  1. PST will do it. Dunno on the magnet. Good job!
  2. Yes, I think most people will be able to handle that. And there are copies of them in the binder in the console, as well as the wiring schematics, ECU pinouts, owners manuals for things like the winch, Sony & Midland radios, GMRS license for the Midland, etc. As said, my intent is to have everything very well documented, not only so Big Blue can be maintained but so I can move on to Dad's truck.
  3. Just to document it in here as well as WHYDTYTT, today I laminated the layout for the passenger's side PDB and glued it in the lid, and laminated the layout in the stock fuse box and glued it to the outside of the cover. But it wasn't quite as easy as that makes it sound. The PDB lid has ridges on the inside of it that are apparently to ensure you get the relays and fuses all the way down. But those ridges are at different heights and make laying that illustration in there very difficult. So I milled the ridges so they are all the same height and then glued the illustration to them.
  4. You'll love the trip odometer. At least I do. I like the tach, but...
  5. Still working on the "documentation" for Big Blue. Today I laminated the layout for the passenger's side PDB and glued it in the lid, and laminated the layout in the stock fuse box and glued it to the outside of the cover.
  6. Yep, you'll be fine. As you can see you have a place for the tach to bolt in, the 4 holes, but don't have the circuitry to support it. But the new one has both.
  7. Jim & David - Thanks! I was struggling to find pictures and know what to tell Vivek about the speedo. But let's put the picture here 'cause at some point that advert will be taken down and no one will know what the metric speedo looks like. Vivek - See why I suggested posting on here. These guys know far more than I do, and collectively we know a LOT.
  8. Yes, I think that's the one he needs. But the #'s don't make sense to me.
  9. Jim - The tank selector lever goes on the right side - where this one is blank. It mirrors the fan switch.
  10. Herein lies the fallacy (stupidity?) of Ford's numbering system. People assume, for an obvious reason, that the number on a part is a part number. But no, Ford had a Better Idea! So they, and we, have people wanting to buy a part based on the number on the part - which in Fordspeak is an ID #. However the #'s in the master parts catalog are, oddly enough, part numbers, not ID #'s. Given that they issued a Master Cross Reference List wherein you can look up either the ID # or the PN and find the other one - in theory. But what I see on the part in question is E1AH 190961-BA. And there is no 19096, much less a 190961, in the 1985 MCRL - that I can find. So let's go back to the page I referenced at Documentation/HVAC/HVAC Systems and then go to the Part Numbers tab. There you'll find lots of #'s, inc the ones below, from which I think we are looking for PN E4TZ 19980-N. And from the MCRL I see that it should have the ID # of E4TH 19980-MA on it. But let's assume that the number on the part is actually E4TH 19980-BA. That crosses to E4TZ 19980-G, which the MPC says is for an 84 with an aux fuel tank, and that control does not have the switch for the aux tank.
  11. It was in my memory. 76+ years is a looooong time, so what's a few days? Anyway, I obviously misunderstand your reference.
  12. Bob - You can change the email address by editing your personal information.
  13. Thank you. It appears to be bolted onto the panel so I'm going to try to get it apart and possible repair it. Don't miss the how-to on repairing those controls by one of our newest members: Repair Of An HVAC Control. It may not solve your problem, but at least you can see what's inside that thing.
  14. Good morning to you! I’m getting ready but we are Zooming in. Janey has a pretty serious eye surgery in the morning so we are keep away from others to keep her healthy. Prayers would be appreciated.
  15. You are right. Here's what the MPC says. I think the "3.8M F/A" means the Dana 44 HD as the next entry is for a "4.5M F/A Dana 50". 80/ F250 - - 4/W/D-3.8M F/A (RH) E0TZ 2K004-E (LH) E0TZ 2K005-E
  16. I'm glad you got that fixed! I'd hate for that to swing open and knock me down. Seriously though, that sounds like a good fix, although pics to prove it would have been nice. But maybe I'll just look at it in 117 days? As I think about it, getting ready for a big trip is about as much fun as the trip itself, so I'll bet you are having fun. Little (big?) improvements like that make all the difference.
  17. I'm not a vehicle collector, although I do have several vehicles & lots of parts. I prefer working on them or driving them to collecting them. And seeing lots of vehicles on lifts implies they rarely, if ever, get driven. One thing I've learned is that vehicles don't keep forever. If not driven things tend to degrade and then, if you do decide to drive it, lots of things fail at once. (I don't have a good "here's why" on that, but it has happened to me more than once.) Anyway, I'm impressed with all of those vehicles! Good for him!
  18. I need the black & white part the vacuum hoses plug into, it's circled in blue. Nothing in the drawing looks like it to me. Maybe 19C827? The black & white/yellow thing is part of the whole control assembly, 19980. 19C827 is the harness, or set of vacuum hoses and the header they are connected to.
  19. So I was able to vacuum the debris off. I used a pick to point out the tab I found, I did not pry it open. I pushed in the tab, but it doesn't stay in. Does anyone have a proper name or part number so I can replace it? I'm not sure which part you are asking about. So I've posted the illustration from our page at Documentation/HVAC/HVAC Systems and then the Integral A/C tab. You can get the base part number from the illustration and then the full part number on the Part Numbers tab.
  20. Nice truck. Might sell for the $12K asking price. But I'm not a fan of it overall. Seems quite "busy" with the hood, the bed rails, the Dodge wheels, etc. Still, if it doesn't have rust and runs and drives properly...
