  1. I don't have a Bronco, yet, so I've not done it. But is it ok if I put that TSB in our repertoire? I'm sure I have it on paper, but haven't scanned it in, so using yours would sure make it easy.
  2. Yep, I'm in full agreement. So if I don't show the sense wire wrapped at the alternator in what I do remind me, please. Albeit gently? There is sooooo much to do on this to get it "right" that it is taking a while.
  3. From the factory each panel was a different shade. Someone recently asked if that Bullnose that went for $97K had been restored, and I looked at the interior and said NO! If it had been restored someone would have painted all the panels and they would have matched. But, they didn't, and that is the way they came from the factory.
  4. Jim - Thanks for your response and your offer of more pics. I think I understand how you did your conversion, but while it obviously works for you I think we want an easier way to recommend to others. And on the pics, let's see where this goes as right now I think I have what I need. But thanks again. Bill - The later schematic sure looks familiar as that's where I'm getting the 3G schematic I'm dropping into the 1 & 2G schematics. But your experience with the burned junction explains why Jim/ArdWrknTrk recommends wrapping the sense wire right back to the output at the alternator. (Which I've failed to do on the schematics so far, I'm now remembering.)
  5. Man, I gotta tell ya, I like this! Very nicely done!!! Thanks, Scott and John. I think it is all coming together, but there's lots more to do. The power and ground to the inverter should be done this week if the grommets come in soon. Then it is time to wire up Mission Control, and that is going to be a challenge.
  6. That's a really nice seat. But it sure is EXPENSIVE! It is the same color combo that is on the seat in Rusty, this one looks like the darker color if fabric where the one in Rusty is vinyl.
  7. Interesting. I'd never seen one in at that angle. Thanks, Vic.
  8. LOL! David needs to start keeping track of all the money he helps us spend.
  9. Thanks, Jim. Yes, I'm very pleased with the way that turned out. It is fiddly to get in there because it is such a tight fit, but it works nicely. As I was just telling Janey, the storage unit is going to be home to a number of things that can take advantage of the power there. For instance, my jump-start battery has a 120v charger so will be plugged into the inverter and will always be "hot". The GMRS handhelds can be charged via the 12v power port. My really nice flashlight charges via USB, as do the LED worklights I got for $8/ea. And, by the way, those things are indispensable, so at least one will go on any overlanding trip. Plus, I'll probably take some of my Ridgid 18V tools on any trip, and the charger for them will plug into the inverter. On several trip reports I've read that downed trees have been a pain, so the cordless sawzall will go. And an impact might be handy. And maybe a drill. So, I see the inverter and the storage unit being extremely handy!
  10. I like it, but....there is something about the rear bumper and guards that makes the rear of the truck look frumpy. Yes, I know I could take that off, but it just doesn't make me want the truck. (Nor does the 360, but it could easily be replaced with a 390 and no one would know - until they drove it.)
  11. Yes, nice. And it reminds me of my '72. Yes, there were definite changes 'twixt '72 and '73, but in my mind they were quite similar. However, from '79 to '80 was the huge change.
  12. Got the relay box wired up today, the one with the relay for the air compressor, the two USB charging ports, & two 12v power ports. Here's a shot of it before installation: And here 'tis with 12v on it. The USB ports pull ~25ma together and the plug-in charger on the right adds ~5ma. Last, here it is installed and connected to the power inputs of the inverter. Power to both of them will be controlled by the Aux Power switch in Mission Control, and the relay will be pulled in via the Air Compressor switch there as well.
  13. Hope you get your tranny soon. That dip stick looks odd. Is it an add-on? Do you know?
  14. Thanks, Bill. I obviously had it backwards.
  15. I don't know, but I think that's a valve to open the bowl vent. You don't have anything connected to the bowl vent, so if you aren't using it you won't need that valve. I'm guessing that it is closed at idle and opens when you give some throttle. But that may be backwards. As for vacuum lines, have you looked at this page: Documentation/Underhood/Vacuum Systems?
  16. Man, that looks COLD! (But then it is 25F here with a layer of ice.) So it makes sense to wait. Be careful and don't get the trailer messed up!
  17. Looking good, Nick. But how will you get in, assuming that there will be a bar angled down the door?
