  1. Well, I am back from the 2018 Garagemahal Ford Truck Show [what a great time to be had by all who attended!!!]. I attended in 2017, but due to mechanical problems with my truck, was unable to drive it. I decided to update this older thread by including the gas mileage for this year in the same format as before. Since the previous listings, the distributor has been replaced with a NOS Motorcraft Duraspark distributor which was recurved by a man I have come to know through another forum. He asked if I might be interested in slightly better performance and gas mileage, but would be required to use 89 octane gasoline. I agreed and the static timing is @ 16* BTDC. [edit 9/19/18; I contacted the man who recurved the distributor and can now provide the following: 20 degrees @ 2800 RPMs + initial [16*] = 36 degrees. Vacuum is 10 degrees.] This year, I decided to drive to get there as quickly as possible and drove the speed limit or with the traffic flow [faster]. Instead of my "normal" tank-by-tank description, I am going to provide the overall average for the approximately 1200 mile trip as compared to the previous 3 years. 2014 55-62 mph with no aerodynamic modifications = 21.93 mpg [highest tank = 23.26 mpg] 2015 55-62 mph with aerodynamic modifications = 24.13 mpg [highest tank = 25.72 mpg] 2016 55-70 mph [weighted towards 65-70] with aerodynamic modifications = 22.05 mpg [highest tank = 23.46 mpg] 2017 Missing data due to having driven another vehicle. 2018 65-75 mph [closer to 75] with no aerodynamic modifications] = 19.87 mpg [highest tank = 21.3 mpg]
  2. Hope to see you around 15:30 or 16:30, tomorrow!
  3. I bet Gary can "walk" you through it!
  4. Bless this Ford, oh Lord, we pray, Keep her safe both night and day. Bless the one who holds the wheel, Those who ride - Your presence feel. In Your care, may she roam--------- through towns and wilderness------- then safely home.
  5. I like the attic plan if you are willing to hold them for me, Gary. They are delicate and expensive to ship, and I certainly won’t be using them right away. David, what is your price on them? I do want to pay your asking price 🙂. I think it is a good idea to bring them, just in case for some reason, I do not make it next year. Regarding the price, I'll email you Jonathan.
  6. Chris, probably around 04:30. Gary, don't worry about Chris and the humidity... he can always show off that body by taking off his shirt!!!!!
  7. Tables would be nice, Gary. My parts are priced, but I would have to put initials on the stickers, if there is a "Parts Master".
  8. License plates for exchanging, instrument clusters, instrument bezel [non-A/C], fuse panel cover, radio bezel, hubcaps [wall art], wiper knobs, antenna, fan blower wheel, windshield trim [full set], upper and lower pieces for grill trim, seatbelt retractor covers for "Custom" models, (4) trim pieces for wheel well [screws, too], (3) stainless capped bolts [original] for front bumper, (8) bolts for side mounted break-away mirrors, (4) grey gaskets for Type 9 mirrors, chrome front bumper, chrome rear bumper, factory cold air intake and hose, windshield wiper switch [2 speed], (2) engine wiring harnesses for parts, F150 chrome exhaust tip [2005?], windshield washer and coolant reservoir with pump, red door panel, plus more?? Also, just for kicks, I have a stop sign [with graffiti] for hanging on the wall of your "man cave". Finally, while clearing my storage area, I stumbled on something I have had for over 10 years and wondered if there are any forum members who also have a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles? A man I worked with purchased a new 2006 or 2007 (?) Road King. He wanted "Screaming Eagle" mufflers and had the dealer install them before delivery. I obtained the factory original [unused] stock mufflers. They are in immaculate condition without any soot, at all, inside. If anyone would be interested, let me know and I will bring them with me.
  9. This huge threaded shank? I guess in a world of square hitch receivers this is what you get. I had one similar on my ‘68 F250. The lock washer broke and fell out leaving the ball loose. I had no choice but to cut it. It wouldn’t tighten and I darn sure wasn’t going to be able to unthread that nut off of all those threads! I have a frame mount receiver for this truck, but have not gotten around to mounting it. That is how Ford likely would have made it. Have you ever noticed how long screws and bolts are, when not needed? Take for example the seatbelt bolts and on top of that [length], they have blue Loctite.
  10. I used a short section of vacuum hose and inserted what I believe is one of the small bubblers [aerators] used in an aquarium.
  11. Good Chris! I have about 10 from AL, MS, TX. See you soon.
  12. Welcome to the forum, Butch!
