  1. Hmmm... beautiful bride! Congratulations to you, both!
  2. No doubt about that. Very nice, Ray!
  3. And the grab handle for those who might benefit from it!
  4. It certainly looks to be a XLS. The mirror(s) has been replaced as it is not black. Wouldn't you like to have the dash pieces, Gary?
  5. Greetings from the east coast Gavin (I'm in Nova Scotia). Beauty of a truck ya got there. I'm a big fan of the Flaresides, but I've never actually seen an XLS in the flesh. I'd say you've got something pretty unique there. Looks like original paint and stripes? The data tag on the driver's door jamb will tell you more about the trim/colors/options than the VIN, but I'm not sure if it will identify it 100% as a true XLS, but Gary will know. Is the tag still clear enough to read? Can't wait to see the progress on this one;). Good luck! Nice truck! Welcome to the forum!
  6. 1980, not 1981, not CUSTOM, and you would have to find and install the correct clock, but this is NOS [a little dusty]! https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1980-FORD-F100-F250-F350-RADIO-CLOCK-BEZEL/372200921359?epid=9013016825&hash=item56a8e7590f:g:ojoAAOSwEW9aWRIf
  7. Often times, it is what has been added [by a previous owner] that causes electrical issues [i.e. radios and trailer wiring].
  8. The pictured tank [still at the yard] is the same as the factory one in my 1986. I had a 1984 [type] one at last weekend's show. It will be on its way to Australia.

  10. You might also want to get in touch with Ford F834 [Jonathan]. He has experience with the inner workings of the tachometers.

  12. Hey Gary, Can you confirm that the air duct David has is the same as the one for my 1984 as pictured? I have the Ford numbers from David's duct, but I don't have mine to compare to at the moment. (I'm at work). Gary, E5TE-90675-FA & E3TE-90675-DC
  13. I had no luck finding one, but you did say "similar". Look at this one and see what you think: https://www.ebay.com/itm/80-86-Ford-Truck-Bronco-80s-90s-F700-Manual-Transmission-shifter-boot/132777259536?hash=item1eea243210:g:nRkAAOSwo9VbEgYs
  14. My truck came with the tiny air dam which was supplied with some models.
  15. Hi, Darin [and Anita]! Thanks for sharing the photos. I know Gary likes the one of "Big Blue", all alone and guarding the entrance. It was a pleasure meeting the two of you. Have a great vacation in the USA. David
  16. For 2015, I covered the grill, except for just in front of the radiator, with roof flashing. The headlights and turn signals were covered [flush] with Plexiglas. A section of foam weather stripping was placed between the radiator support and the closed hood, closing off the gap. The passenger mirror was tucked in next to the door. The original steel wheels were covered using 1980 Cadillac full wheel covers. The tires were @ ~38 psi and the bed was covered using heavy cardboard. In 2016, the headlights and turn signals were covered as before. The foam strip was used to seal the gap between the radiator support and the closed hood. The passenger side mirror was again folded next to the door. The wheels were replaced with alloy [less weight] and the tires were inflated to ~38 psi. The bed was covered using heavy cardboard. Up front was an innovative way to reduce wind drag by using a split cardboard tube [ask Chris Tubutis about this!!! ] https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ford-trucks.com-vbulletin/2000x1504/80-20160917_184951_1__9ff480b0d8c43050df3101ed633e536cd2f53338.jpg Check the results and you will see that these modifications did have a positive effect in increasing gas mileage.
  17. Gary, now that the 2018 Garagemahal Ford Truck Show is over, I wanted to sum up this thread by saying it was good to worship the Lord with your family at your church. I grew up in a church that would have special occasions where all families were encouraged to "pack the pew". On my right was Chris Tubutis and to my left was Ken Blythen and Gail [Gale?] and you and Janey. Thanks again for your most generous hospitality!
