%252BSAgiHrxdSS0MbMdqYTNKnartAGh4oD1QqB%252BESwegFCtyf8wOez2zsroLJDRKiY8Pg0uT4azyfSypkvtjIYoDPIGOyr%252Bxk3%252BakNKepGwNv8M1MSgTOyV84gen4cn29WEaY5Rwg3tUwxeZ9NGN3y6g2WtZC6fRKtrnDmZ6COF%252FE%252BrjOODitRQ5xQI%252F7GwLfjb8eK1fOEoZowJX7gTYMJ85rqc2m9TDpmA4yPUJ1DhExqySqrkn%252B36VJbJ4ESvkpqLCkSsUhR1ujjmnmWk9rPXAYW75orBnCIYvbu7LT2WittkJUJXMxrOZD3mngx9ETQL3tNEPr2zONerme%252F0pLnULTkwAW56eWSrARAIDEbEcLSEb%252FaJFMhpdEZdBCsJvufTkejor0%252FpCG3ZKNMH%252B4clxttOSMv0MNPgh0jYqtzm8dCNt2oBnsUIp6tu%252FRoUIe9JAL8m0Gy6f9qR4AdWueBqepgsMg6d5zXbC4p03CR6qEg50iejyQlHbuAe7d6pJpswBKr93mKoVJviHdKF1C5L%252FREiPnjdu2cL5Yj75EOaYykoYGsXxw%252BI7G0RTjKPbyWPrOX0%252BB88toSM%252FT9SAjc0lMM7yn84oQr80yukO5lEOdvhCuhkJSz6BoGg%253D%253D%7Cclp%3A2334524%7Ctkp%3ABFBMmJWs6c9f
