Pictures of flaresides?

I've been keeping an eye out for a flareside bed to swap onto one of my trucks for a couple of years now. The only ones I've found have either been in terrible shape or cost as much as an entire truck. I've ran across some beds from the 50s, and recall that the 50s beds were used on the 70s flaresides. Does anyone have any pictures of a what a bullnose with a 50s bed looks like?

I would say to be patient and wait for a correct 1980-1986 Flareside bed. They do pop up for sale. Are you a member of the Bullnose Flaresides only group on FB?

Somebody just posted one the other day.

Even if you find a rusted out bed, you can copy it and build a new one. I've built a couple of them.

You could also look for a 1992-1996 Flareside bed. They're not a perfect match obviously, but they do look better on a Bullnose than the 1979 and older beds (in my opinion at least).

Where are you located?

I'm in central Mississippi. I'm not a member of that facebook group.

I feel like the 90s flareside would look worse since the wheel well openings are more circular. Do you have a picture of a bullnose with a 90s or pre-1980s flareside bed on it?

Thanks

I only really have pictures of the 80's and 90's trucks, but neither with the beds reversed.

I just looked on the FB group and the one that was listed last week is sold already. It was $250, and at that price certainly wouldn't last long. It was in Harper, KS. I drove that far to buy a Flareside bed once haha.

I'm just searching here for something to do, I'm sure you've found these...

I've talked with the owner of the $500 truck about a year ago. I'd be surprised if it's still around. But that's another one that the lack of a tailgate scared me off. I haven't come across any tailgates for sale.

I've seen the ad for that parts truck. It is a little far but is tempting, but as I already have 3 non-running projects in my back yard (and 3 extra trucks that do run) I am trying to avoid another one to keep things at home happy. I'd likely buy that $500 bed if it were closer and the fenders really were in good shape.

Are all the bullnose flareside fenders fiberglass? I haven't seen any metal ones.

You can get new tail gates, front panel, the front & rear sills, the cross members, metal strips and wood kits and blocks.

The only things you cant get are the bed sides and the fenders.

Yes all 80 to 86 flare side fenders are fiber glass so can be fixed using the same.

BTW I used a style side long bed floor and bolted my bed sides, after I fixed them, to the metal ribbed floor. I also had to fix the glass fenders too.

Still haven’t seen an 80s truck with an earlier flareside bed, but here’s a local 80s truck with the 90s bed on it.

Now that I have a 1950s/1960s flareside truck bed trailer, I can see that it’ll be too narrow to fit the bullnose well. It would need to have the front panel stretched and a wider tailgate to get the bedsides pushed out far enough. I do still think the wheel well opening wouldn’t look terrible with the bullnose.
