  1. Yep. I think I'm doing anything else rather than clean off the work table so I have room to bring the headers into the shop. So I've found lots of excuses to do other things. Like the URL discussion. Like approving something like 5 new users today, and responding to their posts. But, I have gotten SOME cleaning done. Best get back to it......
  2. You are on the map. And, you can get the fuel tank situation sorted. As for the hood hinge, you need to replace that thing!
  3. I'm pretty sure that the tanks with the larger openings go right in where the earlier tanks were. The only issue you should have is getting the right sending unit. But, Ford did make a number of trucks in '85 and '6 that still had mechanical pumps, so there are sending units for them w/o the electric, in-tank pump. Both the 300 six and the 351HO are in this category as they didn't have an electric pump in those years. But the 460 is a different story as it came both ways - with a mechanical pump or with in-tank pumps. And, I think the filler tubes stayed the same. But you can check that out in the snippet below from the page at: Documentation/Fuel Systems/Fuel System Part #'s/Fuel Filler Pipes. (Man, that's complex! ) However, lets see what others have to say. Maybe I missed something?
  4. Welcome! Sure glad you joined. What part of Oregon? We have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we can add you if we have a town/city/zip code. And, we are in awe of the cheap and nice trucks you have up there. There are usually two or three per day shown on here for a lot less money than they'd get elsewhere.
  5. A 1406 worked fine on Big Blue's 460. But the 750 CFM Eddy was stronger. To put a video on here you should first put it on Youtube. Then get the embed code and paste that into your post. Plus, you have to tick the "Message is in HTML Format" box above. See the instructions on the Embedding tab on Bullnose Forum/Forum FAQ's for more info.
  6. We need to discuss which URL we use for the site. I teed this discussion up on the Sticker thread earlier this morning, but things have moved on a bit since, so thought we ought to discuss it here. As of today we "own" three URL's thanks to Scott/kramttocs. He realized that we call this place the Bullnose Enthusiasts forum, but we didn't have the bullnoseenthusiasts.com URL. So, for $12 we now do, and it redirects here just like bullnosebible does. Now we need to decide which one(s) to use. But, I should 'splain a bit: I grabbed the garysgaragemahal URL years ago when I was building the shop, which got dubbed the garagemahal. I used that to create a website that was intended to explain how I built the shop. Then I taught some classes at church and used the website to host them for others to use. Later when I got into these trucks and discovered that FTE doesn't have a good way to create documentation I used the URL for that. Then I learned that I could have a forum on the site, so added this forum to the same URL. But as of this writing we have 684 members for the forum, and we are adding several a week. And we have about that many pages of documentation - with many of those pages having embedded documents of up to 100 pages on them. So "garysgaragemahal.com" is not really appropriate anymore. It does not suggest what resides within. Besides, it sounds like "me" and I want it to sound like "us". Given that, please vote on this poll. It'll be open for a week, after which we may make some changes depending on the voting. And if you have other suggestions, please chime in. Now is the time, before we make any changes. NOTE: If we change away from garysgaragemahal.com we will have it redirect to whatever we change to so any bookmarks out there will still work.
  7. Yes, VERY well done! I was just saying yesterday that I don't want to go to an aftermarket wheel 'cause I'll loose the speed control. But not now!
  8. I'm familiar with Hallett. Haven't been in there, but have driven by bunches of times. Nice Mustang! Normally we have a Ford truck show on the third Saturday of September here in Skiatook and several of the folks from the forum come. In fact, year before last we had members from MS, AR, KS, CO, CA, and NZ awa Australia. But, I fear for this year's meeting. We shall see.
  9. That sounds great! Please add me. Oddly enough, the member's map doesn't show up on my end right now. Says "admin.google.com refused to connect." and has a little sad face. It might be this work computer though. I will do that next! I've been trying to remember to take pictures of what I do, but sometimes I just get right to it and forget. I was not...but I am now. I will try to do that in my build thread. You are now on the map. And, as you'll see, you aren't far from me in the Tulsa area.
  10. Chris - Welcome! Glad you joined. Little Rock, huh. Would you like to be on our map? (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu.) Wow, you have a lot of cool plans. And, have done a lot of work already. Hope you'll start a thread in the main section to detail your build. And, are you aware you can put your spreadsheet in a post? And then any changes you make behind the scenes will automagically get updated? You'll have to have the spreadsheet on something like Google Drive or OneDrive, but it works. See the first post of Big Blue's Transformation for an example. See Bullnose Forum/Forum FAQ's for how to do that.
