  1. Absolutely. It'll take a couple weeks, but I'll be showing it off when it arrives.
  2. Probably not very interesting for you southern guys, but I think this is a great idea! I use Fluid Film product all the time and keep cans of it at home and at work. I was not aware of this black colored version until I saw it applied on a Jeep CJ on an IG page that I follow. https://www.fluid-film.com/products/fluid-film-black-aerosol-non-aerosol/
  3. I checked FTE for the heck of it, and he hadn't posted on there since June. I checked the member map, and there's not really anybody even close to him geographically that could swing by and see if the truck is in the driveway. Strange for him to not be on here for over a week.
  4. Yup. I put a thin layer of RTV on mine as well, enough that when the pump was tightened in place it just barely squishes out around the edges.
  5. Oh...just a mini lottery where 50% goes to the winner and 50% goes to the charity or society of choice. They are REALLY common here...I guess I never realized that they weren’t common elsewhere.
  6. Gary, Personally, I think that is just a coincidence. Troy's truck came in second in overall votes-per-truck and he is exactly half way on the list. I thought he was going to win two classes there for a while. His truck is gorgeous after all. If there was a simple way to do it Gary, it would be nice if you could select the class(es) you wanted to enter your truck in. The Ugliest Truck class comes to mind...at least if you entered it on purpose, you wouldn't be too surprised if people agreed with you. I had a wee bit of trouble with that one and actually left it a day or two until the very end. There are some guys on here with some really REALLY nice trucks. I see hideously ugly ones on Facebook all the time, but I must say, there are a lot of nice trucks in this Garagemahal crowd. There were some difficult choices. Have you ever done a 50/50 draw Gary? I notice a lot of the local car shows do this, and donate it to a charity of some sort. I think the vendor prizes/gifts that were donated are outstanding.
  7. Gary, Not sure what to say, but I think it's safe to say that we all appreciate all of the work that you put into this (and the day to day Non-truck show content). For that I can say on behalf of the rest of the Bullnose geeks, a tip of the hat to you, Gary! And thanks to all that voted as well.
  8. Gentlemen, Would anybody happen to know the thread size/pitch of the stud in top of the 4x4 beams where the coil spring seats are attached? I need to make sure I have a couple of these hex nuts on hand, and curious what size they are.
  9. I wouldn’t take that vote too seriously. There are a few nominations for ugly truck there that are off base. Probably pranks.
  10. I took in a last minute car show today about 60 miles away. And, by last minute, I mean that I only decided at 8pm last night that I was going to go, so I also just started cleaning my truck at 8pm last night...lol. Truth be told, I saw a post on FB last night where another Flareside owner posted a pic and told everybody to get their trucks out this weekend, so I suddenly felt compelled...or obligated?...to go...lol. In any case, it was fun, and I'm glad that I did. The weather was fantastic...and I even got a bit of a sunburn on my face from sitting around in my lawn chair. Couple other Bullnoses spotted there as well. A two tone brown '85, and a blue '81. The Bullnose is kind of stuck in a weird classic area. I overhear people all the time saying that they don't like the 80's and 90's stuff and don't consider them classics...like the 70's stuff and older. Is it because they're "new" classics?...Or is it part of a bigger thing where somebody just hates 80's music, 80's style, and 80's vehicles?>..lol. I guess what I'm getting at is that people seem to love 'em or walk right by 'em. Very little in between, ya know? I'll watch 50 people walk by without even noticing it....and then one or two guys will show up and be all over it, asking a thousand questions, etc. The middle people...once in a while someone will casually say "nice truck", but they barely even know what decade it's from. It seems like the people that love Bullnoses really love them, and everybody else doesn't even notice them. Anyway, I had a great day, and talked to some lovely Ford fanatics. I sure is fun getting right into the nitty gritty details, or to have a conversation with somebody remembering a similar truck from 35 years ago. One older fella stopped by today and loved the truck. He said he had taken an identical one for a test drive in 1984, and although he didn't buy it, he always wished that he had. Really fun talking to those guys.
  11. Maybe in the future have it set up so that if you enter a vehicle then you must also vote in every class? Maybe that was in the instructions and I missed it anyway... You know, if you don't vote, then you also cannot win. Isn't there a saying like that about politics...if you don't vote then you don't get to complain about the outcome?...lol.
  12. Looks great. Love the ride height and tires. What is the wheel and tire combo?
  13. Shaun, Have you tried Car-Part.com? I just did and there seems to be lots of them showing up in Florida for $35 bucks. The pic below shows a bunch of 4x2 ones, but there's 4 pages of them and lots of 4x4 parts. What trans are you using?
  14. I submitted votes for all! It was fun reading through all of them and seeing the pics. Some of them are really difficult to choose!!
  15. I sure would love to get there in person for one of your shows/gatherings Gary. Even though it's a 2200 mile journey one way, I'd love to tackle it some day. We did a North American coast to coast road trip back in 2011, and we managed to average 600 miles a day for 14 days straight. Some were longer, and some shorter, but 600 miles was the average....and that was on motorcycles. My old Bull is mechanically up to the trip, but I'd definitely need cruise control.,..er...ahem..."Speed Control", but that's easy enough to do. Still...as much as I love my old truck, it's more of a love where I like to just sit back and look at it, and hear it rumble when I drive it. Spending two weeks and 4500 miles in it I'm still not 100% sure about...lol. 10 years ago I would have done it without even thinking about it. In any case, last time I looked, flights were cheap, and I could always rent an F-series to drive there from the closest airport...lol. That is, when/if I'm allowed into the USA again...word on the street is that it's going to be a while.
  16. Well, what I'm saying is that is the way Ford did it. Vacuum goes through the thermostatic valve, and then through the cold weather modulator. That's how I have mine plumbed in currently. This picture below is a little grainy, but you'll get the idea... PS: On the Green CWM, I had the notes saved below... Green CWM Cold Weather Modulator Opens at 76 degrees F and closes at 50F. I studied all of this stuff a couple years ago, and now I can't remember any of it...lol.
  17. On my original 1984 air cleaner housing, the thermostatic valve was in the air cleaner cover. On the Mustang air cleaner is in the base of the housing (less space under the hood, right?). Then there are two plastic ones in the side of the air cleaner...one white, one green...both my 1984 truck air cleaner had these, and my 1984 Mustang 5.0L had them too. If I recall correctly, the green one is the CWM (Cold weather modulator) that operates the valves in the snorkels, and the white ones operated something else all together not related to the snorkels at all (I removed the white one, and left the green one intact). My 302 is 100% emissions delete, so I don't think there was anything to connect the white valve to.
  18. Yes, good point...I must check if it is there. I've only seen them at the top of the firewall and the fronts of the beds, but the front of the bed is long gone from this truck...so I'll check the firewall and see if it shows 3D and 3B...
  19. Cool! Thanks Shaun. Saved in my "Color" file with the 1980 F150 project folder...lol.
