  1. Hmmm... the bezel appears to be in the slots, so is it possible the slotted area has been tweaked back? Looking at the photo showing the brake pedal, there is a hole [bottom] and perhaps a missing screw. I am reaching for straws, here.
  2. Make certain the bottom of the bezel is in the slots. It must drop down. If not in the slots, the bottom of the bezel will be farther away from the instrument cluster. Remember, the bottom of the bezel must go in first.
  3. See if this helps: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=YouTube+removing+instrument+cluster+F150+1986&view=detail&mid=D0C6FC1B0752819AA268D0C6FC1B0752819AA268&FORM=VIRE
  4. Does the cluster [not the bezel] move with gentle rocking?
  5. My engine came into the Garagemahal sporting 17 degrees static!!! It was a "fat" 14 degrees BTDC when I left, and the vacuum advance had been tweaked, with more vacuum canister tweaking as I drove.
  6. If there is no hesitation starting up, I would advance the static a little and listen for pinging, then do as Gary suggested.

  9. Makes me dizzy! So does the price...very nice tho! I noticed this XLT came with no headliner?
  10. Ray, Gary does most everything to make it easiest for his heirs to be able to maintain his "creations". Factory is more likely to have some form of long term support [even though through forums, etc., rather than through Ford].
  11. Photo picture card! Nice... makes you want to be there.
  12. A little more subdued, perhaps! https://iheartcats.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/4180899850_832f62c0e4_z-2.jpg
  13. It is interesting to me to see the changing dynamics of this relatively new forum of Bullnose enthusiasts. All of us had a chance to tell a little about ourselves when being introduced. Some said more than others and most was mechanical or vehicle experience. Perhaps if we knew more about what makes us tick, we could better relate and be able to connect when helping each other. I will take a chance and see how many others follow suit. I am David. I own a 1986 F150 after having previously owned a 1984 F150 and a 1978 F100. All were powered by 300/4.9L six cylinder engines. I am 64 years young, still working, and plan to for several more years. I am blessed with a wonderful and beautiful wife and 3 children, all grown. I do laboratory work as my occupation. I know more about vehicles in my head than in my fingers. I do love working on the truck and am gifted with a good memory and a desire to help others by finding parts they are searching for. I love the Lord and very thankful for my family, friends and all else that I have. I hope I did not bore you!
  14. I used to think Dodge called theirs Sport side, but a quick Internet check indicates it was called Step side, like Chevy???

  17. Gary, several years ago, I found (2) of the factory clutch safety switches [NOS]. One was installed on my 1986 and you got the second one. See if you still have it or the box... that will provide the needed numbers.
