  1. Yes, that and the fact that there were multiple plants building these trucks in at least two different countries;). What I find on the Canadian built trucks up here may not always be 100% indicative of what came out of the various plants in the USA. I know that generally they are all the same, but there will be little quirks and differences here and there for sure. The ones I've found on the later 1994-1996 trucks have crisp 7/16" threads in them. Enough so that a regular bolt threads into them nicely. Otherwise they are identical in every respect. A lot of things can change over the years too, so it is possible that I've come across a batch of trucks that all had had their door strikers replaced? Who the heck knows.
  2. Right. So the first couple years of the striker with the wrap around guard was like the Bullnose striker in that the bolt could not be removed. Then a the newer version was introduced in 1989, and it also became the replacement for all previous versions. At least that is how I understand that. Shaun, did you ever check the 1990 strikers to see if the bolt threads out of the guard?
  3. Oh, I didn't see this until after I already replied to your other thread. Thanks for sharing the pics, that's great!
  4. Well that's interesting. I don't believe I've seen this style before. Is this one of the rarer styles?
  5. Yes, cool thread! I love this stuff. I have been saving some pictures of the dealer AC parts myself. Scott, I am looking for a nice set of AC vents for the passenger side if you ever come across a set at the junkyard that are easy to remove. I'm not really fussy on which ones they are, as long as they clean up OK. I've kinda zeroed in on dealer AC vents so that I don't have to change out my whole dash to a factory AC dash (in which case I'd also have to find a whole AC dash...lol). Anyway...if you come across any I'd be happy to buy them. I just received my grey weave instrument bezel with factory AC this week. I had been looking for one for about a year and finally decided to grab this one on Ebay.
  6. There appears to be 3 different striker assemblies. There are the Bullnose ones...just the striker bolt with a captive washer, from 1980-1986, although the changeover date/time may vary. 1987 got the striker post with the wrap around steel guard, and it was also captive, just like the washer on the Bullnose. You cannot remove the striker bolt without damaging the threads. At some point after 1987, they changed the guard from being captive on the striker bolt to being threaded, and then added a thin plastic washer behind the guard. I don't know when this change took place, I just assumed it was 1992 with the body style change. If you look at the aftermarket striker on JBG, it shows that it is a replacement for Ford part # E9AZ-5422008-A, which tells me that it probably changed in 1989 or 1990? Or else it would have had an E6 or E7 part number, correct? https://shop.broncograveyard.com/1987-1997-Ford-Bronco-and-F-Series-Truck-Metric-Door-Striker-Each/productinfo/34385A/ The junkyard I go to most often has a whole bunch of 1994-1996 F trucks, and of all of them that I checked, the striker bolt threads out of the steel guard on them. I actually took 3 of the strikers from these trucks to swap in later on (2 to use, and 1 for a spare). The only Bricknose trucks that were there were both 1987's, and they both had the strikers with the wrap around steel guards, but the striker bolts could not be removed. It seems like too much of a coincidence to me that all of the later ones I looked at were threaded into the guards, but who knows. Anything is possible. Oh, btw...I am assuming that the Metric part of that JBG listing is an error?

  8. 1991 was the last year for the old boxy Crown Vic wasn't it? Was it the last year for the 5.0 as well? Right, not a true serpentine system. It does have two belts. I wouldn't mind having a serpentine system on my old 302, if there was an easy way to do it. Not that there's anything wrong with the V-belts.
  9. Walked by another old relic at the junkyard today. Not a truck mind you, but I'm always lifting the hoods of other old Fords looking for random SBF stuff. This one a 1991 Crown Vic with 5.0 EFI. Nothing there for me really, but the factory serpentine belt system caught my eye. The water pump is running in the CW rotation (unlike the same engine in a truck at the time). Alternator and AC pump are on opposite sides from a truck too. It would work, but not really worth the trouble imho.
  10. My '84 Flareside was a stripped down model. Only two options above absolute base that I'm aware of are the 302 V8 and the gauges in the dash. Possibly the rear bumper too? I can't think of any other options on the truck. My truck has power brakes and power steering, but I think they were both standard equipment by 1984? I've seen manual brakes and manual steering Bullnoses, but usually only 1980-1981 models.
  11. Readily available is right. The mail man dropped one off to me today;).
  12. Gary, The wife and I went to see it at the theatre this past Saturday night, and we too loved it! We skipped the D-Box seat option and reading your comments makes me glad we did. I agree with you...if you're a car nut, go see the film. It's good entertainment. I had to swallow hard at the pumps yesterday...ugh. 1.37/L for diesel. That's about $5.25 per gallon (CDN dollars of course). Converted to USD, that's about $4 bucks. Thank goodness the car gets 40 mpg...but still. One of the reasons my Bullnose has a 5spd and the 3.08 gears are staying right where they are...lol.

  14. LMC has a pretty big selection of these plugs, from tiny up to 2.5" or bigger.
  15. I'd buy that truck. PS: The seller gets props for including a picture of the Certification Label! Love it when they do that.
  16. I've never seen these before. They look like a great idea for mounting toolboxes.
  17. Flaresides (and...cough...Stepsides...lol) RULE!... The XLS Flaresides are sweet.
  18. By the way, I am assuming that the 83-86 fitment was due to the 6-digit odometer? I believe the earlier Bullnoses in Canada still had the 5-digit odometers. My 1984 has a 6-digit odometer. I think they stayed at 5-digit in the US right until the end in 1986 didn't they?
  19. That or a Canadian that moved to Texas or Texan had a Canadian truck imported and then swapped in a USA speedometer. While it is listed as NEW/NOS, it actually has been used a little bit. It appears to have 1105 kms on it...maybe 700 miles.
  20. Oh wow, Pemberton...very nice area up there. We passed through there on a cross country motorcycle trip back in 2011. Welcome aboard the forum (I'm out in the Maritimes).
  21. Now what on earth is a Metric speedo doing in Texas?...lol. I wouldn't mind having it, but I'd also need the lens to go with it...hmmm. I have it saved in my Ebay for now. The only benefit for me would be the trip meter...my speedo already is a 6-digit.
  22. Looks good Emunder! Correct badges are a must! It just looks too plain without them!
