  1. I searched too. Interesting that the first Amazon hit was for around $102, a search on the Amazon site had it for $56. Crutchfield has it for $39.99! Cool tool!
  2. That’s a bummer! I hope the fluid change does it.
  3. I figured you did, but didn’t want to assume! Edit: sounds like a thumper!
  4. On removing that baffle, some places require a spark arrestor. Like USFS, or some state agencies on trails.
  5. I would go from reverse to drive while sitting with the brake on a dozen times or so and see if that helps.
  6. This is why I think Clay should check the driveshaft on Rusty.
  7. Which HF transfer pump did you use? Been looking into something to do trannies without a drain.
  8. That’s the way to do it Shaun! Edit: clarification
  9. Good idea! Let us know how it works if you try.
  10. I think the cruise works great. Especially for a 1986.
  11. Gary, the Bill is very light, good candidate for overhead.
  12. My drivers side lock doesn’t work well either. Better when warm and when the engine is running. Seems to work better with the passenger side switch. Going to look into that someday.
  13. Also, here’s my permanent antenna mount on my truck.
  14. Heating it is a good idea. Nothing else comes to mind at the moment. Other than getting at it from the inside, which seems impossible.
  15. Nice! Congrats! I have a Ford truck and a Bronco, don’t have Flareside...
  16. Nice! Wish there was a better picture of the spare tire mount.
  17. Gary, Bill has a heat sink, no cooling holes that I remember. I’ll take a look later and correct myself if necessary. I put a President Andy in my truck and took out the huge Cobra 148 GTL. I did not find a place to put it under the dash I was comfortable with. The Bronco ashtray comes straight out. The Bullnose ashtray comes down which hindered mounting it there. Ended up putting it on the center console where the Cobra was. Which I like because it’s within easy reach.
  18. Bill has a speaker. If you mount it overhead it’ll be pointing down at you. It’s a small speaker but I haven’t had any problems hearing it. And it has an external speaker plug you could plug into your stereo if it has an aux port. The Bearcat should have an external speaker plug too.
  19. I have the Cobra 75. It’s in a box with two other older radios. I would not recommend it. Doesn’t have good transmit or reception and hard to hear the little speaker. There maybe a external speaker plug, but I don’t like it. I’ve heard some do like it and its great for space. Had it in my old 4Runner and took it out. Gave it another chance in the Xterra and didn’t work out. Now that I think about it, there is an external speaker plug in the unit you put under a seat or under the dash. Technically not all in one IMO. I tried it in the Xterra.
  20. I agree completely. I was going to say I wouldn’t want to be hookin’ it on a trail and hearing someone on your channel wanting to know where’s the best cheeseburger in these parts! Maybe a light, but I doubt you’d see it. I would use it as a way for you to get ahold of the others, the others can wait for you to transmit. I would carry it and pull it out when I stop or need something. You don’t need distractions on the bike.
  21. That looks like the best option. I wont be operating anything while riding. I would need to have this or one like it mounted to the handelbars. How would I hear someone calling me though?? Only thing I can think of is an earbud. Should have a 3.5 on it. You could have the handheld in a backpack or rear bag. Edit: Or tank bag. Backpack would probably be the best, in case you get tossed! Gary, a mag mount antenna is good for temporary use. I have a Wilson 1000, but it’s tall. I hear good things about the Wilson Lil Wil. If you’re going to leave the CB in (which is good, and sometimes required on group or club trail adventures), I would mount a permanent antenna.
