Yeah I think if you pull on them it will distort them.

Maybe some strong string or wire and floss it off.

I believe you can find the molding pre made and by the foot that you cut yourself.

Any idea if the pre-made stuff is a factory exact match? I don't want something that looks cheap or incorrect. I've thought about just not putting it back on....like my paint guy suggested, but I kinda like the factory look.

I think it’s close. I’ve never bought it. Maybe someone has.

Here’s what LMC has.

Dane, that's perfect actually. It's precut and has the correct end treatments. I'll just pull this old stuff off and get new later if I damage the old stuff.

Aight....someone school me on trailer brake controllers and the factory wiring harness. Is there a factory trailer brake harness plug under the dash, or will an entire harness need to be purchased? I just sold both of my non brake axle trailers, and am purchasing a 14,000lbs trailer to haul my 5500lb tractor around on. A 7k car hauler seems to me to be pushing the trailer rating if I load a 5500lb tractor. That only leaves 1500lbs for the weight of the trailer. So I'm going bigger trailer to be safe. I cannot find any 10k-12k trailers around here.

So....I have a gooseneck hitch, but I need it to be a bumper pull, because I'll be pulling it with my Loadstar 1600 as well.

I've got a deal with a local tree service company, and I'll be hauling in a lot of firewood and mill logs this next year.

In the Bullnose era the trailer brake wiring was an option, as shown below.

And if you have it then you have C1101 under the dash, as shown below.  You can see where I wired my Tekonsha 90195 P3 controller in,  It works really well and I like it.

Thanks Gary, I'll get all 15 layers of clothes on and go see what I have. Thanks!

Will there be an additional plug near the rear bumper to splice in a 7 pin connector?

Good luck!

As for in back, C1110 is said to be "under left hand side of rear crossmember".

Looks like I got it. This tag was on the wire harness going to the relay....but as I touched it, it fell off. Lol.

So....I guess all I need is a brake controller of my choice, a female 7pin connector and bracket....and then just figure out how to wire up both of those components.

Well, I finally got my trailer parts for the 7pin conversion. Going to work on that tomorrow night.

I have to have it done then. My buddy Matt who I gave that old red truck to is done with it. He is giving it back. So, sense that's the truck that me and Holly rode to the hospital in for her to give birth to Levi, and today is his 10th birthday, we are going to fix it up for him over the next six years. Plenty of time to tinker on it. Going to go pick it up on the new trailer Saturday morning.

Alright, so I wasn't able to get the trailer brakes hooked up. I did get the 7 pin installed, and trailer brake wired in. There was not a connector for the factory trailer brake wiring running all the way back. The wiring stopped just above the axle. I found them dangling there, with factory labels/tags labeling them "trailer brake". I just didn't have any extra wiring laying around to extend them.

Also, previous owner really butchered the 4pin trailer harness at the back. Once I get the truck back from paint, I'm going to decrease the underside and pull the rear harness out, solder in some more appropriate lengths of wire, get rid of all the butt connections and those blue wire tap crimp connectors. It's a mess.

But anyway....going to get the F250 in the garage this morning, and start stripping her down for paint.

Here are more shots at Levi's old project truck.

Today I started stripping down the F250.

All that is left to do is raise the bed up onto some 4x4 blocks, remove back window, and figure out those side supercab window bezels. Anyone know how those come off?
