  1. Cool! I'm in no rush at all David. My truck is still in pieces at the body shop. I am wanting one of these organizers and will have one made. I'm just curious about the width at the top and the bottom, and of course the height. I need something that will make the best use of the space, but still allow the seat to go ALL the way back against the cab.
  2. Gentlemen, I saw this posted on FB a few days ago. Does anybody have one of these installed? I'm looking for the dimensions. I know I can figure it out myself, but if somebody had one they could stick a measuring tape beside it would be awesome;).
  3. You're talking about the Flareside? Same with me. I had to note it (both of them really) for their condition and no-reserve auctions. I could make that Flareside "mine" pretty quick, and that would include removing the roll cage;).
  4. That old trailer cleaned up pretty good Steve. Well done.
  5. Time for a new heater core I'd say, coming from back there.
  6. Oh and a nice little California Flareside 4x4 No Reserve auction already on the way up. Original paint, no rust. This is a nice little truck. I'd have to adjust it slightly for my own tastes, but it sure would be a good starting point. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193095633607 Will it hit 10 Grand?...
  7. Nice lookin' low mile '84 4x4 here. No reserve auction already at $6400. Everything looks to be intact and original inside and under the hood. Interior looks great. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293221394509

Hey Gary, Ever talk to Mar-K in Oklahoma? That's where I bought most of the new steel/hardware for the Flareside bed. I'm sure the Bullnose market is a small one for them, but they do support it;).
  9. That's great Dorsai, thanks! I'm just playing around when I have free time on piecing together the parts needed to install an aftermarket AC system. It may never even happen, but I'll at least have a file on what parts I need to make it work. There are some aftermarket vents available, so I'm just seeing what I can find that will fit reasonably well and if they look close to a dealer system I'm OK with that.
  10. Hey Jon, I was curious about the stripe differences. The 1981 brochure says that the Freewheelin' stripes were either the outlined pin stripes, or the full side decals that were either Tri-Colored or Chromatic. Were the tri-color and chromatic actually one in the same thing?
  11. Can you tell me the outside dimensions of the passenger side vents?
  12. Gentlemen, I just happen to be going through my Ebay and noticed that these NOS OEM Flareside bed panels are down to only one left for each side. These things are a good deal for what they are, and when these last two are gone, they'll be gone forever. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-1987-OEM-RH-UNFINISHED-STEPSIDE-BEDSIDE-PANEL-F100-250-E0TZ-8327840-B/123792219324?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-1987-OEM-LH-UNFINISHED-STEPSIDE-BEDSIDE-PANEL-F100-250-E0TZ-8327841-B/123792220256?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Just an FYI.
  13. Question about you guys with dealer installed AC systems... Was the passenger side factory NON-AC dash cut to accept the passenger side vents? Is that what they did? Just cut holes in the dash and push the vents in, and connect flexible ducts to them?
  14. I have the Mazda 5-speed in my truck and I'm quite happy with it...BUT, it does get a fair amount of hate from a lot of the truck crowd. I even have a spare 88-91 M5OD spare trans for rebuilding (winter project one day perhaps). I think Ron uses his truck for towing a trailer sometimes, so he probably wants the heavier trans...just guessing.

I love this truck! As much as I like the Lariats and XLT's, etc, I like the plain trucks even better! I don't know if it is nostalgia since a lot of the trucks around here were like that when I was growing up, or if its just that I like the simplicity of them. Nice work.
  16. David, MPG aside, let me know what you think of the mirrors for actually seeing behind you! PS: For "Man Cave" discussions, you can note that New Brunswick is where the Bricklin SV-1 was built during it's short lifespan in the mid 1970's. They were powered by a Ford 351w for at least part of the production run. Not sure how often you guys see them down south these days, but I see one every now and then in the summer months. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bricklin_SV-1 They still show up for sale as well. This one below is listed for sale in New Brunswick but is actually in Maine. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/fredericton/1975-bricklin-sv-1/1454189923?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

I had that one set of complete wheels saved already, but the last comment in his description is "Local Buyers Only". I don't even know if I want them yet or not, so I haven't asked the seller any questions...and with the price of the refurb wheels...well, they do make more sense.
  18. Ya, so far I have only installed the vent window seals, and the wiper/seal that is attached to the top of the plastic door panel. The only thing with the vent window seals is that you may have to cut and trim a couple little spots here and there. They look like they're shipped right out of the mold, so some minor trimming may be required. It's nothing really. I thought they fit pretty well once installed.
  19. Understood, and thanks for the heads up. I know the center caps are available aftermarket, but what about the trim rings? Are they hard to find?
  20. Something to do with it being the last year old the 351M / 400 and the old style grill perhaps? Specific one-year only color options?
  21. Hey Jon, I came across this '81 Bronco for sale in western Canada while surfing the net for other junk. It's a rust bucket, but the stripe package caught my eye as a Freewheelin' style package. I looked at the '81 Bronco brochure, and it said the Freewheelin stripe package was available in Tri-Color or Chromatic? Would this be the Chromatic version? You can tell I know nothing about these things...lol. Too bad the thing is in such poor condition. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1459043826&siteLocale=en_CA&requestSource=b I see it had some kind of a padded steering wheel at some point and time...
  22. Did the driveshaft cause any damage flailing around under there?
