Dave - Jonathan is a real stand-up guy. He's crashing to get ready for his own vacation and yet spent the time to get your stuff and ship it to you. He's a real brother.

Your gauges came out good. However, depending on what color bulbs you put in I'm not sure I'd leave the filters in. What are your plans?

Stand up guy is an under statement.

Again thank you Jonathan.

Just have to figure how the lines get run to what vacuum motors when I get to that point.

Gary, Thanks on the gauge looks.

At this time I am going with the stock 194 bulbs. As said the filters were in great shape, no frosting at all on them and why I left them.

Unlike the ones that came out of my trucks cluster. They were dried out, turning white and some just fell apart as I was removing them from the cluster.

If the ones I left in look like the truck was kept in a garage & out of heat and if they were even a little bad they would of been pulled.

Now if I feel I don't get the light needed to see the gauges I will pull them and replace the bulbs with 194B (B=blue) as I seen posted. I think going with LEDs they will be too bright and with out work (resistor that you do) or special LED bulbs I would not be able to dim them, time will tell.

Dave ----

ps: just got thinking of the HVAC panel lighting. I think 1 of the panels has the light need to see what that is like.

While we went to great lengths to make David's LED's dim, in the end it wasn't worth it and he usually runs them on full from what he said. So, when I did the conversion on Big Blue I didn't bother and I like them on full.

And you went with the blue ones also?

With the ones you went with do you have to watch how they are installed +/- so they will work?

When I did LED's on my AMC Javelin they could only go in 1 way to work so I bench tested the cluster and good thing as I had a few that did not work and had to be turned 180*.

Did you go with Super Bright's LED's? Have a part number?

May get them to have on hand if/when I change them out.

I used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y1CFAB2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. And they do have to be oriented correctly or they won't work.

But, to tell the truth, if I had it to do over again I might go with white LED's. The blue is a bit much and I'd like to see if the white is easier to read at night.

For my son's truck, the cloudy blue filters were removed and 194B bulbs installed. It turned out nicely and is easily seen at night. I believe it accomplishes what Ford wanted to do with the blue filters.

Previously, I have mentioned that I found a dash in a medium duty truck which has crystal clear [non cloudy] light green filters. I showed them to some members at this year's OK GTG. If anyone wants to try something different, they are yours just for the postage. And, if you plan to attend next year's OK GTG, bring me an old license plate [wall art] and I will be happy! :nabble_anim_jump:

Hey guys it is I, the glorious Smokenchoken in all my annoying overall wearing goodness... update on projects some might know and others might enjoy sadly no Bullnoses but the 7deuce is alive and well and just became my DD again for reasons I'll explain later... 7deuce is my 72 Ranger xlt long bed black and chrome 390 10 to 1 compression C6ae-r heads ported and polished with oversize valves and hardened valve seats with edelbrock performer intake ported to match, C6, 2.75 gears and 35s... Last week I finished Red Dawg my 78 Ranger longbed from her crazy upgrade, the 400 ish hp 460 is out and mothballed away forfuture use and in its place a 429 that dyno'd at 647 hp when it was built, C6, 2.75 gears and a set of 28x15x15w MT Slicks that I have yet to set my times with but it's quite quick ;) ... and then my most recent addition to my stable a 93 ranger shortbed with a 67 352 FE and a 65 3 speed toploader and currently trying a 205 divorced transfer case reversed as an overdrive unit along with the 8.8 with 4.10s it gives it the equivalent of 2.09 gears and with its 295-50-15s it gives a nice 1700 rpm for 65mph... much left to be finished but that's how projects go... the 352 used to get 16+ mpg Religiously in a 67 F100 with a c6 3.00 gears and 33s so my first goal is 20 mpg and I think the 1000 lb loss and increased factory aerodynamics alone will get it close if my gears work out as planned
