  1. Came across this unique truck van in my morning searches. It's in western Canada. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/calgary/1987-ford-e150-truck-van/1474703695?undefined
  2. Ours is around a month before yours. It will be a little quiet for us as well the rest of the week as most of the equipment I deal with is made in the US, so there will be no orders or tech support, etc...lol.
  3. I used to think so as well, but you will see them occasionally on the 85-86 Bullnoses. Gary, did the Type 14 paddle mirrors replace the old small chrome Type-5 mirrors like mine? Or were they both available at the same time?
  4. I get it. I'm the same way with a lot of parts. Most of the time I just can't justify spending $100 on a NOS item or a $100 on a nice used piece when I know they're in trucks parked in the woods around here and I can have the parts for $10, or less. lol. The one exception to that rule is AC parts. Back in those days, it was very rare for a truck to have AC around here, so I can't get my hands on those parts locally, at any price.
  5. Ahh yes, maybe so. The topic sounds familiar... I was just scrolling through some Ebay junk and when I came across it, I had a vague recollection that somebody was looking for one previously. You're probably right though...it might have been the rubber boot...they are getting REALLY hard to find for any year.
  6. Interesting! They are the same size tire that was on my 1984 when it was new. The cool part for me is that the much larger (wider, actually) tires that I'm running now (275/60-15) are actually the same OD as the original 215's. So, while they are much heavier by comparison, they actually kept my speedometer correct to within 1%. I know they will hurt my fuel efficiency, but I like them enough they're worth the "cost" to me.
  7. Oh boy does that white bumper stand out! Was that a factory thing or was it painted? Nice truck though for sure.
  8. Wasn't there somebody on here looking for one of these a while back? I seem to recall something about them being somewhat rare and only on the 1980 models? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1980-Bronco-Truck-F-150-F-250-F-350-Shifter-Bezel-E0TZ-1013100-A/173406392619?hash=item285fd3912b:g:oWwAAOSwVMtbRmZ5
  9. I was just scrolling through Ebay while sipping my morning coffee and happened to come across these headlight bezels. Are these for an XLS? Very cool if so. If they have already been posted previously, my apologies. I know that Stillwell's always has stuff on Ebay... https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-OEM-Ford-1980-1986-Truck-Grille-Headlight-Doors-Bezels-1982-1983-1984-1985/143365879547?epid=1923517768&hash=item216145b6fb:g:wcwAAOSwk5NdVyg3
  10. Barry, I actually had a very nice used one for an AOD that was removed from a 1985 F150. I had it in a ziplock baggie on the shelf for a year or so waiting for somebody that needed one, and I actually just sent it to a guy in Virginia about a month ago. Anyway, that is zero help I know, but... Worst case I guess you could pull a good cable from a 3spd gear indicator? Looks like it would be easy enough to swap over. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-1986-Ford-Truck-Park-Indicator-Gear-Selector-Bronco-F100-150-250-350-Pickup/123961526867?fits=Make%3AFord&epid=1793013343&hash=item1cdcaeca53:g:BwwAAOSwRg9dvgc7
  11. That's great mileage for a Bullnose David. You're running the factory 4 spd w/OD correct? What about rear end gear ratio? Just curious. I'm hoping to crack 20 MPG with my Bull next spring/summer. I managed to hit 18.25 MPG last year, and this year was still hitting 15+ MPG with a poorly performing engine (AFR off, and various vacuum leaks, etc). With my vacuum leaks all fixed up, a *new* freshly recurved distributor on the way, and my carburetor dialed in better (along with a functioning AFR gauge), I'm hoping I can crack the magic 20MPG mark. I will more than likely be replacing the 600CFM Holley with the 500CFM Summit carb between now and next spring. It's low (very low) priority at the moment. The 5spd and 3.08 gears are nice for the highway, so that's a plus for MPG. The lowly 302 doesn't get much love in the truck world, and I often hear about how it's low torque matched up with a heavy truck is a bad mix, but the truth is my truck weighs about the same as a fully loaded fox Mustang, so it's not a bad match up in reality. I don't have that nice low RPM torque of the 300/6, but the 302 has other redeeming qualities to make up for it;).
  12. Same thing around here. Our junkyards are full of those 1997-2008 era F150's that are all rusted into oblivion. There is a small handful of 1992-1996 F series trucks there, and anything older than that is really rare.
