I have been meaning to post something here since I joined the forum. We purchased my truck last August from the original owner. It was one of his farm trucks and has 139k miles on it. She has been painted recently and the colors seem close to original. She has some minor rust (hood, doors, floor pans) and some major rust around the inside edges of the bed. Her tailgate rusted out and was replaced with a 5th wheel gate. her original rear bumper was replaced with a monster piece of steel.

My husband and I have tackled a few larger projects so far. First, I got a used carburetor and rebuilt it -- the one it came with was a junk refurb that as undersized. We also replaced the harmonic balancer. We upgraded the steering -- new lower column, new lower bearing, new gear box and a Lee power steering pump. We have rebuilt the rear brakes, replaced the inner and outer rear hub bearings, and replaced the emergency brakes.

We are currently working on a new alternator and replacing the factory ignition wiring.

This week we installed nerf bars. Here are before and after pictures:

Susan looks very good!

Congrats!

How do you like the Lee?

Big Brother got one and I love it!

I love the Lee. The price was more than the OEM replacement but the install was the same. The noise is basically non-existent. She turns so much smoother. I can't say enough good things about it.

And it helps my short body get in easier!

Gary was going to put a grab handle from a 600 & up series truck on the B pillar of Big Blue for Janey IIRC.

I actually had one at the shop that had been wrecked but I don't think he wanted it.

Janey doesn't think a grab handle on the B-pillar would work for her. It would tend to turn her left/aft and she wants to be turning right/fore to be able to slide in.

I guess that's the difference between needing a hand up to stand on the gas tank and step in, or using my handle to balance on a little Nerf bar
