  1. That’s the one I have and I’ve been happy with it. I agree, could be a grounding issue, the EEC or the reader. This is aggravating. I don’t remember, have you checked the wiring from the reader hook up to the EEC? Does anyone you know have the same era Ford that you could check the reader on? I use the reader on my Bronco and the 94 F250 I used to own.
  2. I’ve never tried it on an automotive tire, but I’ve broken beads on aircraft tires with a vacuum pump.
  3. The pin for the gear shift kept coming out on mine, last time I tapped it in place I put safety wire in there to keep it in place.
  4. Nice try! Holy cow! My head hurts! I didn’t remember that until I watched the intro on that video.
  5. If you have electric fuel pumps in the tank, can you hear it running?
  6. I agree, saw that it was 7600 GVWR. I wish people would list info like the engine size and such.
  7. https://redding.craigslist.org/cto/d/redding-1983-ford-250-xl-hd-4x4/7588384429.html Pretty spendy to me.
  8. Check the vacuum hoses at the firewall junction, particularly the one going to your C6. Someone here found theirs swollen from tranny fluid, I noticed my old truck had that problem. Pulled the hose at the tranny and fluid came out. Had to replace the vacuum modulator and hoses.
  9. Deren, a flatbed is useful where your located of course for ranches etc., but being a 2WD, it’ll be a harder sell. If you get it running and driving good, list it for $4500 or $5000 and explain the situation the family is in. This is of course my opinion, then drop accordingly if no interest. I’m selling my son’s 1999 BMW 540i, no interest at all, but bad time of the year to sell it.
  10. Can you see the part number on the race? Could be the wrong one was installed.
  11. Very close, it's a 1955. The '56 F-series was a one year body style and you can spot them quickly as they have vertical A-pillars and a wrap around windshield. 1953-1955 were all the same with only grill changes each year, and the '56 was the oddball with the different glass/a-pillar, etc. While I'm not a big fan of yellow, I do really like this truck. I like the black wheels and stock ride height. I really dislike the current trend of lowering trucks to the ground and installing huge gaudy wheels on them, but to each their own. We can't all like the same thing. It is a lovely truck though, thanks for sharing. I agree Cory, looks sharp sitting there!
  12. My first thought would be a vacuum leak. If you can close the idle mixture screws and it still runs, sounds like a vacuum leak.
  13. Nice trucks, as Gary said, styling differences. And moving into EFI and OD’s. I had an 88 F250, 7.3 IDI, 5 speed ZF. I like the interiors. Always liked “wrap around” dashes.
  14. That is a bummer! Tough decision. I’m not sure what I’d do. Actually, the fact that I don’t move to well right now would factor in to me not bringing it back.