  13. There are plenty of joints that a stud fits through. That stud could be an oval headed machine screw. There are also spherical joints set in a lozenge shaped plate (or flange) That can be bolted or welded to some kind of bulkhead. Something like this joint below inserted in each end of the Z-Bar? https://secure.chassisshop.com/categories/5325/
  14. Gary, Right you are! I didn't even notice that LMC had these parts...but then again, I've never looked for them either. Sorry for adding any confusion above.
  15. Sorry Emunder, I'm not much help here. When it comes to removing emissions systems, it seems like most folks take an all or nothing approach. Either it all stays or it all goes. So having said that, I don't know anything about retaining only the EGR.
  16. I didn't think that there were any parts available for the mechanical clutch linkage, plastic or otherwise, but somebody can correct me if I'm wrong. As I said, I am a hydraulic clutch guy and greatly prefer that system, despite any issues it may have. I'm not really familiar with the mechanical clutch system linkage, but a cheap "fix" for that ball and socket arrangement would be a straight shaft with a heim joint on it, wouldn't it? I'm just guessing of course...but a more rigid ball joint assembly (with a grease nipple) would be the bee's knees as they say. My whole three-on-the-tree fiasco really jaded me on mechanical linkages...lol.
  17. Here is what the "ball" looks like on the 300/6. This one was a very low mile original piece on a 1980...I think it just barely had 30,000 miles on it. Ray now has this piece. For reproduction purposes, it should be a pretty good example since the plastic bushing still remains...or at least some of it. Presume this means that the ball itself is still relatively intact. Considering this part, and the whole linkage, is hanging under the truck exposed to all of the road grime, dirt, debris, and water it's no wonder they wear out the way they do. I think the failure mode is that the plastic bushing wears away, then the metal on metal contact rapidly wears out the ball, and it breaks off. Somebody can correct me on this...I'm a hydraulic clutch guy after all...
  18. Do you mean a NON-EGR NON-Feedback carb? Or are you trying to keep the EGR system? I am no 300/6 expert by any means, but there have been quite a few discussions on here about factory NON-EGR spacers...of which there are a few different styles I believe. You can see one of several discussions below: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Non-EGR-spacer-for-300-4-9L-D7TZ-9A589-H-NOS-td19341.html Or, as far as I know, most people just remove the EGR pipe and bolt a plate over it, or cut the end of it off and have it welded shut. Some good pictures in the thread linked below: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Questions-regarding-duraspark-conversion-td18255i20.html#a18389 If you Google the topic, you'll find where some people went to great lengths cutting everything off the EGR spacer and then welding it all closed. If you're going back to 1960's or early 1970's era emissions (or lack thereof) you'll just need a single vacuum line for your distributor, a vacuum line for PCV, and a vacuum line for your power brake booster. Everything else can go. (I'm speaking from 302 experience, not 300/6, but I went through this process myself and removed everything).
  19. Well that's interesting. I was wondering why they did that...and now I know! David I ended installing a Spectra Premium sender in the side tank on my 1984, part number FG75A. If by chance your son ends up buying this one, make sure he checks the float arms side by side to make sure they are the same. I wish I had done that with mine.
  20. Greetings! So what about the blue and white Flareside? Do you still have it as well?
  21. I originally wanted the short-n-wide ones, exactly like the ones you pictured below. I'd gladly take those if they're just laying there and destined to be scrap. Are there a couple different versions of these? The other red ones you pictured look a little different. (Less of a flange on them?) Now that I know about the All-in-one style, I'm very interested. If that one at the junkyard is fixable, I'd gladly take that. It looks like it would match up well with the 1985-1986 grey weave bezels? If it is the one in the blue dash, it looks like the left hand vent is busted and missing fins? I'd probably never be able to find another one of those diffusers. The Bezel-roll vents I've seen, and I was interested in those until I saw how they attached. They'd probably be a pain to make work since I'm planning on running 2" or 2.5" flex duct to the backs of them. So this brings me back to the Short-N-wide, or the All-in-one. If the short-n-wides with the silver edging are well enough to use I'd love to have them. If the all-in-one is repairable, I'd REALLY love to have it and the metal bracket you mention that goes behind it. I don't need any duct work since I'm planning on an aftermarket AC unit.
  22. That's a good question! Impressive though that they were building 480 of them a day.
  23. You guys may have seen this before, but it popped up in my Google searches for other stuff. Kinda neat.
