Maybe not "finished", but looks good and not too highly priced: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1984-Ford-Bronco-XLT-4X4-302-V8-CALIFORNIA-RUST-FREE-VEHICLE-4WD/193387943372?hash=item2d06d1d5cc%3Ag%3AcekAAOSw6VVec9oR&LH_ItemCondition=3000%7C2500

Amazing work, Gary!

Kind of like new wine in old wineskins? Or, a new patch on old clothes?

Any Ford RV/ Motorhome experts on here?

Thanks Jim! I've found the parts at wrecking yards in Oregon and Georgia (if Car-Part.com is current/accurate). Problem I have right now is, my USA shipping address is no good because I can't get across the border for at least 30 days...maybe longer, and I have a bunch of parts sitting in Maine now waiting to be picked up. Shipping to Canada will still be fine, but a lot of sellers in the US don't want to do that. And, I still have to get all of the compartments opened up and make sure the intake isn't hidden in there somewhere. The locks on all of them are stuck/seized at the moment, but I hope to have them all freed up in the next couple days. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-Ford-F2UE-9R504-CA-Air-Intake-Duct-Hose-1992-1996-E-350-460-7-5L-V8/184072615405?hash=item2adb9535ed:g:fmUAAOSwmxVd6qLL https://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-Ford-VAN-Air-Filter-Cleaner-Box-Retainer-Bracket/123675691462?hash=item1ccba549c6:g:Kg8AAOSw-0xYXXRb:sc:USPSPriority!35633!US!-1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F250-F350-7-5L-V8-Stock-Dual-Outlet-Air-Box-Cleaner-Intake/184097765789?hash=item2add14f99d:g:n30AAOSw2WheAtoT -
Looks great, reamer! But, you might "catch more fish" if you edit the subject line.

It is my pleasure, Sir! -
The continued high idle does indicate a vacuum leak. Try the smoke test, again. 10 degrees BTDC should not cause hard starting. Mine is @ 16-17 degrees BTDC with no starting difficulty. The harmonic balancer ring may have shifted. Using a vacuum gauge, see what is indicated @ idle speed. It should be approaching 20" Hg. And, if you do have a miss, it likely will be seen as a twitch/jerk in the needle of the vacuum gauge. Going to 4 degrees BTDC will definitely cause sluggish performance, especially since with the original distributor, there is no advancing of the timing at higher RPMs.

The carburetor most likely has, in the past, been adjusted to run with all the extra air [vacuum leaks] coming in. It will require some adjustments to run correctly.

Thank you, Gary. Have a nice weekend!

Looks great! You should be proud.

Look at the 1st and 2nd photo of this eBay ad. It is to between the EGR valve and the rear of the engine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intake-Manifold-4-9L-6-300-Fits-77-78-80-86-FORD-E350-VAN-666586/143559706231?fits=Engine+-+Liter_Display%3A4.9L%7CMake%3AFord&hash=item216cd34677:g:1bIAAOSwGFVec83R It looks kind of like this one, but is longer with a few more ports. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1986-Ford-Escort-1-9L-Intake-Manifold-Vacuum-Fitting-E6FZ-9A474-G/163818440343?epid=17003044832&hash=item2624570697:g:A0AAAOSwjvxdSrGD

Note that under the carburetor on the passenger side is a "vacuum tree" which has about 6 or 7 ports. This is attached to the intake manifold. Not all ports are used and some are covered with a rubber cap. During the years, the heat and exposure to the atmosphere reeks havoc on the rubber and it hardens and cracks or falls off. I have found on my son's 1984 and my 1986 [both with 4.9L], that there is one particular cap which is hidden by the "spaghetti" of vacuum hoses on the passenger side. This particular port is nearest the intake manifold and nearest the exhaust manifold [heat source]. On mine, it had cracked; on my son's, it had a large opening in the center. Be sure to look closely at that one. By the way, that smoke test was on a 1984 with the feedback emissions system still in operation [original].
