  1. Yes, life has a way of doing that. Hope things are going ok now. If it starts with a switch to the solenoid/relay then you are close.
  2. Well, this is going to be interesting. All of those parts are in the oven. But, there was a bit of a mistake along the way. I checked the powder I had in the gun and said "Oh good, it is the Silver Lining so I can do the brackets first." But, I also noted that the amount of powder might not be enough for both brackets, so I might have to stop and add more. So I hung the brackets, washed them with brake cleaner and dried them with the heat gun, and started applying the powder. But it sure seemed to be going on thinly and it was hard to get a good layer of it on the parts. I had a thin layer on both of them and finally decided that I needed more in the gun so stopped and added more. However, as I pulled the trigger and a whole lot more powder came out and coated the parts I realized the error of my ways - the first coat was epoxy primer, and the second coat was Silver Lining! I went ahead and gave them a heavy coat of Silver Lining, which will hopefully overlay the epoxy when the baking is done. Here's what they looked like before baking. We shall see if this is a good idea or a disaster.
  3. Gary, you might appreciate the humor in this: Proverbs 14:4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox come abundant harvests Good one, David! I hope Luke 14:5 never comes into play.
  4. I choose to think of it as all the money you've saved me. You found obscure parts at good prices, and I certainly appreciate it.
  5. I was talking to Scott at Parkland last night. He has my new distributor all dialed in and will be shipping it out today. I can't wait to get it. I asked him my vacuum questions, and he said to absolutely use ported vacuum, and absolutely no to any kind of delay or restriction on the vacuum advance. Depending on the weather, I may not have much opportunity to test this thing other than running it in my garage. Stupid winter! Yes, the C2 pump will burb fluid everywhere. Glad Scotty is shipping your dizzy out today. Maybe you can catch a break in the weather and test the truck out soon.
  6. Hope you get to install it, and get to update us on the results.
  7. So the door and ignition tumblers have pins and not wafers. My bad. But having a bunch of spare units would give extra pins. Right?
  8. Should work nicely. But save the wafers. I've read that if you have the right combo of them you can re-key any of the tumblers.
  9. That's an interesting headache rack. I've never seen one with full length rails. And it looks like it would be a good mounting point for some lights.
  10. The reason they gave him was that they were out of stock on the Ox locker.
  11. Yes, and the 351W was introduced to replace the 351M.
  12. Got a text today saying the parts for the axle are on their way. And, a funny story: Told Janey today that since tomorrow looks to be nice I think I'll open the shop door, roll Big Blue back a few feet to give me more room to maneuver the shop crane, and install the engine. Then I got the text saying the parts will soon be in and I realized that there's no front axle under the truck, so rolling it back might be difficult.
  13. Today I got a bit of media blasting done, but not w/o difficulties. I got the brackets blasted and baked in the oven for an hour or more at 400 degrees, as shown below: But they took a long to blast and I realized that the amount of media coming out varied with the position of the gun. So I took a look at the hose and found this. And then when I checked farther down on the hose and found another worn out spot. Off to the hardware store we went and I got a new hose. Then when I got home and took the hose off the gun I found this: With that done I started blasting the other parts. BOY, did the new hose make a huge difference! Maybe 10 times the amount of media. So much that the dust collector couldn't keep up 'cause it was almost plugged. Took the filter out and cleaned it and then the going was much, much faster. Got this stuff done: Hopefully I'll get the things PC'd tomorrow. But the neighbor wants help installing a "bed bar" and some KC lights on his Jimmy. So we will see how much I can get done before his parts come in.
  14. Y'all EFI guys are using the later pump, with the different inlet??? I'd agree that the bracket probably doesn't need the lower bolt. But I want it there as Ford designed it that way. As for water pump, it is the later EFI pump, although I don't know the brand. Came from Scotty, so I'm sure I have the brand in the paperwork. But it does have the larger shaft and flange as Huck's pulley won't fit. Only the one Jim sent from the F450.
  15. No, those are two very different parts. E0TZ 9929038-A is for the upper trim on a regular cab and it is only about 2" long. E1TZ 1329314-AA is the lower trim on a Supercab, which is what you have and this is the part you circled. And it is much longer. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/en/trucks/exterior/body-mouldings/e1tz-1329314-aa-molding-rh-rear-lower-cab-corn https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-OEM-Ford-1981-1985-Truck-Super-Cab-Moulding-1982-1983-1984-F150-F250-F350-/123604563169 David - Good job! Christian - I believe both of these are the right part. But you need to confirm that before buying.
  16. You want ME to document something? Like I might NOT? Seriously though, I will be showing how I put a Ford box in Big Blue and again how one goes in Dad's truck. There will be, I think, two aspects to that. One is how the EFI uses the box. But the other is how to integrate one into a Bullnose truck, with or without EFI.

  18. I seem to have a bust in the 1985 Literature section as the link to the 1985 Explorer Program brochure actually takes you to a Bronco brochure. I'll see what I can figure out later.
  19. Neat little box. Crimp looks good, but I like crimped and soldered even better. You need your own thread to capture this project. There will be others that want to follow your lead. Not that posting here is bad, but having it all in one place will be a bigger help to them.
  20. I have three AC/PS brackets: The one you sent from the F450 and it has not been broken; The one from Huck and it is broken; and one from I don't know where and it has been broken but is repaired. Bill - Did you send me one? Was I supposed to send it back after PC'ing it?
  21. I've never seen pre-attached masters and boosters. I've only seen individual masters and then boosters. Sorry.
  22. Scott - You do amazing work! It is so well done.
  23. 80/87 F-U100/350 — integral A/C or Hi-Low vent E0TZ 18471—C Upper
  24. You sure found a bunch of problems! But they were all either causing issues now or soon would be. Well done! Now, on to the van?
