3.8 had enough power for more situations, even a light duty, easy used truck. The engine would run and run . . BUT . it had head gasket problems. If you had a 3.8, it wasn't if, it was when are you replacing head gaskets. And that isn't meant to be a joke. It was automatic.

Cool...factory aluminum heads and intake. Betcha it was a light little bugger.

Did it use the SBF bellhousing pattern or did it have it's own unique pattern?
