Finally a bullnose showed up into my junkyard today

Danny G
What do I need to be scrapping other than the interior trim I'm after. It's rough but thinking I can redo it.

Also what's this button on the column?

Nice! What I can see from the door panel on the pass side, it looks pretty good.

That button is the (from manual):

Ignition Key Release Button
(Manual Transmission) - Push ignition key release button to move the ignition lock cylinder to LOCK (to remove the key) or to ACC (Accessory)

The a pillar trim is in pretty decent shape there's an invisible crack in the one but a little bit of a pair of pair on the back side you'll never know what's there the beat pillar trim is pretty rough but it could be sanded down and retextured and repainted

Quite the pile and that screwdriver looks very handy. Haven't seen that kind of ratcheting T handle design.

Another thing I like to grab are connectors if they don't look too brittle. Cut a few inches of wire along with it and that gives you a second chance if you are ever working on yours and the latching tabs break. Doesn't really help the next jy guy that might be looking for a harness though...

Seat belts [which pass through the seat] and possibly the windshield wash / coolant reservoir. If the starter solenoid/relay is a Motorcraft, get it for a spare.

No, they can be replaced. Still, like you and David both said - good thing to grab. Better to do it sooner than later as with no hood (or even with one it's left up in most jy), they don't survive long in the sun.

Re: Finally a bullnose showed up into my junkyard today

I went to look for a turn signal lever for my car while the reservoir was draining and on the way back I forgot to snatch it off so I'll have to go back tomorrow and do it again for the entire interior trim that I pulled off the bezels the gauges glove box vacuum canister car jack and hardware the slide liver cable for my seat and a couple little vacuum cylinders and other things it was about 140 out the door at this junkyard the junk yards I'm used to don't actually charge you for anything plastic on the vehicle this one never used to either because they get no scrap value out of it.

But I figured I could easily sell the gauges and some other stuff out of that pile that I don't actually need or that's going to replace what's on my truck currently and definitely make back 140 bucks

Had that whole thing apart in about 45 minutes with that tool you can get them at harbor freight the t-handle actually separates the extension part... it's telescopic but can come completely out for tighter spaces. I leave it in a set of wrenches in my car just in case anything pops up in the junkyard because the junkyard is about 3 minutes from my job

with school and everything else has been going on in life I haven't had time to wrench on my truck and going to this junkyard and pulling this thing apart has been the funnest happiest time I've had in months even though it was only about an hour

I didn't catch this post sorry. I'm going back tomorrow for the reservoir.

I didn't see a starter contactor or anything else like that worthwhile there was a lot of weird wiring that was done it was actually solid core in there tied I to some places. Looked like it was fixed in a Home Depot parking lot.

They are replaceable, but the old ones can be a real bear to remove (at least up here in the land of rust). The steel shell on the motor rusts and swells up inside the plastic hole, which might as well weld them in place...lol. Those 1986 washer/coolant reservoirs are nice though if you have an older truck.

Now...I'm no expert on the 300/6 trucks, but I thought I read that the AC brackets are difficult to find for these engines? Might be worth removing.

Another desirable item would be the pedal assembly with the hydraulic clutch. People looking for those fairly often too.

The plastic glovebox liners are nice for replacing the old cardboard ones.

Man if I was down south I'd be grabbing so many parts off these trucks I'd have to rent a warehouse just to store it all...lol.

What condition is the battery tray and the bracket below it where the charcoal cannister mounts? Those things rust away and fall apart up here.

That button is the (from manual):

Ignition Key Release Button
(Manual Transmission) - Push ignition key release button to move the ignition lock cylinder to LOCK (to remove the key) or to ACC (Accessory)
----

My grandfathers 85 still has it but it was removed by a PO on my 80.

The entire front clip is worth $500-800 up north as a whole and individually parted you could probably get a grand for it. The bed, especially if it's a short box would sell for easily $1000-$1500.

Re: Finally a bullnose showed up into my junkyard today

Danny G
This is only the second bullnose I have seen in our junkyard in 3 years. I don't need all of this but need to sell some of it to cover my costs.

There is a bar that clips in above the radiator. I don't have this in mine. What is it for? Jack extension?

We're metal threshold plates oem?

I want to grab the sliding window. Latch is broken but should be replaceable. Other than suction grips... What do I need to do this?

I have grabbed:
-AC pillar trim
- B- pillar trim
-Headliner trim(going to retro this into my truck)
-Instrument Bezel
-Radio Bezel
-Instrument Cluster
-metal Ashtray
-glove box door
-glove box liner
-seat slide wire
-vacuum Canister
-Bottle Jack(works)
-tire Iron
-mounting parts for iron and jack
-Fluids Reservoir (left by accident)
-Various Vacuum valves
-plastic cover for vacuum switches

Want to grab
-metal windshield trim
-metal grill trim
-headlight doors
-Sliding rear window
-window crank handles
-interior door handles
-AC bracket
-double check charcoal canister mount
-oil dipstick(because why not)
-metal bar above radiator

Something to keep in mind is that the factory sliding rear windows in the 1995-1996 trucks is a nice upgrade. They have the better latch and I thought they opened wider (somebody can correct me on this). They're easy to come by here as the junkyards are full of the aero nose 1992-1996 trucks.

Metal thresholds were standard.

The "bar" is surely the jack handle and it attaches to two spring clips.  The handle goes on the driver's side down by the headlight.  And that reminds me - I've not added that to Big Blue!

Oh yes, I forgot.  IIRC, the rear window comes out by pulling the center, lock piece, from the rear and pushing it in.  That is an insert into the weatherstripping and pushes it out so it stays in place.
