  1. Just happened to notice this one posted on FB. Built in the Norfolk plant in 09/86. September is the latest one I've seen yet. I would imagine they were getting close to running out of Bullnose parts by then. Surely they switched over production to the 1987 MY trucks soon after. However...I guess they could build them as late as they wanted to or needed to. I know back in the 2000's when the emissions rules changed, Volkswagen could not sell diesel engine cars in North America in 2007. One thing they did to try and cover the sales gap was that they bumped up production of the 2006 model diesel Jettas, and they ran the production line right up until the last calendar day of 2006. So in the plant in Mexico, they were building 2006 diesel models right along with the 2007 gas models in the end of 2006. Back when Ford was building Bullnoses in what, five plants? They likely staggered the production change over various plants? Just theorizing. Maybe they were building 1987 Bricknoses in August in one plant, and then 1986 Bulls in September in another? Well, there's one way to get heat and AC in a classic truck... I came across it on FB Marketplace in case you'd like to see more...lol: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2293579817626912/?surface=product_details That is a household wall mount heat/AC pump, and he has the outdoor unit mounted in the bed. Looks like there's an engine back there as well...maybe an old generator for the 120v needed to run the heat/AC unit.

  3. I wonder did they sell the last one they had?... http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/1986-Bronco-XLT-on-Ebay-in-Florida-Restored-38-900-td39149.html#a39159 I guess if they got anywhere close to the asking price on that one they bumped up the price on this one.
  4. Boy they are asking some big bucks for this one! $45,900. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254451516274 Sure is pretty though, and the interior is very nice. Have you seen it on the lot Shaun?
  5. I thought it was kind of funny. Posting for sale ads can be asking for trouble sometimes. Unfortunately, running or not the truck really isn't worth much. Body is shot, and the frame likely isn't much better. That leaves a 302, transmission, and rear end...none of which fetch any decent money on the used market.
  6. And a big nation too, although sparsely populated when compared to the US. Over on the east coast though...the weather has been trash for the past couple weeks! Wet, slop, sleet, snow, then warm and rain, snow, rain...ugh. I like it when it's cold and crisp, but DRY...lol.
  7. I'm only posting this for the wording of the for sale ad! Anybody who has sold something online knows all too well the pain of the 500 questions that start pouring in, no matter how clear you have been in your ad! This poor guy is just trying to sell a rusty old truck...lol. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/winnipeg/ford-1986-f-150-lariat-for-parts-or-farm-not-safety-able/1457978157?undefined Description NOT SAFETIABLE - NOT ABLE TO BE SAFETIED - PLEASE DON'T ASK IF THIS TRUCK CAN BE SAFETIED!!! Okay lets try this again. After over 70 emails I still have this truck. It is good for parts only. It runs and drives just fine, but the holes in the body and lack of seat belts means YOU CANNOT SAFETY THIS TRUCK. Sure if you want to spend $5000 on it, I'm sure you could. But then just go buy another truck and not this old rust bucket. In other words, this is a PARTS TRUCK ONLY. This has been good reliable back up transportation for a good number of years now. Mostly it sits there until I need to move a load of dirt or gravel, or some friend needs to borrow a truck to move furniture, or whatever. It's not pretty, but it starts reliably in the cold when covered in 2 feet of snow, and it chugs along just fine. The body is crappy and full of holes. One of the seat belts doesn't work, the ceiling fabric sags down, and if you like rust this truck has it a plenty! It is not safetied, CANNOT BE SAFETIED without way too much work, but it runs just fine. It would make a good farm truck for someone who just needs to move manure from one side of the farm to the other. The tires are newish and in good shape, and there is a half decent Canadian Tire stereo and speakers there as well. If you want it for parts the motor (8 cylinder 302) and drivetrain are reliable and could give more life to some other vehicle. So, this truck is for parts only, or farm use. I hope I've been clear, you cannot buy this truck with a safety. I am not going to get a safety done, it is a piece of junk with a few good parts. If you really really really want to get this P.O.S. safetied, do it after you pay me the money and it is yours. I am not going to do it.
