  1. Just wanted to follow-up on this quickly. I got the old connectors swapped over to the new Grote tail lights, and they work fantastic! They're much brighter than the old originals. Not sure how well you can see it in this picture below, but I painted over the clear lens on the bottom of the LH tail light. The gloss black matched up perfectly, and well...it's on the bottom anyway, so nobody will ever really see it. And, although I wasn't originally planning to run a dedicated ground wire, I ended up doing so. I tried to hide it as well as I could, but it's still visible for anybody that went poking around. I haven't decided yet where I'm going to connect the other end, but I'll get it sorted out this weekend when I get chance to work on it again. Anyway, that's all. These are a cheap solution for anybody wanting or needing to replace the originals.
  2. Where I live I don't think they'd be any bigger than 15-20 lbs, but I haven't hand my hands on one either. The main issue with them is that they're slow, like a sloth...lol. I see them on the roads ALL the time...and they get hit a lot here. Mostly them, raccoons, and deer for us, and something I've seen a couple times recently is dead beavers on the road. Over in Newfoundland they have a real problem with moose on the roads. I've seen them cross the road in front of me, but I've never hit one. They're like hitting a horse. Where's Vinny?...I'm sure he has some stories. I took this pic below on a bike trip back in 2011. In any case Jon, glad you're OK and that the truck is still mobile even if it is dented up. Hopefully you can find some cost effective AZ parts to slap on there.
  3. The truck is 2wd though, correct? I'm not sure what comes into play with the lift kit, but with an '85 2wd, the main alignment adjustments are made via adjustable bushings that the upper balljoints are mounted in. I'm assuming that is where the problem is, and not the toe-in... Did that lift include new radius arms as well?
  4. Oddly, new battery trays are available...aftermarket of course. I have one in my truck. The factory design was really awful when you consider what road salt does to sheetmetal. They're available from LMC for sure, and I think I've seen 'em on Rock Auto and Ebay as well. I bought the whole works from LMC with the hold down "J" bolts and nuts, and the plastic brace across the top of the battery. I believe they even sell the little triangle bracket that attaches to the core support, although that one is more prone to getting removed and lost as opposed to rusting away.
  5. Sorry to hear about the bang up Jonathan, that sucks for sure. I too feel bad for the animal...I hit a weasel the other day and felt bad enough about that little guy. People often hit deer around here, but I never have. Porcupines are REALLY common too, and they're like hitting a cinder block in the road, but I haven't hit one of those guys in a long long time. Hard to tell from the picture, but is that passenger side rocker panel still straight and undamaged? If yes, that's good news at least. I'm not much help on the bumper discussion, but I'd take an Arizona truck full of dents over one of the ones full of rust holes up here.
  6. Haha...maybe, I'll have a look this weekend;).
  7. It was added too late and had been poorly installed imho. I had the steering column out as well as the brake booster and clutch master, so I figured it was a good time to install the big brace and hopefully never touch it again;).
  8. That's a decent price. I bought mine from Terrapin, and it's more expensive. I didn't know about the Bronco Graveyard piece at the time. http://www.terrapinmfg.com/firewall%20fix.htm My truck had the small brace installed previously.
  9. Hey Emunder, One of the experts on here will have to confirm, but I'm guessing what you have is a dealer installed AC system? There is a certification label on the door frame on the driver's side of the cab, very close to where the door striker is. Is it still in good condition and readable? This will tell us all of the basic build details of the truck...if you haven't figured it all out yet. PS: Something else you might want to read up on when you get bored is the cab reinforcement brace for the clutch master cylinder. There was a recall on this back in the old days since the hydraulic masters caused a crack on the firewall. It's certainly nothing to panic about, but if you're keeping the truck it's something worth looking into.
  10. We love pictures! It's a great looking truck. You'll get the bugs worked out of it, that's no big deal.
  11. Looks to be a Canadian model...has a Km/hr speedo and a "B3" DSO code... Probably why it has no A/C...lol.
  12. Oh boy...$75 is pretty spendy for that part, NOS or not... I must have 4 of these myself and would very gladly take $75 USD for one...lol.
  13. No sir, but I've saved it for future viewing. I'm still waiting to see how much it's going to cost to paint the rest of the truck before I commit to luxurious options like sliding rear windows...lol.
  14. David, Is the air damn plastic? I see it is shown in the Bumper parts illustration. Is it just like a 1" x 1" L shape, 3-4 feet long and attached to the bottom of the bumper with rivets?
  15. The ad states the truck has a documented 20k miles, and that it's rust free...but it's not dent free...lol. Still, love seeing these old things with such low mileage. https://nh.craigslist.org/cto/d/sunapee-1985-ford-150/6926417560.html I like that black interior as well. I don't see that often.
  16. Only 18 hrs left as of 5am... Looks to be pretty close to you Jim... As mentioned in the auction, it's pretty clear that this thing was kept indoors and not driven in the winter/salt, etc. Looks to be in very nice condition. With 61k original miles an a 300/6 three pedal truck...I'd love to have it myself. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293141109776 Question for the experts: What is that little chin spoiler on there? Was that a factory Bullnose item?...Must go hunting on Ebay...David if you ever run across one of these...
  17. Dealer AC vents were in the dash too weren't they?
  18. Yeah, I use a company in Calais, Maine that will receive orders for a small fee. I'm about 300 miles from the border, but I travel close by there with work once or twice a month. It works well if I'm not in a rush for the item(s). Some Ebay sellers are set up with the Global Shipping Program which is really convenient. In this case, the US seller ships to a US address and then it gets transferred over to Canada Post. It's a seamless process, but not all sellers are set up to use it.
  19. A quick Google search brought up this page below... https://m.roadkillcustoms.com/decode-ford-part-numbers/ According to it, "F" indicates "Foreign / Trans Am Racing". I'll have to leave this one to the FoMoCo part number experts;). At the end of the day, the lamp DOES look correct for the Flareside. Nice find David. A tip of the hat to you sir.
  20. See how much the shipping costs are for me?>..lol. Let me guess, free shipping within the US?
  21. Actually, the 3rd digit "F" indicates that it is NOT for a Bullnose, right?...Should be a "T" for a pickup, no? Edit: And would the "L/C Lamp" be Luggage Compartment Lamp?
  22. Looks the same I think?>..Maybe Gary or somebody can confirm the part number? Color doesn't really matter.
  23. In other news: Bastille Day was upon us! And French protesters were burning down the porta potties. This takes me back to the '70's and the world GP of motocross in Unidilla, NY. The old fiberglass 'facilities' would get lit up every year leaving thousands of us with no place to 40:1 prefix race fuel was very effective! DeCoster, Lackey,e Mikkola, et al didn't seem to be phased by this, and really put on a good show! Times have changed, times have really changed.....
