  1. "Purdy", but not cheap. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-Ford-E3TZ-1023942-B7U-1984-1985-Ford-Door-Inside-Panel-NOS/254768592899?hash=item3b51643803:g:iMQAAOSwHHxforih
  2. Gary, a few days ago, another forum member [Cinamon] was looking for a "Custom" center bezel [Projects forum; 10/28/20]. He contacted the following seller and the seller would not separate the two items. Perhaps he and you could work together on this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/80-86-Ford-F150-Custom-F250-F350-Bronco-Dash-Instrument-Cluster-Radio-Bezel/274488085308?epid=1528534502&hash=item3fe8c3cb3c:g:lysAAOSw3WZfV~JD
  3. Hello, Vinny! Haven't heard from you in a while.

  5. Hmmmm, the other day, I was storing and cleaning and found a NOS vacuum gauge. I believe it is smaller than the one currently in Big Blue. It is shaped like an old steering column mounted tachometer.
  6. Look for a green wire which connects to the negative post of the coil.
  7. To add to what Frank Wyatt said regarding the ~1/2 point rise in compression, the EFI head combustion chamber design is "fast burn", so timing adjustments will need to be made for the best performance.
  8. Gary, might this be archived so one can see how the sealing was done by the factory? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Ford-EOTZ-18476-A-E3TZ-18476-F-Heater-Core-Seal-Assembly-w-Insulation/143814405876?epid=1211134037&hash=item217c01aef4:g:CiUAAOSwfmFfnFHf
  9. Gary, regarding the lock rods, what part is E0TZ-1022135-B?
  10. Gary, here is an old trick taught to me years ago by a man who tried to teach a younger man to appreciate classic automobiles. Take painters masking tape [easily removed] and go one area at a time so as to be able to determine where the noise originates: tape around the hood where it is next to the fenders, grill and windshield cowl. Tape around the headlight doors. Tape all around the passenger door and if desired, ask Janey to "tape you in" by sealing the driver's door. Tape around the windshield trim [next to the windshield and next to the body]. Take both mirrors and collapse next to the door and drive carefully. The older gentle man had a Corvette which was equipped with only the driver's side rearview mirror. He added the optional passenger side rearview mirror and noticed an increase in wind noise.
  11. This is reportedly for a Crown Victoria... could it work? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1980-FORD-CROWN-VICTORIA-COUNTRY-SQUIRE-CB-RADIO-NETWORK-ASBY-E0AZ-18B812-B/391972446546?epid=19014091589&hash=item5b4360e152:g:X5QAAOSwZ11acSjl
  12. Wanted to say thanks for thinking of me! After some discussion, payment and shipping I received the full set of mirrors, wires and templates yesterday!!! I couldn't be happier. Now........who can help me find a CB radio? Wanted to say thanks for thinking of me! After some discussion, payment and shipping I received the full set of mirrors, wires and templates yesterday!!! I couldn't be happier. Now........who can help me find a CB radio? You are most likely thinking along the lines of a Ford CB radio system... the following is not that but is a period correct NOS aftermarket unit which looks like it will fit 1980-1984 trucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1970s-1980s-In-Dash-23-Channel-CB-with-AM-FM-MPX-Stereo-Radio-dp/264917588214?epid=1373319023&hash=item3dae5198f6:g:QIIAAOSwmGNfm2B4

The vertical metal piece between the vent window and door window is wider on the later doors.

  19. Yes, a not uncommon problem after someone tries to manhandle the door lock without disconnecting the linkage. What is your plan regarding getting the linkage away from the outer door skin?
  20. These small plastic vacuum lines become brittle and can leak or break. These are attached at the ends via a rubber adapter. The whole line(s) can be replaced with the appropriate ID rubber vacuum hose. Use a sharp utility knife or razor blade to gingerly cut through the rubber adapter so the line can come off without breaking the plastic fittings on the solenoids. Do this one line at a time so you do not cross the lines. It will be wise to mark each rubber line so you know what the original color was. Some people use small wire ties of the closest color [i.e. red for pink] wrapped around the appropriate rubber hose, since all the vacuum lines will now be black. Or, take a short piece of the original colored plastic vacuum line and tape it to the replacement rubber vacuum hose. Any vacuum leak will cause idle problems. The cigar works!
  21. Matthew, let me save you [and your wife] some money and stress... leave it like it is! It can only be original once and your truck has such nice patina and it has a great story to go with it. Drive it "as is" and be proud that you have the only one like it. Anybody can have a truck painted, but how many have one so original as is yours?