  11. Just to make sure I understand, you mean the one below, right? As for "whichever url Gary wants", this is our site, so let's make the name of it what we want. So I need to see what that is. Also, what about making it "The World's Primary Resource for 1980-1986 Ford Trucks"? The problem is that saying "Pickups" excludes Broncos which we do welcome. On the other hand, saying "Trucks" includes the little Rangers and Bronco-II's, which we don't include. Thoughts? Suggestions? Better Ideas? (This IS a Ford site. )
  12. Also, let's have a discussion about the URL on the sticker. I "own" both garysgaragemahal.com as well as bullnosebible.com. As Vic said, the latter is redirected to the former. And, he also said that the bullnosebible.com URL is/has "Shorter domain, simpler association, slightly easier to remember." So, we could put either on the sticker and the user would get to the same place. And, if I swap them, meaning that the website uses bullnosebible and garysgaragemahal gets redirected to that it would be less confusing. On top of that, I fear that having my name in the URL of what is becoming a global resource is a bit ..... ostentatious. I'm not looking for fame or recognition. Instead, I want this place to be "the place" for help when it comes to Bullnose trucks. So, what do y'all think? Should we change the URL to bullnosebible.com? I think I can do that seamlessly. Or, do you like garysgaragemahal.com?
  13. Thanks, 'Dude. At least we can see what it looks like. And, btw, I have one of each so am ambivalent.
  14. That's an interesting approach - just the nose of a Bullnose. I think I like it. But, it is only "correct" for 1982-86. The 1980 & 81's have the LGG (Last Great Grille), as coined by a friend on FTE. (WilleyJoe.62 to be exact.) I believe my poll was premature. Let's let the creative juices continue to flow, and then do another poll with all the entries in it.
  15. And, I missed that in the sig. Jason - Want me to add you to the map?
  16. That's a good point, David. Air pressure can make a big difference regarding following ruts. The issue is where the tire is making its main contact with the pavement. If you have the air pressure set where the tire is hitting the pavement with equal pressure across the tire then the edges may try to follow the ruts. But if you increase the air pressure just a bit there will be more pressure in the center of the tread and less on the edges, and less tendency to "hunt".
  17. And, just like that you added a signature, inc your name. Well done!
  18. Welcome! Glad you joined. Where is MS? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and I'd be happy to add you if I just had a city or zip code. The pic is sideways because you took it sideways and this forum, like many forums, isn't smart enough to decode the orientation info in the pic's metadata and turn it. But if you open the pic in editing software/app and then save it that usually does the trick. Your computer/phone/tablet will re-orient the pic and when you save it it should work in the forum. That, and how to create a signature, is explained on the page here: Bullnose Forum/Forum FAQ's. I'm still hoping to own a Bronco one day. So I'm envious. And, will be watching your build closely. So, I hope you'll start a thread on it in the main section so we can all kibbitz.
  19. Looks great, Alex! Well done! I particularly like your wheels. They are some of my favorites, and not often seen with 8 lugs.
  20. Sounds like a plan. Last fuel line question for now (promise!): My local shop has both 5/16" fuel hose (low pressure) and 5/16" fuel injector hose. I'm presuming that since mine is carburated, it is likely low pressure hose but I could use either? The fuel injector hose would just be stronger/thicker to withstand the higher pressure of a EFI system. Do you guys use fuel line spring band clamps or the the screw tightened fuel line clamps? Currently the truck has the spring clamps (and one busted) - tempted to swap to the screw tightened one to avoid that in the future. I use hose that says it is rated for ethanol. I don't remember exactly what it says on it, but it says something about working with alcohol-based fuels. But you are right about low pressure for carbs. You don't need the stronger EFI-rated hose, but it won't hurt.
  21. Congrat's! Glad it worked, and glad he likes it.
  22. I think your edit puts you on a reasonable path. And, this isn't a "go fast" part. The truck isn't going to go any faster with either tank. So go with a stockish setup and put your money where it will matter.
  23. Sold! For $250! Wow. I wonder how long it'll be before it cracks? To me, when you get over half the price of a new one you'd be better off to bite the bullet. Given Shaun's experience with a used pad cracking, I can't see spend big bucks for one.
  24. I'm sorry, but I can't modify or edit the poll. It just won't let me. But vote for the "other" and you've explained what that is. As for price, we've not gotten that far. I've never had stickers made, but surely they can't be all that expensive. Does anyone know?
