  1. Lots of leaking at the muffs is normal. You want plenty of water pressure on the system to ensure there is water to the impeller. But not getting water out of the prop when running suggests a bad impeller.
  2. I think marine relays are to be sealed like the starters, etc. Don’t want to ignite a bilge full of gasoline fumes. My OMC used 4 of those for trim/tilt and another for starting, and they went out frequently and cost quite a bit more than an automotive unit.
  3. Progress! But a word of caution on relays for a PMGR. I have a Powermaster PMGR and tried using a standard Bosch relay, which worked for a while but then gave intermittent power to the starter- in the middle of cranking. Called Powermaster and they said I should NOT use a Bosch relay. Instead use a standard Ford starter relay. I did and the problem went away. But others have different results, so maybe it is just the starter I have? However, what starter do you have?
  4. We are having a blast. Headed up to Gornergrat tomorrow, so there will be a lot more pics.
  5. Cory - I’m in Switzerland so can’t look it up for you, but I’m pretty sure that info is in the 1985 Body Builder’s book: https://www.garysgaragemahal.com/1985-body-builders.html
  6. There are several types of crimping tools. The ones I won’t use without soldering are the cheap ones that double as strippers. But the ratcheting or hydraulic crimpers do a good job if you have to correct die and the connection won’t need soldering. However, I always use adhesive-lined heat shrink over any connection.
  7. Progress! And it is good. Are you going to try to start the engine before getting the new ignition stuff? If not the late delivery of the carb won’t be a problem. Glad you are going gently on the gelcoat. It is hard to repair and almost impossible to get the color right. But you can use polish or compound to take some of the weathering away so the spots that have been protected by the decals aren’t as noticeable. Last, IMHO crimp connections shouldn’t be used on boats - unless you solder after crimping.
  8. We aren’t as close as we were. Flew into Zurich and have worked our way down to Lugano now. Headed back north today and then west towards Zermatt. On the brake system, there’s no bleed screw I’m aware of on the master. You just put a small amount of air pressure on top of the fluid in the master and that pushes fluid through the lines and out the bleed screws on the wheel cylinders and calipers.
  9. Rene - Remember the trip I mentioned? I’m about 440 clicks south of you, so won’t be on here very much. But the way the bleeding works is to get a second cap for the master cylinder, put a fitting in it for compressed air, and then put about 3 psi on it. You don’t even have to have a compressor as you can use a garden sprayer to pump up the pressure. Then just bleed starting at the longest run and stop when you get solid brake fluid w/o any bubbles.
  10. Looks great! And I'm happy that there is such a huge difference in the slack of the steering.
  11. How many ways have I misspelled your name? It is fixed. But I'm guessing that the folks at Ellis Island are to blame.
  12. I would test at C305, the curved connector on the steering column to see if you have power going in on the W/R and then power out on the LG/O and O/LB wires.
  13. On Saturday, the 16th, we held the 2023 edition of the Ford Truck Show. I didn't take any of the pictures, but know that others did and hope they'll post them here. However, Steve Fox/Foxford33 did take FaceBook videos of many of the trucks which you can find on the Bullnose Forum FB page. In toto we had 18 entrants, which is about 1/2 of what we had last year, although 10 of those were Bullnose. And I attribute the difference to two things - the weather and the weekend chose. On Saturday we had rain in many places across Oklahoma, and while we only got a little bit some places got a lot. So people were reluctant to come out. In fact, I had several text or call asking if the show was going to happen. As for the weekend chosen, last year we had it on Labor Day weekend, which may have helped as lots of people were looking for things to do after the COVID lockdown eased. But we collectively decided that having it on the holiday weekend wasn't what we wanted to do, so moved it back two weeks. And while that may have deterred some, it sure got us a whole lot better weather! Entrants Gary Lewis: '85 F250 from Skiatook, OK. 14. If you don’t have that flame arrester then you should seriously consider the combo. Two birds/one big bill.
  15. $7500??? Maybe I'm remembering a few years ago, but I don't think that truck is worth more than $5K. What is a "deodorized gas tank"? Its only been driven twice in the last 8 years and hasn't been driven faster than 10 MPH then? There could, and probably will, be lots of things wrong with it that will show up when it is driven. A daily or frequently driven truck usually has the kinks worked out. But one like this will be full of kinks that will make you cry as you peel the onion.
  16. Yikes! Those are extremely high taxes! No wonder people are buying electric vehicles if they don't have the same taxes. As for the wind, as low as that is compared to sea level it is understandable that the wind would come right on through. So you hid Eddie behind the bush? But something like 900 RPM on that truck at 50 MPH? That is LOW! Hard to believe it would have the power to pull at that speed.
  17. Is this the one you need? "1980/" means 1980 to the end of the catalog, which was 1989.
  18. Yes, welcome! Glad you joined. As Jim said, we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we can add you with a city/state or zip. On the pictures, this forum's software is antiquated (just like I am) and you have to orient the pics correctly before posting. You can read a bit on that on the page at Bullnose Forum/Forum FAQ's.
