  1. Do you mean an inch taller on wheels or tires? You should look to see what tire available in 16" wheels. I don't know what is better.
  2. The ones in the pic were 6" wide. But I don't have them any more.
  3. These are wagonwheels. Dad's truck came with those from the factory.
  4. I’m basically finished with the inside of the trench at least… but funny you should mention that… my son just turned 29 and is going to come stay with us for a while. I will sure be able to use his help 💪 That's great! I'll bet it will be fun to work with him - in addition to having two more hands to help.
  5. Not Mars, but Nicaragua. Less than universal wifi and lots of work. He's the director for One World Health for that part of the world and they build health care facilities so the rank and file have access. They've built something like 10 facilities in the recent years and, while he's there, he meets with his staff. Plus, having lived there for years, he has friends he may visit. And, last I heard, you don't fly into Nicaragua you fly into Costa Rica and drive up to Managua. So he will be busy. I'm sure he'd like the aluminum wheels like I have on Dad's truck. Or wagon wheels. Or steelies and I'll find covers. Just something somewhat period correct that gets away from the thimble/rubber band look the PO put on. Thanks!
  6. I wish I could answer that, but he is traveling and will be out of the country so will be hard to contact. (Plus his wife and kids arrive here in 5 hours so I'll be having too much fun to worry about it. ) But what he has said in the past is that he wants a stockish look. He wasn't sure what stock was, so I'm sure there is flexibility there. In our text conversation last night he said he wants "tall & skinny". But compared to the 10 1/2" wide rims he has now, 7" rims would be skinny. And compared to what the tires looked like on those rims, 235's would look skinny.
  7. We have some info that might help: Documentation/Exterior/BEDS, TAILGATES, & COMPONENTS: Show factory illustrations, bed bolt part numbers and dimensions, etc Documentation/Suspension & Steering/BODY MOUNTS: Has similar info but also has a table for where we've measured the holes in the frame to be. Hope that helps.
  8. No hurry as TJ will be on a trip as of today for about a week. Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the explanation, Jonathan. I know you have told me before, but you also know how old I am, so... It sounds like you have it well planned.
  10. Progress!!! Sorry you've been ill, but I hope you are over it and hitting it full steam. And it is always great to have someone looking out for you. Glad you have her. Hope she is doing better. So is there just one pour? When it is done you put the superstructure, if that's what its called, on?
  11. My SiL, TJ/tjmac, is looking for tires and wheels for his '84 F150 called L'il Blue. He knew the wheels on the truck are way too wide, but didn't realize that the tires are quite old. He'd like stock-sized wheels, but might could go a bit taller and/or wider than stock. And he's in Charleston, SC. So if anyone near there has a good set of tires and wheels you are willing to sell please let him know.
  12. That is why I didn't want to put a simple toggle switch on Big Blue to bypass the clutch safety. At almost 77 it won't be long before it'll be my offspring driving it. And I don't want to be responsible for them getting hurt. So I took great pains to create a bypass arrangement that gives the driver 10 seconds to start w/o releasing the clutch after arming the system. But only 10 seconds, so it has to be pretty deliberate.
  13. You two have an email connecting you.
  14. Very nice! Don't need one, but it is nice.
  15. Welcome! Glad you joined. However, you apparently missed the email that Jim sent you asking you to make your first post in New Members Start Here folder. We do that because we have the guidelines there and since we will hold you to them we want you to have had an opportunity to read them. So once you've done that come back here and we'll discuss the fuel pump issues you are having. And, don't worry - this happens frequently and we recover from it.
  16. Jeff - I see that post but I'm not 100% sure I understand. I think what you are telling me is that you are looking for lots of improvement plugins and while doing that you may have found one for going to a given page in a long thread. Is that right? I think that's right, but when I first read your post I thought you were saying that you've compiled a list of things we should look at. But there are 24 things per page and 78 pages, so I'm guessing that's not your list but the whole list. Anyway, back to the jump-to-page button. I searched for that function but didn't find it. And I looked to see if that is something that can be turned on in the phpBB setup, but didn't find it there, either. I'm missing something.
  17. FYI, my experience on POR15 is that the first coat goes on great, but the 2nd coat of base is hard to do because you can't tell the shiny wet stuff you are putting on from the shiny 1st coat. So just do your best to slather everything with POR15. However, I don't use the POR15 top coat. You do need a top coat to keep the UV from turning the base coat white, but while the POR15 base coat is sticky any top coat will stick to it. So I bathe the thing in POR15 and while it is sticky spray it with whatever top coat I want. So much easier than trying to brush on their top coat, and so much faster. Otherwise the base coat starts to set up, you leave brush marks, etc.
  18. I didn't install this one, so don't have a part number. Besides mine is a 10.25" axle. Summit didn't find any Truetrac for your truck, saying "There are no results for your 1981 FORD F-250 that match your search criteria." And the Eaton application guide doesn't show any either from what I can see. Bummer!
  19. My Pormido front/rear camera system is also a dash cam. About $250.
  20. Sorry about the stroke! Please take appropriate cautions from now on. As for the diff, while your application might be ok with welding, I've not done that and don't know what needs to be done to make that happen. But at the very least I'd think the diff needs to be out or, if you weld like me, you'll have spatter in the gears that will cause horrible problems. And if you are going to take it out then I think I'd want to go back with something "good". I, too, have a True Trac and love it. The thing just works when it needs to and doesn't cause any problems otherwise. No need for a way to engage it. Just install and enjoy.
  21. Let me try to summarize where we are with comparing phpBB to InVision. But y'all can look at the spreadsheet to get a clearer picture. There are three categories and within them several attributes. I'll try to hit the major differences: Must Haves: Embedability: We still aren't sure exactly how well either platform will work being embedded, and won't know until Chris has a chance to spend more time testing them. Posting links: It ain't easy on phpBB, although Jeff has found an add-in that may fix that. Won't know until Chris can install it. But this could be a major issue. Ought To Haves: Avatars: InVision swallowed my 4.2MB file and didn't complain, but phpBB barfed as it was way larger than the limits. So maybe we need to up the limits? Bulleted & numbered lists: It is complicated on phpBB and dead simple on InVision. Nice To Haves: Drafts: phpBB lets you save a draft but InVision doesn't. Word documents: You can paste a whole Word document into either, but only InVision retains the formatting.
  22. Man, that is a BUMMER! So sorry. I'd be very upset, which may be why it has taken you a week to post?