  8. Oh I know, I was just joking. Most of the time I drive my truck, the only thing the 40amp alternator is feeding is the Duraspark system, and on occasion the headlights;). Completely understood on the heat trace and power requirements. I get it.
  9. Hey ETM, no snow in Ontario now? It's been up and down in the Maritimes. Warm and rain...then cold and snow, then warm and rain, repeat! 5spd swap eh? You have a 3 on the tree if I am remembering correctly? I did the 5spd swap from a 3 on the tree and I love it. My truck was already a hydraulic clutch though, so that made it even easier.
  10. Hey, ease up on us 40amp alternator guys...lol.
  11. I like the steering wheel! Something to check into is the firewall where the clutch master cylinder mounts (Next to the brake booster). There was a problem with these trucks where the firewall would crack around the seam next to the clutch master cylinder. If the clutch is difficult to push, or if you have any problems shifting gears, make sure this area is OK. https://broncograveyard.com/n-12822-new-product-spotlight-1983-1991-ford-bronco-f-series-truck-firewall-clutch-repair-bracket.html https://shop.broncograveyard.com/83-91-Ford-Bronco-Ford-Truck-Firewall-Clutch-Repair-Bracket/productinfo/34010/
  12. No, don't think so. The 15 is the gear ratio, and the B&H are the spring codes. In order to do that calculation, you'd need to know the weight of the truck minus the un-sprung weight. The numbers are in pounds anyway, so the total is obviously 53X lbs, and the front looks like it's only 2 digit, so less than 100 lbs...ish.
  13. Paint code 5819 http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/exterior-paint-codes.html Does that work? That 4 digit code is what I've been using for my truck (different code of course).
  14. Not much help since they're not readable, but they are front axle accessory reserve capacity, and total axle accessory reserve capacity. I guess that matters if you are adding accessories to the truck, like heavier bumpers and winches, or other permanent accessories like roll-bars, and larger rear bumpers?
  15. On my 1984, everything is in the engine bay, but it is a non-AC truck. When my heater core leaked, it too dripped down on the plastic fender liner. The AC equipped trucks are quite a bit different though, and the heater core much easier to change....from what I've read at least.
  16. Here's one below, for example...shouldn't be too much of an issue, unless you're in search of a factory wheel maybe... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/crr-3978855/
  17. Scott I sent you an email FYI In case it went into your junk folder.
  18. As far as I know, the answer is yes, but somebody else will have to confirm. I think the only issue is that you'd have to drill all of the screw holes. I believe the screws used on the plastic trim pieces are all self-tappers, so if there's no trim, there are also no holes. Not a big deal. I looked at doing this also, but didn't look very far into it. There was a blue Bullnose that showed up at the junkyard with the headliner trim cab. Problem was, the roof was partially crushed...so not only were some of the parts damaged, they were also difficult to access. I scrapped the idea very quickly...lol. My cab is bare bones, like a tin can inside. We'll have to wait for one of the experts to chime in on the topic.
  19. Marti makes them. I have to order one for mine since it was removed when the truck was painted (It was kinda ratty anyway).
  20. That's quite a nice spare tire carrier, isn't it? Obviously it opens just far enough to let the gate down. It would probably squat the back of my light little Bull...lol, but you guys with the 8-lug trucks, no problemo! Did Gary ever build a bumper like this?
  21. I happened to come across this certification label while looking at an Ebay truck this morning, and the only reason it is even noteworthy is the build date. I know we were discussing the other day when the model year changeover was, and I knew it was in or near the summer, etc. As Bullnoses go, this would be a very late build...
  22. Gary, I didn't follow this thread originally, but I knew you were discussing it. Came across this truck on CL this morning and it reminded me of you;). https://prescott.craigslist.org/cto/d/humboldt-86-ford-f250/7028125120.html Also note the lights IN the front bumper. Not sure how functional they are, but that's a clean installation that looks decent imho.
