  1. Fortunately it isn't. I found last night this statement: "XenForo can be made to look like your website and integrate seamlessly." And there was further discussion, not discourse, on how to do that. But, there's a downside - as Jeff pointed out there are some tools that help migrate from Nabble to Discourse, but don't appear to be to Xenforo. However, over the last few days I've been helping a guy from church paint the rear bumper on his daughter's Charger, and during that time I explained what we are trying to do regarding the forum. So he explained what he used to do - ETL, which he said stands for Extract Transform Load, which is exactly what we need to move the Nabble forum's data to a new forum. And he'd like to take that project on, assuming we can find the format of whatever platform we choose to use. So far I've not found anyone who says they know how to migrate from Nabble to Xenforo, but there are plenty who say they migrate from other platforms to Xenforo. So apparently the Xenforo format is a known entity. But as of this writing we've not given up on Discourse yet. That may happen later today though.
  2. Are you saying that you think the EVTM is wrong? That is certainly possible and I've made notes in cases where we've found that. But if you just have a Bronco harness in an F-series that's not an error in the EVTM. So I just need to understand what you are saying.
  3. Greetings, Stein! Eddie is looking good! I took the liberty of rotating your pic, not your tires. But the wheels look good. My go-to for gaskets is Fel-Pro. Don't know anything about Cometic, sorry.

  5. All of these are in the 85 EVTM: There's a P/LB wire on Page 27 running from the ignition module to the distributor. And on Pg 141 going from the speed control amplifier to the speed control server There's a P/LG wire on Pg 123 going from the driver's tailgate window switch to the tailgate window switch on a Bronco. C124 is shown on pages 5, 10, 21, 63, 70, 73, 80, 81, 82, 98, 103, 123, & 124 C127 is shown on pages 6, 7, 10, 14, 98, 99, 102, 104, 105, 106, 110, 116, & 134. Hope that helps.

  8. Yikes! I can only imagine! Those balancers are heavy, and spinning at 6500 R's would make them very dangerous.
  9. Hey, I'm not the one saying Keep It Simple, Stupid. I agree with you that it is lots easier to tune the EFI to 14.9 AFR with BE than to swap jets on an AFB. (Yes, I know that swapping rods is easy, but there is only so much you can do with rods before needing to swap jets.) And the AFR stays where it is supposed to be instead of leaning out as you ease into it before the rods pop up. And vacuum modulators are frequently the issue, not just on C6's or 727s, but on a Powerglides as well. I remember so well when I was at K-State and came down with mono during finals. A buddy drove my 58 Belaire to Newton where my mother took over. But it wasn't shifting right and she wanted to know why. "Vacuum modulator, Mom. I'll change it out when I get over this crud." So I'm happy with the tech I/we've installed. Just need to move on to Dad's truck and pick your brain on the E4OD setup. Maybe even clone your tune but tell it I have a 400 instead of a 460.

  14. I think you can pull through an EFI pump, but I've not tried it. However, the plug you are talking about has both power to the pump as well as the signal to the fuel gauge. So if you unplug it you won't have a working gauge. The schematic below shows how that should have originally been wired, so you could remove the BR/W wire on the front tank and/or the R wire on the rear tank to keep from providing power to the pump and still have the gauge.
  15. Let's see, EFI with MAF & SEFI are KISS when compared to a carb? An E4OD is simpler than a C6? I think it is too late for KISS on Big Blue.

  17. Yes, I'm home after church and the luncheon that followed. And I ate too much. Anyway, glad you joined. And Jim is right about the map, we can put you on with a city or zip. I'm curious to see where you are as I've been on Lake Powell several times, so know something about Page and that area. As for support, we may take you up on that. Heretofore I've paid all the fees, which don't amount to a lot. But if we go to another forum platform then there will be a cost and it will probably be time for me to ask for help for the whole thing.
  18. Nick - Glad you joined. And thanks for the how-to on painting panels. That will certainly help. And a couple of other things. First, we ask that people go to the New Members Start Here folder and post an intro there. That's because we have our guidelines posted there and want to ensure everyone's had a chance to read them as we hold everyone to them. Second, we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we can add you with a city/state or ZIP if you'd like.
  19. The balancers on some of the Benz V6's were known to walk off and cause quite a bit of excitement, but hadn't heard about breaking the crank. Ouch!
  20. Roughly 1/2". But my assumption is that the hole on the -K model isn't tapped where the -M is. I don't know, but it would seem odd to call out the hole diameter rather than the tapped size if it is tapped.
  21. Cory - Your ID # of D9TE 9A589-HA is shown in the MPC as crossing over to PN D9TZ 9A589-K & Motorcraft # CM-3534, the same as Matt's new one. You can see in the snippet below that it says yours has a 1/4-18 pipe plug where the D7 version has a .59" hole.
  22. Thanks, Bill. You are right, those are the conditions in which I'd be wanting to bypass the clutch safety switch. And your setup would get the desired result of being able to crank w/o pushing in the clutch and having one hand on the wheel. (It would require one hand on the shift lever to be pushing the start switch.) My approach accomplishes the same thing - left hand pushes the bypass button and then moves to the steering wheel while the right hand turns the key to Start. But yours is more robust as it is mechanical rather than electronic. Thanks, but I'll continue on which my plan and fall back to something else if it doesn't work.
