  1. I agree the rod is probably too long. As the brakes warm up they expand and drag, getting warmer and larger. On the mileage, maybe the choke isn’t coming off quickly enough? That will kill mileage on short trips. As for the duck bill, I wouldn’t think water would come in there. But maybe?
  2. We aren't looking for sponsors since it isn't all that expensive. There is just the annual Weebly contract & the URL contracts. All up maybe I spend $150/year. So I appreciate it, but it isn't needed. Having said that, if they have a website we could link to it somewhere. What services do they provide? Where are they?
  3. Scott - We don’t have that on the site, but I’d love to have it. Shaun is about to send me stuff to scan so I could easily add that to the mix. Send it on if you want and I’ll scan and return it.
  4. Condensation was the problem I had with one. I rusted a lot of things before I figured out what was happening.
  5. Well, not if he has three hands: one to use the pry bar; one for the ratchet on the bolt; one for the Wrench on the nut.
  6. I sorta kinda understand how you are planning to do the double-din rack. But you lost me on the bezel. So I'll await the pics and explanations since it'll be some time before I get to a point where I might want to do do this. IOW, that won't be part of "transformation" on BB, and can come in a later "upgrade" phase. On your wifi antenna, you could run it down the top of the transmission tunnel under the carpet. Would work great for in the cab, but maybe not for connecting to your home wifi.
  7. Check out the new page: Documentation/Electrical/Lighting/Lighting Specs & Calculations. But that's really just a draft. We can change it as desired.
  8. Definitely an easier approach, and gets all the bits and pieces you may miss. What I like about where Gary is going, if he feels up to it, is it could evolve to where you could basically do a build on paper combining standard and LED bulbs to see how much power you need, say to size an alternator or something. Granted, going for the largest you can fit generally solves that problem without playing around. What I had in mind was something like this, which started life as a page from the 1981 owner's manual. So, as I fill in the wattage behind the spreadsheet will automagically have the calcs. Then I add it to the above-mentioned page, and y'all can play.
  9. So, what about I create an interactive spreadsheet and put it on a page under Documentation/Electrical/Lighting? I could put in the wattage of the tungsten bulbs and have a column for whatever bulbs you want to put in, and there will be auto-summed totals at the bottom.
  10. You are now on the map. By the way, you should consider a signature.
  11. Welcome! Glad you joined. Very nice truck, and a wonderful story. You'll have to start a thread on it in the main section and tell us all about it. Plus, let us know how you like the EFI system. And pics of the pulley system, engine, et al. Where's home? I ask because we have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and I'd be happy to add you if you'd like. We don't put addresses, but just your town/city.
  12. Looks great, Scott. Interesting that you can get the antenna awa as the light in there. Should work perfectly. But I am concerned about the other antenna's ability to function if in the roof. Hope it works as well. I'm curious to see what head unit you are using and how it works as I may be in the market for an upgraded one for BB some day. But, I really want a backup camera, so....
  13. Scott - That’s ingenious! Should work very well. 👍
  14. I don’t know why one would be better than the other. Either would use a single mass air flow meter so it shouldn’t make a difference.
  15. Do you use that instead of plastic loom? Didn’t we have a how-to on doing wire harnii recently?
  16. Good idea! I know what you are talking about, and it will be a spaghetti monster.
  17. Today I ticked the box in the To-Do list that says the engine is DONE! Now it is time to turn to the electrical system. But I think I'll take a break for a bit.
  18. Good info, Bill. Thanks. I can use that when the time comes.
