Denis Carpenter sells this same shaft for the very early Bulls.

'87-91 is a direct fit, and includes both an improved upper U-joint, and vulcanized rag joint.  They're very common & affordable in JYs.

I haven't bought one in decades.  I swapped early-on; when my '83 was still mostly '83.  Probably in Louisiana or Texas in the late 90s.  Because that style never wears out, I never needed another.  Now, I'm using the '92-up column & its matching intermediate shaft.  But this says $10-15:

There is only one truck of the 1987-1991 era at the local pick N pull, and that is a 1991 F350. I did take a look at the steering shaft on one trip, but it looked like the bolt was upside-down where the shaft clamps on to the steering box input shaft. However, the wheels were straight...

I must look at it again next trip, but when I did take a glance at it last time I didn't look like it was going to be easy to remove...

Should be just as straight forward as the 1980-1986 shaft, ya?
