Welcome!  Glad you joined.

And glad you are keeping your father's truck alive.

Where's home?  I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and can add you with a city/state or zip.

Welcome to the forum

Have you looked at the harness you are after and where it plugs in to the rest of the trucks systems?
IIRC there is no engine harness as it is also part of the in cab dash harness.

I think you have a charging / ALT harness and maybe the IGN but the rest is the main harness.

You then have a harness that plugs into the main one under the brake booster and runs along the frame to the rear.
You have a transmission harness that goes between the frame & trans.
Then you have the tail light harness.

Add on harness to the main is radio speaker harness & AC harness.

Also know with the main harness you have v8 or six and single or dual tanks.
Same goes for the frame harness, single or dual tanks.
Think that covers all of them but has been a few years since I had worked on this on my 81 F100
