  1. This is something worth noting when looking at using the shroud/fan setup from another vehicle vs the champion one. With the champion one there is plenty of clearance since it's pretty much just a 1" deep flat wall (with holes of course). With others from cars with hoods a mile long, it's a different story. Edit: just looked at that link for the Mark VIII and those don't actually look that deep
  2. Thanks Gary. More details are in the Camano thread but I have the unbranded Champion with the shroud -flat aluminum style with two fan holes and two sets of louvers. It came with some junk fans that were terrible. I then switched to two Spal fans which required enlarging the holes some. These work absolutely great. I've towed with them and spent time in stop/go traffic with high outdoor temps (worst probably being in Tulsa during the last truck show) and haven't had any issues at all. This is the 460 with A/C and factory oil/tranny coolers. So there is a lot to pull through. One of the best things about them is that I have them powered all the time. This has completely eliminated hot start issues. This does incur some idle draw but it hasn't caused me any issues to the point where I've looked for a smarter controller or more elaborate relay/timer setup.
  3. Excellent! The show is always a highlight of the fall.
  4. Been using the 86 a fair amount lately now that the weather is good for some yard projects and possible future projects
  5. I need to hit the jys again so will go to the large truck section and look around. Will let you know if I have any luck.
  6. The Night Agent on Netflix has a nice looking Bullnose in the later episodes.
  7. Ain't that the truth eh? Well I played around with it a little more this evening and it was really worrying me that the radiator fan was not coming on, but after some trial and error I got it sorted out. My temp gun will not read the smooth/shiny surface of the Champion radiator for some reason, and I guess I thought it was hotter than it actually was. My 195F thermostat was opening and the rad was getting hot, but apparently not hot enough to trigger the fan. It is supposedly pre-set to 180F, so I after letting it sit a little bit the heat soaked into the sensor and the fan turned on. I then adjusted the temp down to 176F and it spun up faster. It also ran for a 20 second cool down once it was powered off also, so it seems to be working fine. I'm not great at judging temperature by touch, but the surface of the rad at 176F certainly feels bloody hot lol. The temp sensor is also mounted with 3M double sided tape/adhesive of some kind, so it is going to take a little time to get up to temp compared to a sensor actually immersed in the coolant. I love how smooth and quiet it makes the fan, but I need some time with it to see how it will work out. I checked the timing and it's at 5* BTDC and I can't advance it any further, so the distributor is definitely off by a tooth or so. Is there a way to adjust it by only one tooth other than just being careful? LOL. I don't want to screw it up, but I'll probably run it between 12-15 degrees (stock is 8*?). Idle was smooth at 800 RPM, but I'll get the timing adjusted and I'll get that all dialed in better. Shifted the 4R70W trans through the gears and it seems OK and there are no errors coming up on the Quick4 controller display, so my wiring (and the transmission) is looking OK so far. Next up... Move distributor and adjust timing and get that and the idle sorted. Then set up the Quick4 controller and set TPS, etc. Then install gauges so I can see what the heck is going on...lol. Excellent 👌
  8. Welcome! Looking forward to seeing some photos.

  10. Agreed. Looks in great used shape and good callout on at least needing the reinforcement bracket.
  11. I used the garage seal on the 80 farm truck and used a thin, narrow strip of aluminum bar stock left over from another project to keep it tight against the cowl and give the screws a solid surface to pull in. The seal I used definitely needed something like this as it was too soft by itself.
  12. Very neat! It shows a Bullnose dash on the box too, doesn't it? Looks like it
  13. So you just need the factory engine harness for the truck as it came off the line? The overlay takes care of the changes from there? Not knowing what the overlay does or doesn't, I think I'd start by calling them and seeing what starting point they are expecting.
  14. Welcome! Nice truck but wow, nice shop! Unfortunately there really isn't enough information to guess why the fuses are the way they are but I'd spend some time looking over the EVTM. It's invaluable with this type of stuff: https://www.garysgaragemahal.com/1986-evtm.html That will tell you what the fuses are for and where the wires go (roughly). Should give you a starting point to look them all over and inspect for problems.
  15. That's really neat! And expensive (but that's also that seller)
  16. Correct- I can't find a way to download the file using the Google Drive embedded one.
  17. Using Chrome. Embed with Google: Pop-out works. From there Print icon is greyed out. Trying to print from the browser shows a blank page. Add shortcut to my drive is available. Trying to perform actions on the 'link' that I added a shortcut to in my Drive shows the same inability to print Embed with Microsoft: Able to print. Able to download.
  18. Hey Jake, Has your search included calling up junkyards and asking? It's hit and miss around here if they keep a record or you get a "come look for yourself" type reply but worth a shot. I think I have one but I am definitely not right next door so best if we can find you something closer.

  20. Hey David - do me a favor and see if you can find a matching towel holder and soap tray
  21. Besides the eBay (not sure about NOS showing up) and jy answers, what about buying a cheap aftermarket kit just for those pieces?
