  1. I've already disassembled the window. The aluminum channels are a bit corroded and the seals and guides are all dirty and gunked up. Just going to clean and paint everything individually, and reassemble it.
  2. 215/75/15 as per the Certification Labels above.
  3. Couple comments... I just ordered a new Motorcraft DY-893 Ignition Module from Amazon as many others have, and while I haven't received it yet, there are a lot of comments stating that the module itself has no Ford Motorcraft markings on it of any kind. It's not that it's necessarily a different brand...but it's not marked in any way. It does come in a Motorcraft bag, or in some cases a box apparently, but the modules themselves are blank as it were. I did see where one guy said that he contacted Ford and they did confirm that they are actual Motorfcraft parts and no they are not marked. Take that with a grain of salt. Anyway...the other thing is,... I've seen several Ebay auctions where they have part X sitting next to an original Ford box. Many times you will see in the auction comments that the box is not included in the sale. There are a couple reasons for this, but one of them is that they are selling new aftermarket parts listed as NOS Ford parts. One of them I have seen with some regularity is Flareside tail lights.
  4. I had to make good use of the nice weather today so I ventured out for a junkyard crawl, and ended up grabbing a sliding rear window out of a 1996 F150 4x4. It's about the best one I've found so far, and it's the OEM Ford window as well, so that's a bonus (It fits well). With a little cleaning up it should look and work OK for what I'm doing (and for the $35 bucks it cost me). From the little bit I've read, the 1995-1996 sliding rear window had a much better latch than the previous versions? This one is still intact after 23 years, so I guess that says something. Anyway, I have all winter to get it cleaned up.
  5. Isn't that funny! I thought the truck looked kind of familiar, but wasn't sure. I likely did see it on Ebay but didn't pay a lot of attention to it. If I've posted it before, I forgot about it.
  6. According to a quick Google search the dual in/single out system was stock on the 1985-1986 460.
  7. And it's odd that the truck did not have AC considering it was fairly well optioned otherwise. Maybe it is not an original southern truck, although it would be a bit backwards to be selling a northern truck in the south. Is that dual exhaust factory for the 460? I see there's only a single tail pipe, so it must have a dual in/single outlet Muffler?

  9. Is this the same seller that had the Bullnose Bronco a while back? I remember somebody saying that they drive by this place every day, Shaun I assume?
  10. Thank Bruno! I think guys have had pretty good success with the PEX replacements, and that was with cutting them to fit. The way Bruno has them installed, they'll last a long long time.
  11. Yeah, I believe you can buy replacement strikers in this style...with the removable bolt, and you can also buy the bushings...I believe from Dorman? They are hard hard plastic, like PVC. It might be this kit below, I'm not sure... https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-15607-38424.aspx?origin=keyword
  12. Nice lookin' old 86 F250 4x4 here. It's worth noting if the 29k is the original mileage. The truck appears to be in pretty nice condition. Price is high of course. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254422705580 Note the custom AC installation. I have a file folder created where I've been saving pictures of Bullnoses with custom AC installs. They went a little different route with this one and did the under dash vents, but if it keeps you from melting, whatever works! I'm planning on doing a similar installation myself, but want to use factory dash vents. I'd love to know what AC unit they went with. A couple of the companies are making "Micro" units not for Hotrods (and whatever) and they must be small enough to fit neatly in behind the glovebox on a Bullnose because this is the 3rd I've found online.
  13. Gary, yes, the later strikers with the guards do come apart like the ones Bruno has pictured above. I'm not sure exactly when the change took place, but I'm guessing it was 1992. I have a few of them I grabbed at the Junkyard from some later (1992-1996) F trucks. They look exactly the same as the earlier ones, but they have a plastic washer on them, and the bolt can be threaded out with your fingers. I checked a couple Bricknose trucks at the junkyard (both 1987's) and they had the stikers with the steel guards, but the bolts could not be removed, same as the ones from the Bullnoses without the guards. I don't know when they changed, but I'd say 1992, although it might have been earlier.
  14. Not sure how they did it at the factory but the bolt is not removable on the Bullnoses...not without destroying the threads at least.
  15. Well done! Those doors can rattle like a bugger. I grabbed a couple pairs of the newer strikers at the junkyard a while back so I could do this when the time comes. I think with the Bullnose strikers the only way to install the tubing would be to cut it.
  16. Gary, Yessir, the 347 is one of the common 302 stroker kits, as is the 331 (I think), and I believe one other size. Somebody commented on one of the other forums one time that Ford made a factory stroker kit for the 302, it's called the 351 Windsor...lol. I guess it depends on the situation, and availability of a good 351 block/rotating assembly. I think a a 302 stroker kit is a couple grand isn't it? If you do that, then nothing else has to change. If you swap in a 351w, you'll need a new intake manifold for sure, and headers...or exhaust modifications to make the 302 headers work. Different flywheel or ring gear, as well as some accessory brackets, etc. Being a guy that spent a bunch of money on a 302 (and wishes he had a 351), I know this situation all too well. However, hindsight is 20/20 isn't it? We'll see how I feel after I get mine working better (like the way it should have been). If I could do it all again (and I might someday) I think one of the very late (1994/1996?) 351 Windsor roller block engines would make a lovely SBF for a light little Bullnose. They're a bit scarce though...kinda like finding a ZF5 trans with the small block bolt pattern.
  17. Didn't the 302 go to EFI mid-way through the 1985 model year, and then were all EFI in 1986? The feedback carbs add a little more confusion. Did all carbed models come with feedback carbs after a certain date, like sometime in 1983?...or did that vary by state and/or region?
  18. Alright. I'm all buttoned back up now. Just have to fill the coolant, and wait for my distributor to get back...which will be a little while since it hasn't even arrived there yet. I picked up some Ford dark blue engine paint and touched up my bad spots...and ended up painting the whole front of the cylinder head...lol. The color doesn't match, so I'm thinking the engine shop painted this thing GM blue?...lol. I dunno. It's lighter than the dark blue, and darker than the light blue. Was there a 3rd Ford blue color? (And yes, I know the engines were grey by this time, but I wanted it to be blue.)
  19. Ok, fair enough. Thanks for all the responses. The reason I was asking was, ever since I installed the Mustang 5.0 dual snorkel intake, the truck stinks bad when I bring it home and pull into the garage. Like gas/fumes smell. I've pulled the air cleaner cover off, and it is the air filter that smells...or it is the air filter that is holding the smell. Any idea what would cause this? It was never an issue with the open element air cleaner, for 2 seasons. Maybe it has something to do with the other issues I'm currently working on, like replacing my leaky intake gasket, and getting the carb set-up properly, but I wanted to look into it while I'm in the process of getting this thing all dialed back in properly.
  20. That's a nice straight looking truck! Love the color too.
  21. No AC in SC can be a kiss of death. The mismatched bed will put some people off as well although it's not as noticeable on this truck as it is on some. Still, the truck sits nice, has a good lookin' paint job, and it's priced OK.
  22. Steve also had his own beliefs as to where NOS Ford parts came from, and argued vehemently against any other notions.
  23. PS: I picked up four 5" long bolts today for installation guides and they worked perfectly. Thank you for the tips.
