  1. That bed doesn't look bad at all. What about making plates that use the 2 and 3 hole spots with D hooks? Spread the load and that way they won't stick up like eye bolts. No doubt there is some other bracket system that would be even more flat when not in use.
  2. I think a comparison would be great and happy to participate as well. My unit is a HF type and my housing isn't stock but can take measurements. Spoke about needing a throttle kicker for a/c when idling. See what you guys think about this:
  3. Good info Gary. I didn't realize the 80 had different trailer plugs as another of its oddities.
  4. Guessing this is for the early interior manual lock bezel as that's the only one I've seen with the sleeve?
  5. Check out rearcounter. They show a couple people (besides Dennis C) that you could call and see if they do really have it.
  6. Yes - enjoy the trip. The factory electronic radio has the constant 12v and the trigger/key on 12v. Maybe you only tied into the latter. We can take a look at those diagrams when ready.
  7. That is hefty. Did it come with key fobs or are those the ones from the security system?
  8. An 8mm ratcheting wrench works really well for these.
  9. Sorry to hear about the crack but at least it is hidden. AND everything is back to working Flipping the hinge is what I did as well and works great:nabble_smiley_good:
  10. Want to replace the clutch while in there and had planned to have the truck apart by now so I knew which to order but that hasn't happened. Summit shows both as fitting: Luk 07-065 Luk 07-050 From some looking online, seems like it is the 050 with the clips on the throwout. Can anyone confirm or do I need to open it up to be sure? Also any recommendations besides Luk? This is the 80 F350 400 farm use truck.
  11. Take a look at the EVTM on the Charge page as it makes the fuse logic easier to digest. Also check out the #1 option here as it has circuits that do what you need of unused and you want to go with a 'connector' approach.
  12. Nice job! That stuff was prime for catching fire.
  13. I am sure we can work something out. I have some PTO I need to use so am off the next two weeks and don't require much prodding to visit the jy. Really considering attending but it would also be a Saturday only thing. If that happens, we could save ourselves some shipping
  14. Yep. I pulled the tach out of an F600 earlier this year and removed the lenses since they were different from our trucks thinking they might come in handy. I know not all of them came off cleanly but fingers crossed on this one. If not there is another F600 in the yard I can check
  15. Found this on eBay. Is that Check Engine what you are looking for?
  16. Yes, congrats Bruce! Gary - Looks like you've got a solution but I pulled the plastic lenses off of a 'big' truck dash bezel awhile back for future use and I feel like it had something along these lines. I'll dig them out.
  17. Brutus, hadn't heard of this rally before but looks like a lot of fun.
  18. I like it! Please tell me you have an Overlook 237 keychain
  19. It is only ~2 hours up there, and Janey just said that sounds like fun. That is really neat! And a fun connection you have with it Gary. We went there a few times growing up and actually took the kids there on the way back from your last truck show. Bruce - are you going?
  20. Good eye This would best be described as hundreds of vehicles lined up in a pasture. Cows and all. It's nice because the livestock keeps it mowed but the downside is that between and in the vehicles you often have to fight massive thorns bushes. It all does make for a nice place to spend time just walking though.
  21. This is referring to the hvac box you see in the engine bay against the firewall, passenger side. Your blower motor is there and to the right of it a red rectangle with wires going to it. What happens is that leaves, mice nests, etc end up in this area. At best it interferes with air flow. At worst debris can contact the elements on the backside of the red rectangle and catch on fire. As Gary said, removing the blower will get you a lot of access. Then you can remove the red rectangle and make sure nothing is stuck in there. The last one I pulled had string all wrapped up in it. If you find anything good - take photos Always fun to see what is in there.
  22. Do you know if I can transfer my 2 belt pulley onto these 1 wire alternators like you can for a 1G/2G to 3G? Most of the 1 wire alts are all 1 belt pulleys. You can. My 1wire came with a 6groove pulley so I swapped it with the 2V one that came with the L&L mounting kit (used to eliminate the 460 air pump bracket)
  23. Found the answer to the splice count being wrong- In the EVTM they show two wires joining at the headlight switch but they don't. A wire goes directly from the fuse to the splice. Then from the splice a single wire goes to the headlight switch.
